사무엘기상 30장
1 이윽고 다윗과 그의 사람들이 셋째 날에 지클락에 도착하였을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 아말렉족들이 남쪽과 지클락을 침략하였고 지클락을 쳐서 그곳을 불로 태웠더라.
1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
2 그리고 그 안에 있던 여자들을 포로들로 잡아갔더라. 그들이 큰 자나 작은 자나 누구도 살해하지 아니하였으나 그들을 잡아갔고 자신들의 길을 갔더라.
2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
3 ¶ 그렇게 하여 다윗과 그의 사람들이 그 도시에 이르렀는데, 보라, 그것이 불에 탔더라. 그리고 그들의 아내들과 그들의 아들들과 그들의 딸들이 포로들로 잡혀갔더라.
3 ¶ So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 그때 다윗과 그와 함께 있던 백성이 그들의 목소리를 높여 울었으니, 더 이상 자신들이 울 기력이 없을 때까지 하였더라.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 그리고 다윗의 두 아내들도 포로들로 잡혔으니, 곧 이즈르엘족 여인 아히노암과 칼멜족 나발의 아내였던 아비가일이라.
5 And David's two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 그러자 다윗이 대단히 괴로워하였더라. 이는 백성이 그를 돌로 쳐서 죽이는 것에 관하여 언급하였기 때문이요, 모든 백성의 혼이 비통해한 까닭이니, 모든 사람이 저마다 자신의 아들들과 자신의 딸들로 인하여 비통해하였더라. 그러나 다윗은 주 그의 하나님 안에서 스스로 용기를 내었더라.
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
7 그리고 다윗이 아히멜렉의 아들인 제사장 아비아달에게 말하기를, “내가 너에게 간구하노니, 에봇을 여기 나에게로 가져오라.” 하였더라. 그러자 아비아달이 에봇을 거기 다윗에게로 가져갔더라.
7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
8 그러자 다윗이 주께 여쭈며 말씀드리기를, “제가 이 군부대를 추격하리이까? 제가 그들을 따라잡으리이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 그분께서 그에게 대답하시기를, “뒤쫓아가라. 이는 네가 반드시 그들을 따라잡고 실패 없이 모든 것을 회복할 것이기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.
8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
9 그렇게 하여 다윗이 갔으니, 그는 자신과 함께하였던 육백 명의 남자들을 대동하여 브솔 시내에 이르렀더라. 그곳은 뒤로 처져서 남겨진 자들이 머문 곳이라.
9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
10 반면에 다윗은 추격하였으니, 그와 사백 명의 남자들이 함께하였더라. 이는 너무 기진하여서 브솔 시내를 건널 수 없었던 이백 명이 후방에 머물렀기 때문이라.
10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.
11 ¶ 이후에 그들이 들판에서 한 이집트인을 발견하여 그를 다윗에게 데려왔고 그에게 빵을 주었더니 그가 먹었더라. 그리고 그들이 그에게 물을 마시게 하였더라.
11 ¶ And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;
12 그리고 그들이 그에게 무화과들로 만든 둥글납작한 빵 한 조각과 건포도들 두 송이를 주었더라. 그러자 그가 먹었을 때 그의 영이 그에게 다시 돌아왔더라. 이는 그가 삼 일 낮과 삼 일 밤 동안 빵도 먹지 못하였고 물을 조금도 마시지 못하였기 때문이라.
12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
13 이윽고 다윗이 그에게 말하기를, “너는 누구에게 속하였느냐? 또 너는 어디 출신이냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 이같이 말하였더라. “저는 이집트 청년으로 어떤 아말렉족의 종이니이다. 그런데 저의 주인이 저를 버리고 떠났으니, 이는 삼 일 전에 제가 병들었기 때문이니이다.
13 And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.
14 우리가 크렛족들의 남쪽과 유다에 속해 있는 지경과 칼렙의 남쪽을 침략하였나이다. 그리고 우리가 지클락을 불로 태웠나이다.”
