고린도후서 1장

1 하나님의 뜻에 의하여 예수 그리스도의 사도 된 바울과 우리의 형제인 디모데는 온 아카이아에 있는 모든 성도들과 더불어 고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회에게 편지하노라.

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

2 우리 아버지이신 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평안이 너희에게 있기를 기원하노라.

2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 하나님께서 찬양받으시기를 바라노라. 그분은 바로 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지시요, 자비들의 아버지시며, 모든 위로의 하나님이시로다.

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 하나님께서는 우리의 모든 환란 중에서도 우리를 위로하시나니, 어떤 곤경 중에 있는 자들이라도 우리가 하나님께 직접 위로받은 그 위로를 통하여 우리가 능히 위로할 수 있게 하려 하심이라.

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

5 이는 그리스도의 수난들이 우리 안에 넘치는 것같이 우리의 위안 또한 그리스도를 통하여 그렇게 넘치기 때문이라.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

6 그런즉 우리가 고난을 받는 것도 너희의 위안과 구원을 위한 것이니, 그것은 우리도 겪고 있는 동일한 수난들을 견디어 내는 데 효과적인 것이라. 즉, 우리가 위로를 받는 것도 너희의 위안과 구원을 위한 것이라.

6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

7 그리하여 너희가 그리스도의 수난들에 동참자들이 된 것같이 너희가 위안에 관해서도 그렇게 될 것을 알기에 너희에 관한 우리의 소망은 확고하니라.

7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

8 이는 형제들아, 아시아에서 우리에게 임한 우리의 곤경에 관하여 너희로 하여금 모르게 하기를 우리가 원하지 않기 때문이라. 곧, 우리에게 정도를 넘어선 압박이 가해졌다는 것이니, 우리가 힘에 겨워 심지어 생명까지 단념하였느니라.

8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

9 그러나 우리가 우리 자신 안에 사형 선고를 받았으니, 우리로 하여금 우리 자신을 신뢰하지 않고 오직 죽은 자들을 살리시는 하나님만을 신뢰하게 하려 함이라.

9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

10 그분께서 우리를 이처럼 엄청난 죽음에서 구해 내셨으며 또 구해 내고 계시니, 우리가 그분을 신뢰하는 것은 그분께서 여전히 우리를 구해 내시리라는 것이라.

10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

11 너희 또한 우리를 위해 기도함으로써 함께 돕고 있나니, 이는 많은 인물들을 통하여 우리에게 맡겨진 그 선물로 인해 우리를 대신하여 많은 이들로 말미암아 감사들이 드려지게 하려 함이라.

11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

12 이는 이것이 우리의 큰 기쁨이요, 우리 양심의 간증이기 때문이라. 곧, 우리가 세상 속에서 단순함과 경건한 진실함으로 우리의 생활 방식을 견지해 왔고, 육신적인 지혜가 아닌 오직 하나님의 은혜로 행하되 너희를 향하여 더욱 넘치게 행하였다는 것이라.

12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

13 이는 우리는 너희가 읽거나 인정하는 것 외에 어떤 다른 것들도 너희에게 쓰지 않기 때문이라. 그런즉 나는 너희가 끝까지 인정할 것을 확신하노니,

13 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;

14 너희도 부분적으로 우리를 인정한 것같이 우리가 너희의 큰 기쁨이라는 것이니, 곧 주 예수의 날에 바로 너희 또한 우리의 큰 기쁨인 것과 같으니라.

14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 그런즉 이런 확신 가운데 내가 전에 너희에게 가려는 생각을 갖게 되었으니, 너희로 하여금 두 번째 은택을 얻게 하려 함이요,

15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

16 너희 곁을 지나서 마케도니아로 들어갔다가 또다시 마케도니아로부터 나와서 너희에게 이르러, 너희에 의하여 유대를 향한 나의 길로 전송을 받으려 함이라.

16 And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea.

17 그러므로 내가 그와 같은 생각을 갖게 되었을 때 내가 경솔히 하였겠느냐? 아니면 내가 의도하는 일들이 내가 육신을 따라 의도하여 ‘예’, ‘예’하고 나서 ‘아니오’, ‘아니오’하는 일이 내게 있었겠느냐?

17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?

18 오직 하나님께서 참되신 것처럼 너희를 향한 우리의 말은 ‘예’하고 나서 ‘아니오’하는 것이 아니었느니라.

18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

19 이는 우리를 통하여, 곧 나와 실바누스¹와 디모데우스²를 통하여 너희 가운데서 선포되신 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도께서는 ‘예’하고 나서 ‘아니오’가 없으셨으며, 다만 그분 안에는 ‘예’만 있었기 때문이라.

19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

20 이는 그분 안에 있는 하나님의 모든 약속들은 ‘예’가 되고, 그분 안에서 ‘아멘’이 되기 때문이니, 우리를 통하여 하나님의 영광에 이르느니라.

20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

21 이제 그리스도 안에서 너희와 함께 우리를 확고히 세우시고 우리에게 기름을 부으신 분은 하나님이시라.

21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

22 그분께서 또한 우리에게 인장을 찍으셨고 우리의 마음속에 성령의 보증을 주셨느니라.

22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 이뿐만 아니라 내가 나의 혼에 대한 기록으로 하나님을 부르나니, 너희를 아끼기에 내가 아직까지 고린도에 가지 않았노라.

23 Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

24 이는 우리가 너희의 믿음을 지배하기 위함이 아니요, 오직 너희의 즐거움을 돕는 자들이 되기 위함이라. 이는 믿음으로 너희가 서기 때문이라.

24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
