고린도전서 14장

1 성도의 사랑을 따르라. 그런 다음에 영적인 은사들을 열망하되 오히려 너희는 예언을 하도록 하라.

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2 이는 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 말하는 자는 사람들에게 말하는 것이 아니라 하나님께만 하는 것이기 때문이니, 아무도 그를 이해하지 못하기 때문이라. 하지만 그는 영 안에서 신비들을 말하느니라.

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3 그러나 예언하는 자는 사람들에게 말하여 세움과 권면함과 위로에 이르도록 하느니라.

3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 말하는 자는 자신을 세우느니라. 그러나 예언하는 자는 교회를 세우느니라.

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5 나는 너희 모두가 방언들로 말하기를 바라지만 그보다는 오히려 너희가 예언하기를 바라노라. 이는 그가 통역하여 교회가 세움을 받게 하는 것이 아니라면 예언하는 자가 방언들로 말하는 자보다 더 훌륭하기 때문이라.

5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

6 이제 형제들아, 만일 내가 방언들을 말하면서 너희에게 나아가는데, 내가 너희에게 계시로나 지식으로나 예언함으로나 교리로 말하지 아니한다면, 내가 너희에게 무슨 유익을 주겠느냐?

6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

7 또한 피리든 하프든 심지어 생명이 없는 것들조차 소리를 내는데 그것들이 소리들에 있어서 구분을 주지 아니하면 피리나 하프로 무엇이 연주되었는지 어떻게 알게 되겠느냐?

7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8 그러므로 만일 나팔이 불확실한 소리를 낸다면 누가 스스로 전투 채비를 하겠느냐?

8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9 너희도 이와 마찬가지니, 너희가 이해되기 쉬운 말들을 혀로 발설하는 것이 아니라면 무엇이 언급되었는지 어떻게 알려지겠느냐? 이는 너희가 허공에 말하는 것이기 때문이라.

9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10 세상 속에 아주 많은 종류들의 음성들이 있으며, 또 있겠지만, 그것들 중 의미가 없는 것은 하나도 없느니라.

10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11 그러므로 만일 내가 그 음성의 의미를 모른다면 나는 말하는 자에게 야만인이 될 것이요, 말하는 자는 나에게 야만인이 될 것이라.

11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

12 너희가 영적인 은사들에 열심인 고로, 너희도 바로 그와 같이, 너희가 교회를 세우는 일에 탁월해질 수 있도록 구하라.

12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13 이런 이유로 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 말하는 자는 자신이 통역할 수 있도록 기도하라.

13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14 이는 만일 내가 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 기도한다면 나의 영은 기도하고 있어도 나의 이해하는 것은 열매 맺지 못하느니라.

14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15 그렇다면 어찌하랴? 내가 영과 더불어 기도하겠으니, 나는 또한 이해하면서 기도하겠노라. 내가 영과 더불어 노래하겠으니, 나는 또한 이해하면서 노래하겠노라.

15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16 그렇지 않으면 네가 영과 더불어 축복할 때 그 언어를 배우지 않은 채 참석하는 자가, 네가 말하는 것을 자신이 이해하지 못하므로 어떻게 네가 드리는 감사들에 ‘아멘’이라고 말하겠느냐?

16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17 이는 네가 진실로 감사들을 잘 드리기는 해도, 다른 이들은 세워지지 아니하기 때문이라.

17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 내가 너희 모두보다 방언들로 더 많이 말하므로 나의 하나님께 감사하노라.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19 그럼에도 교회 안에서 내가 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 일만 마디 말을 하기 보다는 차라리 내가 이해하면서 다섯 마디 말을 하여 나의 음성으로 내가 다른 이들도 가르칠 수 있게 하겠노라.

19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 형제들아, 이해하는 데 있어서는 아이들이 되지 말라. 하지만 악의에 있어서는 너희가 아이들이 되고 도리어 이해하는 데 있어서는 어른들이 되라.

