출애굽기 9장

1 그때 주께서 모세에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “파라오에게 들어가서 그에게 알리라. ‘히브리인들의 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 내 백성을 가게 하여 그들이 나를 섬길 수 있게 하라.

1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

2 이는 만일 네가 그들이 가는 것을 거절하고 그들을 계속 잡아 두려 한다면

2 For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,

3 보라, 주의 손이 들에 있는 너의 가축들과 말들과 나귀들과 낙타들과 소들과 양들 위에 있나니, 몹시 끔찍한 돌림병이 있을 것이기 때문이라.

3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.

4 그런즉 주가 이스라엘의 가축들과 이집트의 가축들 사이를 구별하리니, 이스라엘 자녀들에 속한 모든 것 중에는 아무것도 죽지 아니하리라.’”

4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.

5 그리고 주께서 정해진 시기를 지정하시며 말씀하시기를, “내일 이 지역 가운데서 주가 이 일을 행하리라.” 하셨느니라.

5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

6 그런즉 주께서 이튿날에 그 일을 행하셨으니, 이집트의 모든 가축들이 죽었더라. 그러나 이스라엘 자녀들의 가축들 중에는 하나도 죽지 아니하였더라.

6 And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

7 그러자 파라오가 사람을 보냈으니, 보라, 이스라엘인들의 가축들 중에서는 한 마리도 죽지 아니하였더라. 그런데 파라오의 마음이 완악해져서 그가 백성을 가게 하지 아니하였더라.

7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

8 ¶ 이에 주께서 모세와 아론에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “용광로에 있는 재들을 두 손 가득 너희에게로 집어 오라. 그런 다음에 모세로 하여금 파라오의 목전에서 하늘을 향하여 그것을 뿌리게 하라.

8 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

9 그리하면 그것이 이집트 전역에서 작은 티끌이 될 것이요, 이집트 전역에 걸쳐 사람 위와 짐승 위에 물집들이 터져 나오는 종기가 되리라.”

9 And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

10 그러자 그들이 용광로의 재들을 집고 파라오 앞에 섰더라. 그런 다음에 모세가 하늘을 향하여 그것을 위로 뿌렸더라. 이에 그것이 사람과 짐승 위에 물집들로 터져 나오는 종기가 되었더라.

10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.

11 이에 그 종기들 때문에 마술사들이 모세 앞에 설 수 없었더라. 이는 그 종기가 마술사들과 모든 이집트인들 위에 있었기 때문이라.

11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

12 그리고 주께서 모세에게 말씀하셨던 대로 주께서 파라오의 마음을 완악하게 하셨으니, 그가 그들에게 경청하지 아니하였더라.

12 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

13 ¶ 그런즉 주께서 모세에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “아침에 일찍 일어나 파라오 앞에 서서 그에게 이같이 말하라. ‘히브리인들의 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 내 백성을 가게 하여 그들이 나를 섬길 수 있게 하라.

13 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

14 이는 내가 이번에 나의 모든 재앙들을 너의 마음과 너의 종들과 너의 백성 위에 보낼 것이기 때문이니, 온 땅에 나 같은 이가 아무도 없다는 것을 너로 하여금 알게 하려 함이라.

14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

15 이는 이제 내가 역병으로 너와 너의 백성을 치고자 친히 내 손을 뻗을 것이기 때문이라. 그리하면 너는 땅에서 끊어지리라.

15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

16 그런즉 정녕코 이러한 까닭으로 내가 너를 일으켰나니, 내 권능을 네 안에 보임으로써 내 이름이 온 땅에 걸쳐 선포되게 하려 함이라.

16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

17 네가 여전히 내 백성을 대적하여 스스로를 크게 높이고 있으니, 네가 그들을 가게 하지 않으려 하느냐?

17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

18 보라, 내일 이 무렵에 내가 몹시 끔찍한 우박을 비처럼 내리겠으니, 그러한 것은 이집트의 기초가 세워진 이후에 지금까지도 그곳에 존재한 적이 없었노라.

