민수기 11장

1 이후에 백성이 원망하자 그것이 주를 불쾌하게 하였더라. 그런즉 주께서 그것을 들으셨더라. 그리고 그분의 분노에 불이 붙었더라. 그리하여 주의 불이 그들 가운데서 타올라 진영의 맨 끝부분들에 있던 자들을 살랐더라.

1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

2 그러자 백성이 모세에게 부르짖었더라. 이에 모세가 주께 기도하자 그 불이 꺼졌더라.

2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.

3 그리하여 그가 그곳의 이름을 타베라라 불렀더라. 이는 그들 가운데서 주의 불이 타오른 까닭이라.

3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.

4 ¶ 이후에 그들 가운데 섞여 있던 무리가 정욕에 빠졌더라. 그러자 이스라엘 자녀들도 다시 울며 이같이 말하였더라. “누가 우리에게 고기를 먹으라고 주겠는가?

4 ¶ And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

5 우리가 이집트에서 자유롭게 먹었던 생선을 기억하니, 오이들과 멜론들과 리크들과 양파들과 마늘도 기억하노라.

5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6 그러나 이제 우리의 혼이 말라비틀어지는도다. 우리 눈앞에 이 만나 외에는 아예 아무것도 없도다.”

6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

7 그런데 만나는 고수풀 씨 같았고, 그것의 색깔은 마치 베델리엄 색깔 같았더라.

7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.

8 그리고 백성은 돌아다니면서 그것을 모았다가 그것을 맷돌들 안에 넣고 갈거나, 그것을 절구 안에다 넣고 찧거나, 그것을 납작한 냄비들 안에다 넣고 굽거나, 그것으로 둥글납작한 빵들을 만들었더라. 또 그것의 맛은 신선한 기름의 맛과 같았더라.

8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

9 그리고 밤중에 이슬이 진영 위에 내릴 때 만나가 그 위에 내렸더라.

9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10 ¶ 그때 모세가 백성이 우는 것을 들었는데 그들의 족속들을 통틀어 모든 사람마다 자기 천막 문 안에서 울었더라. 그러자 주의 분노가 심히 크게 타올랐더라. 모세 역시 불쾌해하였더라.

10 ¶ Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

11 그런즉 모세가 주께 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “어찌 당신께서는 당신의 종을 괴롭게 하셨나이까? 그리고 어찌 저는 당신의 목전에서 호의를 발견하지 못하였으며, 당신께서는 이 백성의 모든 짐을 제 위에 올려놓으셨나이까?

11 And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

12 제가 이 모든 백성을 잉태하였나이까? 제가 그들을 낳았기에 당신께서 제게 말씀하시기를, ‘아이를 기르는 아버지가 젖을 먹는 아이를 품듯이 너의 품속에 넣고 이동하라.’ 하시며, 당신께서 그들의 조상들에게 맹세하신 그 지역까지 이르게 하시나이까?

12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

13 이 모든 백성에게 줄 고기를 제가 어디에서 얻어야 하나이까? 이는 그들이 제게 울면서 말하기를, ‘우리에게 고기를 주어 우리로 하여금 먹게 하라.’ 하나이다.

13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

14 제가 홀로 이 모든 백성을 감당할 수 없으니, 그것이 제게 너무 무거운 까닭이니이다.

14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

15 그리고 만일 당신께서 이와 같이 저를 대우하신다면, 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 만일 제가 당신의 목전에서 호의를 발견하였다면 저를 어서 죽여 주옵소서. 그리하여 제가 저의 비참함을 보지 않게 하여 주옵소서.”

15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

16 ¶ 그러자 주께서 모세에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “백성의 장로들이자 그들을 통솔하는 관원들로서 네가 알고 있는 이스라엘의 장로들 중에서 칠십 명을 나에게로 모으라. 그런 다음에 그들을 회중의 성막으로 데려와 그들로 하여금 너와 함께 거기에 서게 하라.

16 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

17 그리하면 내가 내려가 거기에서 너와 대화하겠노라. 그런즉 내가 네 위에 있는 영에서부터 취하여 그것을 그들 위에 두겠노라. 그리하면 그들이 너와 함께 백성의 짐을 지리니, 네가 그것을 너 홀로 감당하지 않게 하려 함이라.

17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

18 그런 다음에 너는 백성에게 이같이 말하라. ‘내일을 대비하여 너희 자신을 성결하게 구별하라. 그리하면 너희가 고기를 먹으리라. 이는 너희가 ‘누가 우리에게 고기를 주어 먹게 하겠는가? 이는 우리가 이집트에서 좋았기 때문이라.’라고 주의 두 귀에 울면서 말하였기 때문이라. 그러므로 주께서 너희에게 고기를 주실 것이요, 너희가 먹으리라.

