열왕기상 9장
1 이후에 솔로몬이 주의 집과 왕의 집을 건축하는 것을 마치고 그가 기쁘게 행한 솔로몬의 모든 열망을 다 이루었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니,
1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,
2 주께서 친히 그에게 기브온에서 나타나신 것처럼 솔로몬에게 두 번째로 나타나셨더라.
2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.
3 그리고 주께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “네가 내 앞에 올린 너의 기도와 너의 간구를 내가 들었노라. 네가 건축한 이 집을 내가 거룩하게 하였으니, 거기에 나의 이름을 영원토록 두고자 함이라. 그런즉 나의 눈들과 나의 마음이 그곳에 영속적으로 있으리라.
3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
4 그런즉 만일 내가 너에게 명령한 모든 것에 따라 행하고자 너의 아버지 다윗이 살아갔듯이 네가 내 앞에서 마음의 온전함과 올바름 가운데 살아가고, 나의 규례들과 나의 공의로운 법규들을 지킨다면,
4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
5 그때는 내가 너의 왕국의 보좌를 이스라엘 위에 영원토록 확고히 하겠으니, 내가 너의 아버지 다윗에게 약속하며 말하기를, ‘이스라엘의 보좌 위에 있을 자가 너에게서 끊어지지 아니하리라.’ 한 대로니라.
5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.
6 그러나 만일 너희가, 곧 너희나 너희 자녀들이 나를 따르는 데서 아주 돌이켜서 내가 너희 앞에 세운 나의 명령들과 나의 규례들을 지키지 않고 오히려 가서 다른 신들을 섬기며 그것들에게 경배한다면,
6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7 그때는 내가 이스라엘에게 준 그 지역에서 내가 그들을 끊어 버리겠노라. 그리고 내가 나의 이름을 위하여 거룩하게 한 이 집도 내가 나의 목전에서 뽑아내리라. 그리하면 이스라엘은 모든 백성 가운데서 한 속담 거리와 한 조롱거리가 되리라.
7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
8 그리고 이 높은 집에서는 그 옆을 지나가는 모든 자마다 경악할 것이요, 쉭쉭대며 야유하리라. 그러면서 그들이 말하기를, ‘어찌하여 주께서 이 지역에 이같이 하셨으며, 이 집에 이같이 하셨는가?’ 할 것이요,
8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?
9 그들은 대답하기를, ‘이는 그들이 그들의 조상들을 이집트 지역에서 데리고 나오신 주 그들의 하나님을 저버리고 다른 신들을 붙들며 그들에게 경배하고 그들을 섬겼기 때문이라. 그러므로 주께서 그들 위에 이 모든 해악을 가져오셨도다.’ 할 것이라.”
9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.
10 ¶ 그리고 이십 년 끝에 솔로몬이 두 집들, 곧 주의 집과 왕의 집을 건축하였을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니,
10 ¶ And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king's house,
11 (이때 티레 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 그의 모든 열망에 따라 백향목들과 전나무들과 금을 제공하였는데,) 그때 솔로몬왕이 히람에게 갈릴리 지역에서 스무 개의 도시들을 주었더라.
11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
12 그러자 히람이 솔로몬이 자신에게 준 도시들을 보려고 티레에서 나왔는데 그것들이 그를 기쁘게 하지 아니하였더라.
12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.
13 그리하여 그가 말하기를, “나의 형제여, 당신이 나에게 준 이것들이 무슨 도시들이니이까?” 하였더라. 그런즉 그가 그것들을 카불 지역이라 불렀으니, 오늘날까지 이르니라.
13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.
14 이후에 히람이 왕에게 금 일백이십 달란트를 보냈더라.
14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.
15 ¶ 그리고 솔로몬왕이 동원 인력을 징발한 이유가 이러하니, 곧 그가 주의 집과 자기 자신의 집과 밀로와 예루살렘 성벽과 하졸과 메기도와 게젤을 건설하고자 하였기 때문이라.
15 ¶ And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16 이는 이집트 왕 파라오가 올라가서 게젤을 점령하고 그것을 불로 태웠으며 그 도시 안에서 거하였던 가나안족들을 살해하고 그것을 솔로몬의 아내인 그의 딸에게 증여물로 주었기 때문이라.
16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon's wife.
17 그리하여 솔로몬이 건설한 것은 게젤과, 벧호론 하부요,
17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,
18 바알랏과, 영토 내 광야 가운데 있는 타드몰이요,
18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19 솔로몬이 보유한 모든 저장 도시들과, 그의 병거들을 위한 도시들과, 그의 기병들을 위한 도시들과 솔로몬이 예루살렘과 레바논과 그의 통치권에 속하는 모든 지역 가운데 건설하기를 희망하였던 것이라.
19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20 그리고 이스라엘 자녀들에게 속하지 아니한 아모리족들, 히타이트족들, 프리즈족들, 히위족들, 여부스족들 중 남겨진 모든 이들,
20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel,
21 곧 그들의 뒤를 이어 그 지역 가운데 남겨진 그들의 후손들이자 이스라엘 자녀들이 또한 모조리 멸하지 못한 자들, 그들에게도 솔로몬이 노예살이로 부역을 부과하였으니 오늘날까지 이르니라.
21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.
22 그러나 이스라엘 자녀들 중에서는 솔로몬이 아무도 노예들로 삼지 아니하였으니, 다만 그들은 전사들과, 그의 종들과, 그의 통치자들과, 그의 대장들과, 그의 병거들의 대장들과, 그의 기병들이었더라.
22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
23 이들은 솔로몬의 작업을 관리하였던 관원들의 우두머리들로서 오백오십 명이었으며 그들이 공사를 수행하는 백성을 다스렸더라.
23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
24 ¶ 그러나 파라오의 딸이 다윗의 도시에서 올라와 솔로몬이 그녀를 위하여 건축한 그녀의 집에 이르렀더라. 그때 그가 밀로를 건축하였더라.
24 ¶ But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.
25 ¶ 그리고 한 해에 세 번씩 솔로몬이 번제물들과 화평 제물들을 자신이 주께 쌓은 제단 위에 바쳤고 그가 주 앞에 있던 제단 위에서 향을 태웠더라. 그렇게 하여 그가 그 집을 완성하였더라.
25 ¶ And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.
26 ¶ 그리고 솔로몬왕이 에지온게벨에서 선박들로 된 한 선단을 만들었으니, 에지온게벨은 에돔 지역 내에서 엘롯 옆에 있고 홍해 기슭에 있느니라.
26 ¶ And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.
27 그리고 히람이 그 선단으로 자기 종들을 보냈으니, 곧 바다에 관한 지식을 지닌 선원들을 솔로몬의 종들과 함께 보냈더라.
27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
28 그리하여 그들이 오필에 이르러 거기로부터 금 사백이십 달란트를 취하여 그것을 솔로몬왕에게로 가져왔더라.
28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
