고린도전서 10장

1 이뿐만 아니라 형제들아, 나는 너희가 무지하기를 바라지 아니하노니, 우리의 조상들이 모두 구름 아래 있었다는 것과 모두 바다를 통과하였다는 것이라.

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 그런즉 모두가 구름과 바닷속에서 모세에게로 침례를 받았느니라.

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 그리고 모두가 동일한 영적 음식을 먹었으며,

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 모두가 동일한 영적 음료를 마셨느니라. 이는 그들이 자신들을 따라온 그 영적 반석에서 나온 것을 마셨기 때문이라. 그런즉 그 반석은 그리스도셨느니라.

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 그러나 하나님께서는 그들 중 많은 이들을 매우 기뻐하지 아니하셨느니라. 그런즉 그들이 광야 가운데서 괴멸되었느니라.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 이제 이런 것들은 우리의 본보기들이었으니, 그들 역시 정욕을 품었던 것같이 우리가 악한 것들을 따라 정욕을 품지 않게 하려고 의도하신 것이라.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 또한 그들 중 일부가 그러하였던 것처럼 너희는 우상숭배자들이 되지도 말라. 기록된 바와 같으니, “백성이 앉아서 먹고 마셨으며 일어나서 놀았느니라.” 하였도다.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 또한 그들 중 일부가 저지른 것처럼 우리는 음행을 저지르지도 말자. 그러다가 하루에 이만 삼천 명이 쓰러졌느니라.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 또한 그들 중 일부도 시험한 것처럼 우리는 그리스도를 시험하지도 말자. 그러다가 그들은 뱀들에게 멸망당하였느니라.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 또한 그들 중 일부도 불평한 것처럼 너희는 불평하지도 말라. 그러다가 멸망시키는 자에게 멸망당하였느니라.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 이제 이 모든 일들이 본보기들로서 그들에게 벌어진 것이라. 그런즉 그것들이 우리를 위한 권고로 기록되었으니, 세상의 끝들에 당면한 우리에게라.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 이런 이유로 자신이 서 있다고 생각하는 자는 자신이 넘어지지 않도록 주의하라.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13 사람에게 흔히 있는 그러한 시험 외에는, 너희에게 닥친 시험이 전혀 없었느니라. 그러나 하나님께서는 신실하시니, 너희가 능히 감당할 수 있는 것 이상으로 너희가 시험받는 것을 허락하지 아니하시리라. 그러나 너희가 그것을 능히 감당할 수 있도록 시험과 더불어 빠져나올 길도 마련하시리라.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 이런 이유로 나의 진심 어린 사랑을 받는 자들아, 우상 숭배를 피하라.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 내가 지혜로운 사람들에게 하듯이 말하노라. 내가 말하는 것을 판단하라.

15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

16 우리가 축복하는 그 복의 잔, 그것은 그리스도의 피에 참여하는 것이 아니냐? 우리가 찢는 빵, 그것은 그리스도의 몸에 참여하는 것이 아니냐?

16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

17 이는 우리가 많으나 하나의 빵이며, 하나의 몸이기 때문이라. 이는 우리 모두가 그 하나의 빵의 동참자들이 되기 때문이라.

17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

18 육체를 따라 난 이스라엘을 보라. 희생 제물들을 먹는 자들은 제단의 동참자들이 아니냐?

18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

19 그렇다면 내가 무엇을 말하느냐? 그 우상이 무엇이라도 되느냐? 아니면 우상들에게 희생 제물로 바쳐진 것이 무엇이라도 되느냐?

19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

20 그러나 내가 이같이 말하노니, 이방인들이 희생 제물로 바치는 것들, 그것들은 마귀들에게 희생 제물로 바치는 것이며 하나님께 하는 것이 아니니라. 그런즉 나는 너희가 마귀들과 교제하는 것을 바라지 아니하노라.

20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21 너희는 주의 잔과 더불어 마귀들의 잔을 마실 수 없느니라. 너희가 주의 식탁의 동참자들이 됨과 더불어 마귀들의 식탁의 동참자들이 될 수 없느니라.

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

22 우리가 주께 질투를 일으키겠느냐? 우리가 그분보다 더 강하냐?

22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

23 모든 것들이 나에게 합법적이나 모든 것들이 적합한 것은 아니니라. 모든 것들이 나에게 합법적이나 모든 것들이 세워 주는 것은 아니니라.

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

24 아무도 자기 자신의 것을 구하지 말고 오히려 모든 사람은 저마다 다른 이의 번성을 구하라.

24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

25 무엇이든지 고기 시장에서 팔리는 것은 양심을 위해서 전혀 물어보지 말고 먹으라.

25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

26 이는 땅과 그것의 충만한 것이 주의 것이기 때문이라.

26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

27 만일 믿지 않는 자들 중 어떤 이가 너희를 어떤 잔치로 초대하고 너희가 갈 마음이 든다면, 너희 앞에 차려진 것은 무엇이나 양심을 위해서 전혀 물어보지 말고 먹으라.

27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28 그러나 만일 어떤 사람이 너희에게 말하기를, “이것은 우상들에게 희생 제물로 바쳐진 것이라.” 한다면, 그것을 알게 한 자를 위하여 그리고 양심을 위하여 먹지 말라. 이는 땅과 그것의 충만한 것이 주의 것이기 때문이라.

28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

29 내가 말하는 양심은 너 자신의 것이 아니요, 오히려 다른 이의 것이라. 그러므로 나의 자유가 왜 다른 사람의 양심으로 판단받겠느냐?

29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

30 그런즉 내가 은혜로 동참자가 된다면 내가 감사들을 드리는 그것으로 인하여 어찌하여 내가 악담을 들어야 하겠느냐?

30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

31 그러므로 너희가 먹든지 마시든지 너희가 무엇을 하든지 모두 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하라.

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

32 유대인들에게도, 이방인들에게도, 하나님의 교회에게도 전혀 실족 거리를 주지 말라.

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

33 곧, 그들이 구원받도록 내가 모든 일들에서 모든 사람들을 기쁘게 하고, 나 자신의 유익을 구하지 아니하며, 오히려 많은 이들의 유익을 구하는 것같이 하라.

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