18 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

19 너희가 하루만 먹지 않으리니, 이틀도, 닷새도 아니요, 열흘도, 스무날도 아니요,

19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

20 오히려 한 달 동안이나 내내, 그것이 너희 콧구멍으로 나와서 그것이 너희에게 역겨워질 때까지 먹으리라. 이는 너희가 너희 가운데 계시는 주를 멸시하였고 그분 앞에서 울며 말하기를, ‘어찌하여 우리가 이집트에서 빠져나왔는가?’ 한 까닭이라.’”

20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?

21 이에 모세가 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “제가 그 가운데 있는 백성이 보병만 육십만 명이니이다. 그런데 당신께서 말씀하시기를, ‘내가 그들이 한 달 내내 먹도록 그들에게 고기를 주겠노라.’ 하셨나이다.

21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

22 그들을 위하여 양 떼들과 소 떼들이 도살된들 그들을 충족시키겠나이까? 아니면 그들을 위하여 바다의 모든 물고기가 한데 모인들 그들을 충족시키겠나이까?”

22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

23 그러자 주께서 모세에게 말씀하시기를, “주의 손이 짧아졌느냐? 내 말이 너에게 이루어질지 아닐지 네가 이제 보게 되리라.” 하셨느니라.

23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

24 ¶ 그러자 모세가 나가서 주의 말씀들을 백성에게 알렸고, 백성의 장로들 칠십 인을 모아 그들을 성막의 주위에 둘러 세웠더라.

24 ¶ And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

25 그러자 주께서 구름 속에 내려오시어 그에게 말씀하셨더라. 그러고는 그의 위에 있던 영에서부터 취하시어 그것을 칠십 명의 장로들에게 주셨더라. 그러자 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그 영이 그들 위에 안식하자 그들이 예언하였으며 그치지 아니하였더라.

25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

26 그러나 그 남자들 중에서 두 사람이 진영에 남아 있었으니, 한 명의 이름은 엘닷이었고 다른 한 명의 이름은 메닷이었으며, 그들 위에 그 영이 안식하였더라. 그런즉 그들은 기록된 자들 중에 속하였으나 성막으로 나가지는 아니하였으니, 그들이 진영 안에서 예언하였더라.

26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

27 그러자 한 청년이 달려와서 모세에게 알리며 말하기를, “엘닷과 메닷이 진영 안에서 예언하나이다.” 하였더라.

27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

28 이에 모세의 종이요, 그의 청년들 중 한 명인, 눈의 아들 여호수아가 반응하며 말하기를, “내 주 모세여, 그들을 금하소서.” 하였더라.

28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

29 그러자 모세가 그에게 말하기를, “네가 나를 위하여 시기하느냐? 주의 백성 모두가 예언자들이 되어 주께서 그들 위에 그분의 영을 두시기를 하나님께 바라노라!” 하였더라.

29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

30 그리하여 모세가 진영 안으로 옮겨 갔으니, 곧 그와 이스라엘의 장로들이라.

30 And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

31 ¶ 그런데 주께로부터 바람이 나와서 바다에서부터 메추라기들을 몰고 와 그것들을 진영 옆에 떨어지게 하였는데, 이편으로 하루 여정 정도 되고 다른 편으로 하루 여정 정도 되어 진영 주위를 둘렀으니, 땅의 표면 위로 이 큐빗 높이 정도 되었더라.

31 ¶ And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

32 그러자 백성이 그날 온종일과 온밤, 또 다음날 온종일 일어서 있었으니, 그들이 메추라기들을 모았더라. 가장 적게 모은 자가 십 호멜을 모았더라. 그런즉 그들이 자신들을 위하여 진영 주위에 그것들을 전부 널리 펼쳤더라.

32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 그리고 그들의 치아 사이에 고기가 아직 있어 그것이 씹히기도 전에 주의 진노가 백성을 대적하여 타올랐으니, 주께서 매우 심한 재앙으로 백성을 치셨더라.

33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

34 그리하여 그분께서 그 장소의 이름을 키브롯핫타아와라 부르셨더라. 이는 그들이 욕심을 낸 백성을 거기에 묻은 까닭이라.

34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

35 그러고 나서 백성이 키브롯핫타아와에서 하제롯까지 여정을 가졌고 하제롯에 거하였더라.

35 And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
