마태복음 19장

1 그러고 나서 이러한 일이 있었으니, 곧 예수님께서 이 말씀들을 마치시자 그분께서는 갈릴리에서 떠나시어 요르단 너머 유대의 변방들로 오셨더라.

1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 그러자 수많은 무리들이 그분을 따랐더라. 그리하여 그분께서 거기서 그들을 치유하셨더라.

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

3 ¶ 바리새파 사람들 역시 그분께 와서 그분을 시험하며, “무슨 사유로든지 남자가 자기 아내를 버리는 것이 합법적이니이까?”라고 그분께 말씀드렸더라.

3 ¶ The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “최초에 그들을 만드신 분께서 그들을 남성과 여성으로 만드셨다는 것을 너희는 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 또한 말씀하시기를, ‘이런 까닭에 남자가 아버지와 어머니를 떠나서 그의 아내와 결합하리니, 그들 두 사람은 하나의 육체가 되리라.’ 하신 것을 너희는 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 이러한 이유로 그들은 더 이상 두 사람이 아니요, 오히려 하나의 육체니라. 그러므로 하나님께서 결합하여 주신 것을 사람이 갈라놓지 말지어다.”

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

7 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “그렇다면 어찌하여 모세는 이혼 증서를 주고 그녀를 버리라고 명령하였나이까?” 하니라.

7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

8 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하시니라. “너희 마음의 완악함으로 인하여 모세가 너희 아내들을 버리도록 너희를 용납하였던 것이라. 그러나 그것이 시작부터 그렇게 된 것은 아니었느니라.

8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9 그런즉 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘음행으로 인한 것을 제외하고 자기 아내를 버리고 또 다른 이와 혼인하는 자는 누구든지 간음을 저지르는 것이요, 누구나 버림받은 여인과 혼인하는 자는 간음을 저지르는 것이라.’”

9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

10 ¶ 그분의 제자들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “만일 그 남자의 경우가 자기 아내와 그렇게 되는 것이라면, 혼인하는 것이 좋지 않나이다.” 하니라.

10 ¶ His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 그러나 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “이 말이 주어지는 자들을 제외하고는 모든 사람들이 이 말을 받아들일 수 있는 것이 아니니라.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 이는 그들의 모태에서부터 그렇게 태어난 고자들도 일부 있고, 사람들에 의하여 고자들로 만들어진 고자들도 일부 있으며, 하늘의 왕국을 위하여 스스로를 고자들로 만든 고자들도 있기 때문이라. 그것을 능히 받아들일 수 있는 자, 그는 그것을 받아들일지어다.”

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

13 ¶ 그때 어린아이들이 그분께 인도되었으니, 그분께서 그분의 두 손을 그들에게 올려 기도해 주시기를 바람이더라. 그러자 제자들이 그들을 꾸짖었더라.

13 ¶ Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 그러나 예수님께서 말씀하시기를, “어린아이들이 내게로 오는 것을 승낙하고 그들을 금하지 말라. 이는 하늘의 왕국이 이러한 자들의 것이기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 그러고 나서 그분께서 자신의 두 손으로 그들에게 안수하신 후에 거기서 떠나셨더라.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

16 ¶ 그리고 보라, 한 명이 그분께 나아와 말씀드리기를, “선한 스승이여, 제가 영생을 얻으려면 저는 어떤 선한 일을 행해야 하나이까?” 하였더라.

16 ¶ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 그러자 그분께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “네가 무슨 이유로 나를 선하다고 하느냐? 선한 이는 한 분, 즉 하나님 외에는 아무도 없느니라. 그러나 만일 네가 생명에 들어가려거든 명령들을 지키라.” 하셨느니라.

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18 그가 그분께 말씀드리기를, “어떤 것이니이까?” 하니라. 예수님께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너는 살해하지 말지니라. 너는 간음하지 말지니라. 너는 도둑질하지 말지니라. 너는 거짓 증언하지 말지니라.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19 너의 아버지와 너의 어머니를 공경하라. 그리고 너는 네 이웃을 너 자신과 같이 사랑할지니라.”

19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20 그 청년이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “저는 이 모든 것들을 저의 어린 시절부터 쭉 지켜 왔나이다. 제게 아직 부족한 것이 무엇이니이까?” 하니라.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 예수님께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “만일 네가 완전하게 되고자 한다면 가서 네가 가진 것을 팔아서 가난한 자들에게 주라. 그리하면 너는 하늘에서 보물을 소유하리라. 그런 다음에 와서 나를 따르라.” 하셨느니라.

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 그러나 그렇게 말씀하시는 것을 그 청년이 들었을 때, 그는 슬퍼하며 떠나갔더라. 이는 그가 막대한 소유물들을 가졌기 때문이라.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23 ¶ 그때 예수님께서 자기 제자들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘부유한 사람은 하늘의 왕국 안으로 들어가기 어려우리라.’

23 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 그리고 또다시 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘낙타가 바늘귀를 통과하는 것이 부유한 사람이 하나님의 왕국에 들어가는 것보다 더 쉬우니라.’”

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 그분의 제자들이 그것을 듣자 그들이 지극히 놀라며 말하기를, “그렇다면 누가 구원받을 수 있겠는가?” 하였더라.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 그러나 예수님께서는 그들을 보셨고 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “사람들에게는 이것이 불가능하니라. 그러나 하나님께는 모든 것들이 가능하니라.” 하셨느니라.

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

27 ¶ 그때 베드로가 그분께 대답하여 말씀드리기를, “보소서, 우리는 모든 것을 저버리고 당신을 따랐나이다. 그러므로 우리가 무엇을 가지게 되리이까?” 하였더라.

27 ¶ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘나를 따른 너희는 인자가 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉을 때인 재생의 때에, 너희 역시도 이스라엘의 열두 지파를 심판하면서 열두 보좌에 앉으리라.

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 그리고 내 이름을 위하여 집들이나 형제들이나 자매들이나 아버지나 어머니나 아내나 자녀들이나 토지들을 저버린 모든 자마다 일백 배를 받을 것이요, 또 영원한 생명을 상속받으리라.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30 그러나 처음이 된 많은 자들이 마지막이 될 것이요, 마지막이 된 자들이 처음이 되리라.’

30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
