고린도전서 11장

1 나도 그리스도를 따르는 자니, 바로 그와 같이 너희도 나를 따르는 자들이 되라.

1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

2 형제들아, 너희가 모든 일들에서 나를 기억하고 내가 너희에게 규율들을 전달한 대로 그것들을 지키므로 이제 내가 너희에게 찬사를 보내니라.

2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

3 그러나 내가 너희를 알게 하기를 바라노니, 모든 남자마다 머리는 그리스도시요, 여자의 머리는 남자이며, 그리스도의 머리는 하나님이시라.

3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

4 기도하거나 예언하는 모든 남자마다 자기 머리가 덮이도록 두면 그의 머리를 창피하게 하는 것이라.

4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

5 그러나 기도하거나 예언하는 모든 여자마다 자기 머리가 덮여 있지 않다면, 그녀의 머리를 창피하게 하는 것이라. 이는 그것이 다름 아닌 그녀의 머리가 밀린 것과 전적으로 같기 때문이라.

5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

6 그런즉 만일 여자의 머리가 덮여 있지 않다면, 그녀의 머리를 또한 깎이게 두라. 그러나 만일 여자에게 머리가 깎이거나 밀리는 것이 수치가 된다면, 그녀의 머리가 덮이게 하라.

6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

7 이는 남자가 하나님의 형상과 영광인 고로, 정녕 그는 마땅히 자기 머리를 덮지 말아야 하기 때문이라. 그러나 여자는 남자의 영광이라.

7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

8 이는 남자가 여자에게서 난 것이 아니요, 오히려 여자가 남자에게서 난 것이기 때문이라.

8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

9 또한 남자가 여자를 위하여 창조되지 아니하였고 오히려 여자가 남자를 위하여 창조되었느니라.

9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

10 이런 까닭에 여자는 천사들 때문이라도 자기 머리 위에 마땅히 권세를 두어야 하느니라.

10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

11 그럼에도 불구하고 주 안에서는 남자가 여자 없이 존재하지도 아니하고 여자가 남자 없이 존재하지도 아니하니라.

11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12 이는 여자가 남자에게서 나는 것처럼 바로 이와 같이 남자도 여자를 통하여 나기 때문이라. 그러나 모든 것들이 하나님께로부터 나느니라.

12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

13 너희 스스로 판단하라. 여자가 머리가 덮여 있지 않은 채 하나님께 기도하는 것이 적합하냐?

13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14 만일 남자가 긴 머리를 가지고 있다면 그것이 그에게 수치인 것을 심지어 본성 그 자체도 너희를 가르치지 아니하냐?

14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15 그러나 만일 여자가 긴 머리를 가지고 있다면 그것은 그녀에게 영광이 되느니라. 이는 그녀의 머리가 덮개로 그녀에게 주어지기 때문이라.

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16 그러나 만일 어떤 사람이 논쟁할 듯 보일지라도 우리는 전혀 그런 관례가 없으며 또한 하나님의 교회들에도 그러하니라.

16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

17 이제 내가 너희에게 분명하게 밝히는 이 일에 있어서 내가 너희에게 찬사를 보내지 아니하노니, 곧 너희가 함께 모이나 더 좋은 일이 되지 아니하고 오히려 더 나쁜 일이 된다는 것이라.

17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18 이는 무엇보다 먼저, 내가 듣기로는 너희가 교회에 함께 모일 때면 너희 사이에 분열들이 있다고 하기 때문이라. 그리고 나도 부분적으로 그것을 믿노라.

18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19 이는 너희 가운데 이단들도 있어야만 하기 때문이니, 검증된 자들이 너희 가운데서 명백하게 나타나게 되도록 하려 함이라.

19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

20 그러므로 너희가 한 장소로 함께 모일 때면 이것은 주의 만찬을 먹으려는 것이 아니니라.

20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

21 이는 먹는 것에 있어서 각자가 다른 이들보다 먼저 자기 자신의 만찬을 먹기 때문이라. 그리하여 어떤 이는 배고프고 다른 이는 취하였도다.

21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22 무엇이냐? 너희에게는 먹고 마실 집들이 없느냐? 아니면 너희가 하나님의 교회를 멸시하고 없는 자들을 부끄럽게 하는 것이냐? 내가 너희에게 무슨 말을 하랴? 이 일로 내가 너희에게 찬사를 보내겠느냐? 나는 너희에게 찬사를 보내지 아니하노라.

22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 이는 나 역시 너희에게 전달하였던 것을 내가 주께 이렇게 받았기 때문이라. “주 예수께서, 곧 그분께서 배반당하시던 바로 그 밤에, 빵을 집으셨느니라.

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 그리고 그분께서 감사들을 드리셨을 때 친히 그것을 찢으시고 말씀하시기를, ‘받아서 먹으라. 이것은 너희를 위하여 찢어진 나의 몸이라. 나를 기억하는 가운데 이것을 행하라.’ 하셨느니라.

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 그분께서 만찬을 드신 후에 같은 방식으로 또한 그분께서 잔을 취하며 말씀하시기를, ‘이 잔은 나의 피로 세우는 새 유언 언약이라. 너희가 그것을 마실 때마다 너희는 나를 기억하면서 이것을 행하라.’ 하셨느니라.”

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 이는 너희가 이 빵을 먹고 이 잔을 마실 때마다 그분께서 오실 때까지 너희가 주의 죽으심을 보여주기 때문이라.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

27 이런 이유로 누구든지 합당하지 않게 주의 이 빵을 먹고 이 잔을 마시는 자는 주의 몸과 피에 관하여 죄가 있으리라.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 그러나 사람이 자신을 점검할지니, 그런 뒤에 그는 그 빵을 먹고 그 잔을 마실지어다.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 이는 합당하지 않게 먹고 마시는 자는 주의 몸을 분별하지 않은 채 자신을 향한 단죄를 먹고 마시는 것이기 때문이라.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30 이런 까닭에 많은 이들이 너희 가운데서 약하고 병들어 있으며 또 많은 이들이 잠자고 있느니라.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 이는 만일 우리가 자신을 판단하려고 한다면 우리가 판단받지 않을 것이기 때문이라.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 그러나 우리가 판단을 받을 때 우리는 주께 징계를 받는 것이니, 우리가 세상과 함께 정죄받지 않으려 함이라.

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 이런 이유로 나의 형제들아, 너희가 먹으려고 함께 모일 때면 서로 기다려 주라.

33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 그리고 만일 어떤 사람이 배가 고프다면 그로 하여금 집에서 먹게 하라. 이는 너희가 함께 모여 정죄에 이르지 않게 하려 함이라. 그리고 나머지 일들은 내가 가면 질서 있게 정리하겠노라.

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
