요한복음 7장

1 이 일들이 있은 후에 예수님께서 갈릴리에서 걸어 다니셨더라. 이는 유대인들이 그분을 죽이려고 한 까닭에 그분께서 유대인 거주 지역에서 걸어 다니시는 것을 바라지 않으셨기 때문이라.

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

2 이때 유대인들의 장막절이 가까웠더라.

2 Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.

3 그러므로 그분의 형제들이 그분께 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “당신의 제자들도 당신이 행하시는 일들을 볼 수 있도록 여기를 떠나서 유대로 들어가소서.

3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

4 이는 비밀리에 어떤 것을 행하면서 자기 자신이 공공연하게 알려지는 것을 구하는 사람은 아무도 없기 때문이니이다. 만일 당신께서 이런 일들을 하신다면 세상에 자신을 보이소서.”

4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

5 이는 그분의 형제들도 그분을 믿지 아니하였기 때문이라.

5 For neither did his brethren believe in him.

6 그때 예수님께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “나의 시간이 아직 오지 아니하였도다. 그러나 너희의 시간은 늘 준비되어 있느니라.

6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

7 세상은 너희를 증오하지 못하느니라. 그러나 세상은 나를 증오하느니라. 이는 내가 세상에 관하여 세상의 일들이 악하다고 증언하는 까닭이라.

7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

8 너희는 이 명절에 올라가라. 나는 이 명절에 아직 올라가지 아니하노라. 이는 나의 시간이 아직 충만하게 차지 아니하였기 때문이라.”

8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.

9 그분께서 이 말씀들을 그들에게 하셨을 때는 그분께서 갈릴리에 계속 거하셨더라.

9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

10 ¶ 그러나 그분의 형제들이 올라가자 그때 그분께서도 명절에 올라가셨는데 드러나게 아니하셨으니 다만 비밀인 것처럼 하셨더라.

10 ¶ But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 그때 유대인들이 명절에 그분을 찾았으며 말하기를, “그가 어디에 있는가?” 하였더라.

11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

12 그리고 백성들 사이에서 그분에 관하여 많은 수군거림이 있었더라. 이는 어떤 이들이 말하기를, “그는 좋은 사람이라.” 하였고 다른 이들은 “아니라. 오히려 그는 백성을 속이는도다.” 하였기 때문이라.

12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

13 하지만 유대인들을 두려워하므로 아무도 그분에 관하여 드러나게 말하지 아니하였더라.

13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

14 ¶ 이제 명절의 중간 즈음에 예수님께서 성전으로 올라가셔서 가르치셨더라.

14 ¶ Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15 그러자 유대인들이 놀라워하며 말하기를, “이 사람은 전혀 배우지 못하였는데 어떻게 글자들을 아는가?” 하였더라.

15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “나의 교리는 나의 것이 아니요, 오직 나를 보내신 분의 것이라.

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

17 누구든 그분의 뜻을 행하려고 한다면 그는 그 교리에 관하여 알리니, 그것이 하나님께로부터 나왔는지 아니면 내가 나 자신에 관하여 말하는 것인지 알리라.

17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

18 자신에 관하여 말하는 자는 자기 자신의 영광을 찾느니라. 그러나 자신을 보내신 분의 영광을 찾는 자, 바로 그는 참되며 그 안에 불의가 전혀 없느니라.

18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19 모세가 너희에게 율법을 주지 아니하였느냐? 그럼에도 너희 중 아무도 율법을 지키지 아니하느니라. 어찌하여 너희는 나를 죽이려고 하느냐?”

19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

20 백성이 대답하여 말씀드리기를, “당신은 한 마귀에 들렸도다. 누가 당신을 죽이려고 하는가?” 하였더라.

20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

21 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “나는 한 가지 일을 하였는데 너희가 모두 이상히 여기는도다.

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22 이런 이유에서 모세가 너희에게 할례를 주었느니라. (그것이 모세에게서 난 것이 아니요, 다만 조상들에게서 난 까닭이라.) 그런즉 너희는 안식일에 사람에게 할례를 행하는도다.

22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23 모세의 율법이 깨지지 않도록 사람이 안식일에 할례를 받을진대, 내가 안식일에 사람의 곳곳을 온전하게 만들었다고 해서 너희가 나에게 화를 내는 것이냐?

23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

24 겉모양을 따라 판단하지 말고 다만 의로운 판단으로 판단하라.”

24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

25 그때 예루살렘에 속한 그들 중 일부가 이같이 말하였더라. “이 자는 그들이 죽이려고 하는 자가 아니냐?

25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

26 그러나 보라, 그는 담대하게 말하고 그들은 그에게 아무 말도 하지 아니하는도다. 정녕 치리자들도 이 자가 바로 그 그리스도라고 알고 있는가?

26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27 하지만 우리는 이 사람을 아노니, 그가 어디에서 왔는지 아는도다. 그러나 그리스도께서 오실 때는, 그분께서 어디에서 오시는지 아무도 모르느니라.”

