열왕기상 10장

1 이후에 셰바 여왕이 주의 이름에 관하여 솔로몬의 명성을 들었을 때 그녀가 어려운 질문들로 그를 확인해 보려고 왔더라.

1 And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

2 그리하여 그녀가 아주 대단히 많은 수행원들을 거느리고 향료들과 아주 많은 금과 보석들을 실은 낙타들을 대동하여 예루살렘으로 왔더라. 이윽고 그녀가 솔로몬에게 왔을 때 그녀는 자기 마음속에 있던 모든 것에 관하여 그와 대화를 하였더라.

2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

3 그러자 솔로몬이 그녀의 모든 질문들에 대하여 그녀에게 답변하였으니, 왕에게 숨겨져 그가 그녀에게 답변하지 않은 것이 아무것도 없었더라.

3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.

4 그런즉 셰바 여왕이 솔로몬의 모든 지혜와 그가 건축한 집과

4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

5 그의 식탁의 음식과 그의 종들이 앉는 것과 그를 섬기는 자들이 수종을 드는 것과 그들의 복장들과 그의 잔을 담당하는 자들과 그가 주의 집으로 올라갈 때 이용하는 그의 오르막길을 보았을 때, 그녀 안에 더 이상 넋이 없었더라.

5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

6 그리하여 그녀가 왕에게 이같이 말하였더라. “내가 나의 본토에서 당신의 행적과 당신의 지혜에 관하여 들은 것은 참된 보고였나이다.

6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

7 하지만 나는 내가 와서 내 두 눈으로 그것을 볼 때까지 그 말들을 믿지 아니하였나이다. 그런데 보소서, 그 절반도 나에게 알려진 것이 아니었나이다. 당신의 지혜와 번영은 내가 들은 명성을 넘어서나이다.

7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.

8 당신의 사람들은 행복하니, 당신 앞에서 지속적으로 서서 섬기며 당신의 지혜를 듣는 당신의 이 종들은 행복하나이다.

8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.

9 주 당신의 하나님께서 찬양받으시기를 바라나이다. 그분께서는 당신을 크게 즐거워하시고 당신을 이스라엘의 보좌 위에 앉게 하셨나이다. 이는 주께서 이스라엘을 영원토록 사랑하셨으므로 그분께서 당신을 왕으로 삼으시어 공의와 정의를 실행하게 하셨기 때문이니이다.”

9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

10 그리고 그녀는 왕에게 일백이십 달란트의 금을 주었고, 아주 막대한 양의 향료들에 해당하는 것과 보석들을 주었더라. 셰바 여왕이 솔로몬왕에게 준 이것들과 같이 그렇게 풍부한 양의 향료들은 더 이상 들어오지 아니하였더라.

10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

11 그리고 오필에서 금을 가져온 히람의 선단이 또한 오필에서 대단히 많은 양의 백단향나무들과, 보석들을 가져왔더라.

11 And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

12 그런즉 왕이 백단향나무들로 주의 집의 기둥들을 만들었고, 왕의 집을 위해서도 그리하였으며, 노래하는 자들을 위한 하프들과 솔터리들을 만들었더라. 그러한 백단향나무들은 들어온 적도 없었고 오늘날까지 보인 적도 없었더라.

12 And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.

13 그리고 솔로몬왕이 자신의 왕의 하사품 중에서 셰바 여왕에게 준 것 외에도 그녀가 요청하는 것은 무엇이나 그녀가 희망하는 모든 것을 그녀에게 주었더라. 그렇게 하여 그녀가 돌이켜서 그녀 자신의 나라로 갔으니, 그녀와 그녀의 신하들이 그리하였더라.

13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.

14 ¶ 이때 한 해에 솔로몬에게 들어온 금의 무게는 금 육백육십육 달란트였으니,

14 ¶ Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

15 이는 그가 상인들에게서 얻은 것과 향료 상인들과 교역하여 얻은 것과 아라비아의 모든 왕들에게서 얻은 것과 지방의 총독들에게서 얻은 것을 제외한 것이더라.

15 Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.

16 ¶ 그런 다음에 솔로몬왕이 두들겨 펴진 금으로 된 작은 방패들 이백 개를 만들었으니, 작은 방패 하나당 금 육백 셰켈이 들어갔더라.

16 ¶ And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.

17 그리고 그가 두들겨 펴진 금으로 된 방패들 삼백 개를 만들었더라. 방패 하나당 금 삼 파운드¹가 들어갔더라. 그리하여 왕이 레바논 숲의 수목으로 이루어진 집 안에다 그것들을 두었더라.

17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18 ¶ 더욱이 왕이 상아로 된 거대한 보좌를 만들었고 그것을 최상품 금으로 입혔더라.

18 ¶ Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

19 그 보좌에는 여섯 개의 계단들이 있었고 보좌의 꼭대기는 뒤가 둥글었더라. 그리고 좌석의 위치에는 양측에 팔걸이들이 있었고 팔걸이들 곁에는 두 마리의 사자들이 섰더라.

19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.

20 그리고 거기에 열두 마리 사자들이 서 있었는데 한 편과 다른 편에 여섯 개의 계단들 위에 있었더라. 어느 왕국에도 이와 같이 만들어진 것이 없었더라.

20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

21 ¶ 그리고 솔로몬왕이 마시는 모든 기물들은 금으로 이루어졌고 레바논 숲의 수목으로 이루어진 집의 모든 기물들은 순금으로 이루어졌더라. 은으로 된 것은 아무것도 없었더라. 은이 솔로몬의 날들에는 아무것도 아닌 것으로 여겨졌더라.

21 ¶ And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

22 이는 왕이 바다에다 히람의 선단과 함께 다르시시의 선단을 보유하였기 때문이라. 삼 년에 한 번씩 금과 은과 상아와 원숭이들과 공작들을 가지고 다르시시의 선단이 왔더라.

22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

23 그렇게 하여 솔로몬왕이 재물들과 지혜에 있어서 땅의 모든 왕들을 뛰어넘었더라.

23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

24 ¶ 그리고 온 땅은 솔로몬에게 자문을 구하였으니, 하나님께서 그의 마음속에 넣어 주신 그의 지혜를 들으려고 하였더라.

24 ¶ And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

25 그리고 그들이 모든 사람마다 그의 증여물을 가져왔으니, 해마다 일정량의 은그릇들과 금그릇들과, 의복들과 갑옷과, 향료들과 말들과 노새들을 가져왔더라.

25 And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

26 ¶ 그리하여 솔로몬이 병거들과 기병들을 한데 모았더니, 그는 일천사백 대의 병거들과 일만 이천 명의 기병들을 보유하였더라. 그들을 그가 병거들을 위한 도시들 안에 두었고 예루살렘에 왕 곁에도 두었더라.

26 ¶ And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.

27 그리고 왕이 예루살렘에서 은을 돌들 같게 하였으며, 그가 풍부함으로 인하여 백향목의 수목들을 계곡 가운데 있는 돌무화과나무들같이 되게 하였더라.

27 And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.

28 ¶ 그리고 솔로몬이 이집트에서 말들과 아마포 방적실을 가져왔으니, 왕의 상인들이 아마포 방적실을 값을 내고 받았더라.

28 ¶ And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

29 그런즉 병거 한 대당 은 육백 셰켈에, 말 한 마리당 일백오십 셰켈에 이집트에서 나와 올라왔더라. 그리하여 이와 같이 히타이트족들의 모든 왕들과 시리아의 왕들을 위해서 그들이 자신들의 방식대로 그것들을 가져왔더라.

29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
