오바댜 1장

1 오바댜의 현시라. 주 하나님께서 에돔에 관하여 이같이 말씀하시느니라. 우리가 주로부터 소문을 들었도다. 대사가 이교도들 가운데로 파견되었으니 말하기를, “너희는 일어나라. 우리가 그녀를 대적하여 일어나 전투하자.” 하는도다.

1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

2 보라, 내가 너를 이교도들 가운데서 작게 만들었도다. 너는 대단히 멸시를 받는도다.

2 Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.

3 ¶ 너, 바위틈들 속에 거하는 자여, 너의 거처가 높이 있도다. 너의 마음의 교만이 너를 속였도다. 너는 자기 마음속으로 말하기를, “누가 나를 땅으로 끌어내리겠느냐?” 하는도다.

3 ¶ The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

4 비록 네가 너 자신을 독수리같이 크게 높일지라도, 또 네가 너의 둥지를 별들 사이에 둘지라도 거기서 내가 너를 끌어내리겠노라. 주가 말하노라.

4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

5 만일 도둑들이 너에게 온다면, 만일 강도들이 밤에 온다면, (네가 어찌 그리 끊어졌는가!) 그들 자신이 충분히 얻을 때까지만 훔치지 아니하였겠느냐? 만일 포도 채집꾼들이 너에게 온다면, 그들이 얼마의 포도들을 남겨 두지 아니하겠느냐?

5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

6 에서에 속한 것들이 어찌 그리 수색당하는가! 그의 숨겨진 것들이 어찌 그리 탐색당하는가!

6 How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!

7 너와 동맹을 맺은 모든 사람들이 너를 경계에까지 데려갔고 너와 평화롭게 지내던 사람들이 너를 속이고 너를 대적하여 승리하였느니라. 너의 빵을 먹는 자들은 너의 아래에 상처를 남겼도다. 그의 안에는 명철이 전혀 없도다.

7 All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.

8 주가 말하노라. 그날에 내가 에돔으로부터 실로 지혜로운 사람들을 멸하고 에서의 산으로부터 명철을 멸하지 않겠느냐?

8 Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

9 그러니 오, 테만아, 너의 막강한 남자들이 좌절할 것이요, 종국에는 에서의 산에 있는 모든 이마다 살육으로 끊어지리라.

9 And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.

10 ¶ 이는 너의 형제 야곱을 대적한 너의 폭력으로 인하여 수치가 너를 덮을 것이기 때문이니, 너는 영원히 끊어지리라.

10 ¶ For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.

11 네가 다른 편에 서 있던 날, 즉 타국인들이 그의 병력들을 포로로 잡아갔고 외국인들이 그의 성문들로 침입하였으며 예루살렘 위에 제비들을 던진 그날에 너마저 그들 중의 하나 같았도다.

11 In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

12 그러나 너는 너의 형제가 타국인이 되던 날에, 곧 그의 날에 방관하지 말았어야 했도다. 또한 너는 그들의 멸망의 날에 유다 자녀들 위에서 크게 기뻐하지 말았어야 했도다. 또한 너는 괴로움의 날에 교만하게 말하지 말았어야 했도다.

12 But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

13 너는 나의 백성의 재난의 날에 그들의 성문 안으로 침입하지 말았어야 했도다. 진정 너는 그들의 재난의 날에 그들의 고난을 방관하지 말았어야 했으며, 그들의 재난의 날에 그들의 재물 위에 두 손을 대지도 말았어야 했도다.

13 Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

14 또한 너는 그에게 속한 자들인 탈출한 자들을 끊어 버리려고 사거리에 서 있지 말았어야 했도다. 또한 괴로움의 날에 너는 그에게 속한 자들인 남은 자들을 넘겨 버리지 말았어야 했도다.

14 Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

15 이는 주의 날이 모든 이방 민족들 위에 가까이 있기 때문이라. 네가 행한 대로 그것이 너에게 행해지리라. 너의 보응은 너 자신의 머리 위로 되돌아가리라.

15 For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

16 이는 마치 너희가 나의 거룩한 산 위에서 마셨듯이 이처럼 모든 이교도들도 지속적으로 마실 것이기 때문이라. 진정 그들은 마실 것이요, 그들은 삼켜 버릴 것이니, 그들은 마치 그들이 존재하지 않았던 것처럼 되리라.

16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

17 ¶ 그러나 시온산 위에는 구출이 있으리니, 거기에 거룩함이 있으리라. 그리하여 야곱의 집은 자신들의 소유들을 차지하리라.

17 ¶ But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

18 그리하여 야곱의 집은 불이 될 것이요, 요셉의 집은 불꽃이 될 것이며, 에서의 집은 지푸라기가 되리라. 그리하여 저들이 그들에게 불을 붙이고 그들을 집어삼키리라. 그리고 에서의 집에서 남아 있는 자가 하나도 없으리라. 이는 주가 그것을 말씀하셨기 때문이라.

18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

19 그리고 남쪽에 속한 자들이 에서의 산을 소유할 것이요, 평야에 속한 자들이 필리스티아인들을 소유하리라. 그러고 나면 그들은 에프라임의 들판들과 사마리아의 들판들을 소유할 것이요, 베냐민은 길르앗을 소유하리라.

19 And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

20 그리고 이스라엘 자녀들의 이 군대에 속한 포로들은 가나안족들의 소유를 차지하리니, 자르팟까지 이르리라. 그리고 스파랏 안에 있는 예루살렘에 속한 포로들은 남쪽 도시들을 차지하리라.

20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

21 그리고 구원자들이 시온산 위로 올라와서 에서의 산을 심판하리라. 그리하면 그 왕국은 주의 것이 되리라.

21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.