20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21 율법 안에 기록되기를, “다른 방언들과 다른 입술들을 지닌 사람들과 더불어 내가 이 백성에게 말하겠노라. 그런데 그 모든 것에도 불구하고 그들은 여전히 나의 말을 듣지 아니하리라. 주가 말하노라.” 하였도다.

21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 이런 이유로 방언들은 믿는 자들을 위한 것이 아니라 믿지 아니하는 자들을 위한 표적이라. 그러나 예언하는 것은 믿지 아니하는 자들을 위한 것이 아니라 믿는 자들을 위해 적합한 것이라.

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23 그러므로 만일 교회 전체가 한 곳으로 함께 모여 모두 방언들로 말할 때 그 언어를 배우지 아니한 자들이나 믿지 아니하는 자들이 들어온다면 그들은 너희가 미쳤다고 말하지 않겠느냐?

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24 그러나 만일 모두가 예언하는데 믿지 아니하는 이나 그 언어를 배우지 아니한 이가 들어온다면 그는 모두에 의하여 양심의 가책을 받으며, 그는 모두에 의하여 판단을 받느니라.

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25 그리하여 이와 같이 그의 마음의 비밀들이 명백하게 드러나게 되느니라. 그리하여 그는 자신의 얼굴을 대고 엎드려 하나님께 경배할 것이요, 참으로 너희 안에 하나님께서 계신다고 알릴 것이라.

25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26 그렇다면 형제들아, 어찌하랴? 너희가 함께 모일 때 너희 각자에게 어떤 시도 있고, 어떤 교리도 있으며, 어떤 방언도 있고, 어떤 계시도 있으며, 어떤 해석도 있느니라. 모든 것들이 행하여져서 세우는 것에 이르게 하라.

26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

27 만일 어떤 남자가 알려지지 않은 어떤 방언으로 말한다면 두 명에 의해서나 많아도 세 명에 의해서 하게 하되 차례대로 하게 하라. 그리고 한 명은 통역하게 하라.

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28 그러나 만일 통역자가 없다면 그로 하여금 교회 안에서 잠잠하게 하라. 그리고 그로 하여금 자신에게와 하나님께 말하게 하라.

28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29 예언자들은 두 명이나 세 명이 말하게 하고 다른 이들은 판단하게 하라.

29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

30 만일 곁에 앉아 있는 다른 이에게 어떤 것이 계시된다면 먼저 하던 이로 하여금 자신의 침묵을 지키게 하라.

30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

31 이는 너희가 한 명씩 모두 예언하게 하여 모두 이로써 모두 배우게 하고 또 모두 위로받게 하려는 것이기 때문이라.

31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

32 그런즉 예언자들의 영들은 예언자들에게 복종하느니라.

32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33 이는 성도들의 모든 교회들 안에서와 같이 하나님께서는 혼란의 창시자가 아니시요, 오직 화평의 창시자이시기 때문이라.

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

34 교회들 안에서 너희의 여자들을 잠잠하게 하라. 이는 그들에게 발언하는 것이 허락되지 아니하였기 때문이라. 율법도 말하는 것처럼 다만 그들은 순종 아래 있으라는 명령을 받았느니라.

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

35 그리고 만일 그들이 어떤 것이든 배우려 한다면 그들로 하여금 가정에서 자기 남편들에게 묻게 하라. 이는 여자들이 교회 안에서 발언하는 것은 수치이기 때문이라.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 무슨 소리냐? 하나님의 말씀이 너희에게서 나왔더냐? 아니면 그것이 너희에게만 이르렀느냐?

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37 만일 어떤 사람이 스스로를 예언자나 영적인 자라고 생각한다면 그로 하여금 내가 너희에게 기록하는 것들이 주의 명령들이라는 것을 인정하게 하라.

37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38 그러나 만일 어떤 사람이 무지하다면 그를 무지하게 두라.

38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 형제들아, 이런 이유로 예언하기를 사모하고 방언들로 말하는 것을 금하지 말라.

39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

40 모든 것들이 품위 있고 질서 있게 이루어지도록 하라.

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
