사무엘기하 3장

1 이때 사울의 집과 다윗의 집 사이에 오랫동안 전쟁이 있었으나 다윗은 점점 더 강하게 되고 사울의 집은 점점 더 약하게 되니라.

1 Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

2 ¶ 이후에 다윗에게 헤브론에서 아들들이 태어났더라. 그리고 그의 첫 태생은 암논으로, 이즈르엘족 여인 아히노암에게서 났더라.

2 ¶ And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;

3 이어서 그의 둘째는 킬르압으로, 칼멜족 나발의 아내였던 아비가일에게서 났더라. 다음으로 셋째는 그슐 왕 탈마이의 딸 마아카흐의 아들 압살롬이라.

3 And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

4 다음으로 넷째는 학깃의 아들 아도니야라. 다음으로 다섯째는 아비탈의 아들 셰파티야라.

4 And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

5 다음으로 여섯째는 이드르암이니, 다윗의 아내 에글라를 통해서 났더라. 이들이 헤브론에서 다윗에게 태어났더라.

5 And the sixth, Ithream, by Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hebron.

6 ¶ 그리고 사울의 집과 다윗의 집 사이에 전쟁이 있던 동안에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 아브넬이 사울의 집을 위하여 스스로를 강하게 하였더라.

6 ¶ And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

7 그리고 사울에게는 한 첩이 있었는데 그녀의 이름은 아야의 딸 리즈파였더라. 이후에 이슈보솃이 아브넬에게 말하기를, “어찌 그대는 나의 아버지의 첩에게 들어갔는가?” 하였더라.

7 And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ishbosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father's concubine?

8 그때 아브넬이 이슈보솃의 말들로 인하여 매우 격노하며 이같이 말하였더라. “유다를 대적하여 이날 너의 아버지 사울의 집과 그의 형제들과 그의 친구들에게 친절을 보이고 다윗의 손안에 너를 넘기지 아니한 내가 개의 머리이기에 네가 오늘 이 여자와 관련하여 나에게 꼬투리를 잡는 것이냐?

8 Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

9 주께서 다윗에게 맹세하신 대로 바로 그렇게 내가 그에게 하지 않는다면 하나님께서 아브넬에게 벌을 내리시고 또한 더 내리시기를 바라노라.

9 So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

10 그 맹세는 왕국을 사울의 집에서 이전하시는 것이요, 단에서부터 베르셰바에 이르기까지 이스라엘과 유다 위에 다윗의 보좌를 세우시는 것이라.”

10 To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.

11 그러자 그가 아브넬을 두려워하였으므로 그는 그에게 한 마디도 대꾸하지 못하였더라.

11 And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

12 ¶ 그러고 나서 아브넬이 자신을 대신하여 다윗에게 전령들을 보내며 말하기를, “이 지역이 누구의 것이니이까?”하였고 또 말하기를, “당신께서는 저와 맹약을 맺으소서. 그리하면 보소서, 제 손이 당신과 함께 있으리니, 온 이스라엘을 당신께로 데려가리이다.”하였더라.

12 ¶ And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

13 ¶ 그러자 그가 말하기를, “좋다. 내가 너와 더불어 한 맹약을 맺겠노라. 그러나 내가 너에게 한 가지를 요구하노니, 곧 ‘네가 나의 얼굴을 보러 올 때 네가 사울의 딸인 미칼을 먼저 나에게 데려오지 아니하면, 너는 나의 얼굴을 보지 못하리라.’는 것이라.”하였더라.

13 ¶ And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

14 이어서 다윗이 사울의 아들 이슈보솃에게 전령들을 보내며 말하기를, “내가 필리스티아인들의 포피들 일백 개로 나에게 정혼시킨 나의 아내 미칼을 나에게 넘기라.” 하였더라.

14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

15 그러자 이슈보솃이 사람을 보내서 그녀의 남편에게서 그녀를 취하였으니, 곧 라이시의 아들 프할티엘에게서라.

15 And Ishbosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

16 이에 그녀의 남편이 그녀의 뒤에서 그녀를 따라가며 울면서 바후림까지 갔더라. 그때 아브넬이 그에게 말하기를, “가라. 되돌아가라.” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 되돌아갔더라.

16 And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

17 ¶ 그리고 아브넬이 이스라엘의 장로들과 함께 소통하며 이같이 말하였더라. “너희가 과거에는 다윗이 너희를 다스리는 왕이 되기를 구하였노라.

17 ¶ And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

18 그렇다면 이제 그것을 실행하라. 이는 주께서 다윗에 관하여 말씀하시기를, ‘나의 종 다윗의 손으로 내가 나의 백성 이스라엘을 필리스티아인들의 손에서 구원하고, 그들의 모든 원수들의 손에서 구원하겠노라.’ 하셨기 때문이라.”

18 Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

19 이어서 아브넬이 또한 베냐민의 귀에도 이야기하였더라. 그런 다음에 아브넬이 또한 이스라엘에게도 좋아 보이고 베냐민 집 전체에도 좋아 보이는 모든 것을 헤브론에서 다윗의 두 귀에 고하기 위해 갔더라.

19 And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

20 그렇게 하여 아브넬이 헤브론으로 다윗에게 왔으니, 이십 명의 남자들도 그와 함께하였더라. 그러자 다윗이 아브넬과, 그와 함께한 남자들에게 한 잔치를 베풀었더라.

