디모데후서 2장

1 그러므로 내 아들아, 너는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 은혜 가운데 강건하라.

1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 그리고 네가 많은 증인들 가운데 나에게서 들어 온 것들, 그 동일한 것들을 너는 신실한 사람들에게 맡기라. 그들이 다른 이들 또한 가르칠 수 있으리라.

2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3 그러므로 너는 예수 그리스도의 훌륭한 군인으로서 어려움을 견디어 내라.

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4 전쟁하는 사람은 아무도 이 세상에서 일어나는 일들에 스스로 얽매이지 아니하나니, 그가 자신을 군인으로 선택하신 분을 기쁘게 해 드리려 함이라.

4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5 그런즉 어떤 사람이 이와 마찬가지로 승리들을 위하여 분투할지라도, 그가 합법적으로 분투하지 않는다면 결코 그는 왕관을 받지 못하느니라.

5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6 수고하는 농부가 먼저 그 열매들의 동참자가 되어야만 하느니라.

6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

7 내가 말하는 것을 숙고하라. 그리하여 주께서 너에게 모든 일들에 명철을 주시기를 기원하노라.

7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8 다윗의 씨에서 나신 예수 그리스도께서 나의 복음에 따라 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지신 것을 기억하라.

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

9 이 복음으로 말미암아 내가 마치 악을 행하는 자처럼 심지어 결박들을 당하기까지 곤경을 당하느니라. 그러나 하나님의 말씀은 매이지 아니하느니라.

9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10 그러므로 내가 택함받은 자들을 위하여 모든 것들을 견디나니, 그들도 영존하는 영광과 함께 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구원을 획득하게 하려 함이라.

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 그것은 신실한 말씀이니, 만일 그분과 함께 우리가 죽어 있다면 우리 역시 그분과 함께 살 것이기 때문이라.

11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

12 만일 우리가 고통을 견딘다면 우리 역시 그분과 함께 통치하리라. 만일 우리가 그분을 부인한다면 그분 역시 우리를 부인하시리라.

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

13 설령 우리가 믿지 않는다 하여도 그분께서는 늘 신실하시니, 그분께서는 스스로를 부인하실 수 없느니라.

13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

14 이런 것들을 그들에게 기억하게 하고 주 앞에서 그들에게 명하여 그들로 하여금 말씀들에 관해 분쟁하지 않게 하라. 이는 유익이 전혀 없으며 다만 듣는 자들을 부패하게 할 뿐이라.

14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15 진리의 말씀을 바르게 나누어 너 자신을 하나님께 인정받은 자로서, 부끄러워할 필요 없는 일꾼으로서 나타내도록 공부하라.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 그러나 속되고 헛된 말장난들을 멀리하라. 이는 그것들이 늘어나서 더욱 심한 불경건에 이를 것이기 때문이라.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17 그리고 그들의 말은 종양이 그러하듯 잠식하리라. 그들 중에 후메내우스와 필레투스가 있느니라.

17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 그들은 진리에 관하여 잘못을 행하였으니, 부활이 이미 지나갔다고 말하면서 어떤 이들의 믿음을 뒤엎느니라.

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님의 기초는 확실하게 서 있고 이러한 봉인을 지니고 있으니, 곧, ‘주께서 그분께 속한 자들을 아신다는 것’과 ‘그리스도의 이름을 부르는 모든 자는 저마다 죄악으로부터 떠나라는 것’이라.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

20 그러나 넓은 집에는 금과 은으로 된 그릇들뿐만 아니라 목재와 흙으로 된 그릇들도 있어서 일부는 존귀에 이르고 일부는 불명예에 이르느니라.

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21 그러므로 만일 어떤 사람이 이런 것들에서 자신을 깨끗하게 한다면 그는 존귀에 이르는 그릇이 되어 성결하게 구별되고 주인이 사용하기에 알맞으며 모든 선한 행위에 저마다 예비되리라.

21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

22 젊음의 정욕들도 피하라. 다만 순수한 마음으로부터 주를 부르는 자들과 함께 의와 믿음과 성도의 사랑과 화평을 따르라.

22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23 그러나 어리석고 무식한 질문들을 피할지니, 그것들이 분쟁들을 일어나게 하는 것을 알고 있기 때문이라.

23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

24 그런즉 주의 종은 결코 다투지 말아야 하고, 다만 모든 사람들에게 온화하고 가르치는 것에 능하며 인내하고,

24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

25 스스로를 반대하는 자들을 온유함으로 알려 주어야 하느니라. 이는 혹시라도 하나님께서 그들에게 진리를 인정함에 이르는 회개를 주실까 함이요,

25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 마귀에 의하여 마귀의 뜻대로 포로 잡힌 자들이 마귀의 올무로부터 자신들을 회복하게 하려 함이라.

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