18 Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.

19 그러므로 이제 사람을 보내서 너의 가축들과 들에 있는 너의 모든 소유를 모아들이라. 이는 집으로 들여오지 않고 들에서 발견될 모든 사람과 짐승 위에, 곧 그들 위에 저마다 우박이 떨어질 것이니, 그들이 죽으리라.’”

19 Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.

20 파라오의 종들 가운데 주의 말씀을 두려워한 자는 자기 종들과 자기 가축들을 집들 안으로 피신시켰더라.

20 He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:

21 그런데 주의 말씀을 유념하지 않은 자는 자기 종들과 자기 가축들을 들에 남겨 두었더라.

21 And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.

22 ¶ 그러자 주께서 모세에게 말씀하시기를, “하늘을 향하여 너의 손을 뻗어 이집트 전역, 곧 이집트 지역에 걸쳐 사람과 짐승과 들에 있는 각각의 야채 위에 우박이 있게 하라.” 하셨느니라.

22 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.

23 이에 모세가 하늘을 향하여 자기 막대기를 앞으로 뻗었으니, 주께서 천둥과 우박을 보내셨고 불이 지면을 따라 달려 나갔더라. 그리하여 주께서 이집트 지역 위에 우박을 비처럼 내리셨더라.

23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

24 그렇게 하여 매우 끔찍한 우박과 우박이 섞인 불이 있었으니, 이집트가 민족이 된 이래로 이집트 전역에 그것과 동일한 그와 같은 것이 전혀 없었더라.

24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

25 그리하여 우박이 이집트 전역에 걸쳐, 사람이고 짐승이고 할 것 없이 들에 있던 모든 것을 쳤으니, 우박이 들의 모든 야채마다 쳤으며 들의 모든 나무마다 부러뜨렸더라.

25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

26 단, 이스라엘 자녀들이 있던 고셴 지역 가운데는 우박이 없었더라.

26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

27 ¶ 그러자 파라오가 사람을 보내어 모세와 아론을 불러 그들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “이번에는 내가 죄를 지었도다. 주께서는 의로우시며 나와 내 백성은 사악하도다.

27 ¶ And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

28 더 이상 막강한 천둥들과 우박이 없도록 주께 간절히 요청하라. (이는 이만하면 충분하기 때문이라.) 그리하면 내가 너희를 가게 하리니, 더 이상 너희가 머무르지 아니하리라.”

28 Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.

29 이에 모세가 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “제가 도시에서 나가자마자 제 두 손을 주께 활짝 펼치겠나이다. 그리하면 천둥이 그칠 것이요, 우박도 더 이상 없을 것이니, 당신으로 하여금 땅이 주의 것임을 알게 하려 함이라.

29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD'S.

30 그러나 당신과 당신의 종들로 말하자면 당신들이 여전히 주 하나님을 두려워하지 않으리라는 것을 제가 아나이다.”

30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.

31 그리하여 아마풀과 보리가 타격을 입었으니, 보리는 이삭이 나왔고 아마풀은 꼬투리가 피었기 때문이라.

31 And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.

32 그러나 밀과 호밀은 타격을 입지 아니하였으니, 그것들이 자라지 아니하였기 때문이라.

32 But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.

33 그리하여 모세가 파라오를 떠나 도시에서 나간 다음에 자기 두 손을 주께 활짝 펼쳤더니, 천둥들과 우박이 그치고 비가 땅 위에 쏟아지지 아니하였더라.

33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.

34 그런데 비와 우박과 천둥들이 그친 것을 파라오가 보자 그가 여전히 죄를 더 지으며 자기 마음을 완악하게 하였으니, 그와 그의 종들이 마찬가지였더라.

34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

35 그런즉 주께서 모세를 통하여 말씀하셨던 대로 파라오의 마음이 완악하여져서 그가 또한 이스라엘 자녀들을 가게 하려고 하지 아니하였더라.

35 And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