20 So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.

21 이윽고 아브넬이 다윗에게 말하기를, “제가 일어나 가서 나의 주 왕께 온 이스라엘을 모아 그들도 당신과 한 맹약을 맺게 하여 당신의 마음이 희망하는 모든 곳을 친히 통치하실 수 있게 하겠나이다.” 하였더라. 이에 다윗이 아브넬을 전송하였더라. 그리하여 그가 평안히 갔더라.

21 And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

22 ¶ 그런데 보라, 다윗의 종들과 요압이 군부대를 추격하는 데서 돌아왔고 자기들 곁에 엄청난 노획물을 가져왔더라. 그러나 아브넬은 다윗과 함께 헤브론에 있지 아니하였더라. 이는 그가 그를 전송하여 그가 평안히 갔기 때문이라.

22 ¶ And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

23 요압과, 그와 함께 있던 군대 전체가 왔으니, 그들이 요압에게 알리며 말하기를, “넬의 아들 아브넬이 왕께 왔는데 그가 그를 전송하여 그가 평안히 갔나이다.” 하였더라.

23 When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

24 그때 요압이 왕에게 와서 이같이 말하였더라. “당신께서 무엇을 하셨나이까? 보소서, 아브넬이 당신께 왔나이다. 당신께서 그를 전송하시어 그가 아주 떠나 버렸으니, 어찌 된 일이니이까?

24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

25 당신께서는 넬의 아들 아브넬을 아시나니, 그가 온 것은 당신을 속이고 당신께서 나가고 당신께서 들어오는 것을 알아내고자 함이요, 당신이 행하는 모든 것을 알고자 함이니이다.”

25 Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

26 그러고 나서 요압이 다윗을 떠나 나오자 그가 아브넬에게 전령들을 보내서 시라의 우물에서 그를 다시 데려왔더라. 그러나 다윗은 그것을 몰랐더라.

26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

27 그런 다음에 아브넬이 헤브론으로 되돌아왔을 때, 요압이 그와 조용히 이야기하려고, 그를 성문의 한쪽으로 데려갔고, 거기서 그의 다섯 번째 갈비뼈 아래를 치니 그가 죽었더라. 이는 자기 형제 아사헬의 피 때문이었더라.

27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

28 ¶ 그러고 난 후에 다윗이 그것을 들었을 때 그가 이같이 말하였더라. “나와 나의 왕국은 넬의 아들 아브넬의 피로부터 주 앞에서 영원토록 무죄하도다.

28 ¶ And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

29 그것이 요압의 머리 위와 그의 아버지의 온 집 위에 남아 있을지어다. 그리고 유출병이 있는 자나 나병 환자나 지팡이를 짚고 다니는 자나 칼에 쓰러지는 자나 빵이 부족한 자가 요압의 집으로부터 끊기지 아니할지어다.”

29 Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

30 그와 같이 요압과 그의 형제 아비샤이가 아브넬을 살해하였으니, 그가 그들의 형제 아사헬을 기브온에서 전투 중에 살해한 까닭이라.

30 So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.

31 ¶ 그리고 다윗이 요압과 그와 함께하였던 모든 이들에게 말하기를, “너희의 옷을 찢고, 너희 몸에 굵은 베를 두르며, 아브넬 앞에서 애곡하라.” 하였더라. 그리고 다윗왕도 친히 그 상여를 따라갔더라.

31 ¶ And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

32 그리하여 그들이 아브넬을 헤브론에 장사하였더라. 그리고 왕이 자기 목소리를 높여 아브넬의 무덤에서 울었더라. 그러자 모든 백성이 울었더라.

32 And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

33 이어서 왕이 아브넬을 두고 애가를 지어 이같이 말하였더라. “아브넬이 어리석은 자가 죽듯 죽었는가?

33 And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?

34 네 두 손이 결박되지 아니하였고, 네 두 발도 족쇄에 채워지지 아니하였거늘, 사람이 사악한 사람들 앞에서 쓰러지듯 네가 그렇게 쓰러졌도다.” 그러자 모든 백성이 그를 두고 다시 울었더라.

34 Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

35 그리고 모든 백성이 아직 낮이었던 동안에 와서 다윗에게 음식을 들게 하자 다윗이 맹세하며 말하기를, “만일 해가 질 때까지 내가 빵이나 그 밖의 것을 조금이라도 맛본다면 하나님께서 나에게 벌을 내리시고 또한 더 내리시기를 바라노라.” 하였더라.

35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

36 그러자 온 백성이 그것을 주목하였으니, 그것이 그들을 기쁘게 하였더라. 왕이 무엇을 하든지 온 백성을 기쁘게 하였더라.

36 And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

37 이는 넬의 아들 아브넬을 살해한 것이 왕에게서 나온 것이 아님을 그날에 온 백성과 온 이스라엘이 깨달았기 때문이라.

37 For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

38 그리고 왕이 그의 종들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “너희는 이날 이스라엘에서 쓰러진 한 통치자이자 한 위대한 남자가 있음을 모르느냐?

38 And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

39 그리고 비록 기름 부음 받은 왕일지라도 이날 내가 약하도다. 그리고 스루야의 아들들인 이 남자들은 나에게 너무 어렵도다. 주께서 악을 행하는 자를 그의 사악함에 따라 보응하시리라.”

39 And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.