27 Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

28 그때 예수님께서 자신이 가르치시는 동안 외치며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희가 나를 알며 또 너희는 내가 어디에서 왔는지도 아느니라. 그런즉 나는 스스로 온 것이 아니니라. 그러나 나를 보내신 분은 참되시며 너희는 그분을 모르느니라.

28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

29 그러나 나는 그분을 아노라. 이는 내가 그분으로부터 왔으며 그분께서 나를 보내셨기 때문이라.”

29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

30 그때 그들이 그분을 잡으려고 하였더라. 그러나 아무도 그분께 손들을 대지 아니하였으니, 그분의 시각이 아직 오지 아니한 까닭이라.

30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

31 그리고 백성 중 많은 이들이 그분을 믿으며 말하기를, “그리스도께서 오실지라도 그분께서 이 사람이 행한 이것들보다 기적들을 더 행하시겠는가?” 하였더라.

31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

32 ¶ 바리새파 사람들은 백성이 그분에 관하여 그러한 것들로 수군거렸음을 들었더라. 그러자 바리새파 사람들과 수석 제사장들이 그분을 붙잡으려고 관원들을 보냈더라.

32 ¶ The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

33 그때 예수님께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “나는 앞으로 잠시 동안은 너희와 함께 있다가 그 뒤에 나는 나를 보내신 분께로 가노라.

33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

34 너희는 나를 찾을 것이나 나를 발견하지 못하리라. 그리고 내가 있는 곳, 그곳으로는 너희가 올 수 없느니라.”

34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

35 그때 유대인들이 자기들끼리 이같이 말하였더라. “그가 어디로 갈 것이기에 우리가 그를 발견하지 못하겠는가? 그가 이방인들 사이에서 흩어져 사는 자들에게 가서 이방인들을 가르칠 것인가?

35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

36 그가 말하기를, ‘너희는 나를 찾을 것이나 나를 발견하지 못하리라. 그리고 내가 있는 곳, 그곳으로는 너희가 올 수 없느니라.’ 한 이것은 어떤 방식의 말인가?”

36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

37 마지막 날, 곧 명절의 중대한 날에 예수님께서 서서 외치며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “누구든 목마르다면 그는 내게로 와서 마실지어다.

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 나를 믿는 자는 성경 기록이 말씀하셨듯이 그의 배에서 살아 있는 물의 강들이 흐르리라.”

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (그러나 이것은 그분께서 그분을 믿는 자가 받게 될 성령에 관하여 말씀하신 것이라. 이는 예수님께서 아직 영광을 받지 아니하셨으므로 성령님께서 아직 주어지지 아니하였기 때문이라.)

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40 ¶ 그러므로 이렇게 말씀하신 것을 백성 중 많은 이들이 들었을 때 그들이 말하기를, “참으로 이분은 그 예언자시라.” 하였더라.

40 ¶ Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

41 다른 이들이 말하기를, “이분은 그리스도시라.” 하였더라. 그러나 일부는 이같이 말하였더라. “그리스도께서 갈릴리에서 나오시겠느냐?

41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

42 성경 기록이 말씀하시기를, ‘그리스도는 다윗의 씨에서 나오며 다윗이 있던 베들레헴 마을에서 나오는도다.’ 하지 아니하였느냐?”

42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

43 그러한 이유로 그분 때문에 백성 사이에서 분열이 생겼더라.

43 So there was a division among the people because of him.

44 그리고 그들 중 일부는 그분을 잡고 싶어 하였으나 아무도 그분께 손들을 대지 아니하였더라.

44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

45 ¶ 그때 수석 제사장들과 바리새파 사람들에게 관원들이 왔더라. 그러자 그들이 관원들에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 너희는 그를 데려오지 아니하였느냐?” 하였더라.

45 ¶ Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

46 그 관원들이 대답하기를, “이 사람같이 말한 사람이 결코 없었나이다.” 하였더라.

46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

47 그때 바리새파 사람들이 그들에게 대답하였더라. “너희도 속았느냐?

47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

48 치리자들 중이나 바리새파 사람들 중에 누가 그를 믿은 적이 있느냐?

48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

49 그러나 율법을 모르는 이 백성은 저주받은 것이라.”

49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

50 니고데모가 그들에게 이같이 말하니라. (그는 그들의 일원으로서 밤에 예수님께 왔었더라.)

50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

51 “우리의 율법이 당사자의 말을 듣고 그가 행하는 것을 알기 전에 그것이 아무 사람이나 판단하느냐?”

51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

52 그들이 그에게 대답하여 말하기를, “너도 갈릴리 출신이냐? 찾아보고 살펴보라. 이는 갈릴리에서는 예언자가 아무도 일어나지 아니하기 때문이라.” 하였더라.

52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

53 그런 다음에 모든 사람이 저마다 자기 자신의 집으로 갔더라.

53 And every man went unto his own house.