14 We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.
15 그러자 다윗이 그에게 말하기를, “너는 나를 이 집단에게로 데리고 내려갈 수 있겠느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 말하기를, “당신께서 저를 죽이지도 아니하시고 저를 저의 주인의 두 손안에 넘기지도 아니하겠다고 하나님으로 제게 맹세하여 주소서. 그리하면 제가 당신을 이 집단에게로 모시고 내려가겠나이다.” 하였더라.
15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
16 ¶ 이윽고 그가 그를 데리고 내려갔을 때, 보라, 그들은 자신들이 필리스티아인들의 지역과 유다 지역에서 취한 막대한 양의 모든 약탈물로 인하여 온 땅 위에 널리 퍼져서 먹고 마시고 춤추고 있었더라.
16 ¶ And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
17 그런즉 다윗이 황혼부터 다음 날 저녁에 이르기까지 그들을 쳤더라. 그리하여 그들 중에서 낙타들을 타고 도망친 사백 명의 청년들을 제외하고는 한 사람도 탈출하지 못하였더라.
17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
18 그리하여 다윗이 아말렉족들이 옮겨 가 버린 모든 것을 회복하였더라. 그리고 다윗이 자신의 두 아내들도 구조하였더라.
18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
19 그런데 그들에게 없어진 것이 아무것도 없었으니, 작은 자나 큰 자도, 아들들이나 딸들도, 탈취품이나 저들이 자신들에게로 빼앗아 온 어떤 것도 없어지지 아니하였더라. 다윗이 모든 것을 회복하였더라.
19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
20 그리고 다윗은 모든 양 떼들과 소 떼들을 취하였으니, 그들이 다른 가축들 앞에 그것들을 몰고 가며 말하기를, “이것은 다윗의 노획물이로다.” 하였더라.
20 And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil.
21 ¶ 이윽고 그들이 매우 기진하였기에 다윗을 따를 수 없었던 이백 명의 남자들에게로 다윗이 왔더라. 그들은 또한 저들이 브솔 시내에서 머물도록 한 자들이라. 그런즉 그들이 다윗을 맞이하고 그와 함께 있던 백성을 맞이하러 밖으로 나갔더라. 그리하여 다윗이 백성에게 가까이 왔고 그가 그들에게 문안하였더라.
21 ¶ And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.
22 그때 다윗과 함께 갔던 자들 중 사악한 모든 사람들, 곧 벨리알의 사람들이 반응하여 말하기를, “그들이 우리와 함께 가지 아니하였으므로 우리는 그들에게 우리가 회복한 노획물 가운데 아무것도 주지 아니하겠노라. 단, 모든 사람에게 저마다 그의 아내와 그의 자녀들을 주어 그들이 처자식들을 이끌고 떠나게 하겠노라.” 하였더라.
22 Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
23 그때 다윗이 이같이 말하였더라. “나의 형제들아, 주께서 우리에게 주신 것들로 너희가 그렇게 해서는 아니 되느니라. 그분은 우리를 보존하신 분이시요, 우리를 대적하러 왔던 집단을 우리의 손안에 넘겨주신 분이시라.
23 Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
24 그런즉 이 사안에 있어서 누가 너희에게 경청하겠느냐? 오히려 전투하러 내려가는 자의 지분과 물품 곁에 머문 자의 지분이 같아야 하리라. 그들은 똑같이 나눌지니라.”
24 For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
25 그런즉 그날 이후 이와 같은 일이 있었으니, 그가 그것을 이스라엘을 위한 규례와 법령으로 제정하여 오늘날에 이르게 된 것이라.
25 And it was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel unto this day.
26 ¶ 이후에 다윗이 지클락에 왔을 때 그가 유다의 장로들에게, 곧 자기 친구들에게 노획물 중 일부를 보내며 말하기를, “주의 원수들에게서 취한 노획물 중에서 너희를 위한 증여물을 보라.” 하였으니,
26 ¶ And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
27 곧 벧엘에 있던 자들에게요, 남쪽 라못에 있던 자들에게요, 얏틸에 있던 자들에게요,
27 To them which were in Bethel, and to them which were in south Ramoth, and to them which were in Jattir,
28 아로엘에 있던 자들에게요, 십못에 있던 자들에게요, 에슈트모아에 있던 자들에게요,
28 And to them which were in Aroer, and to them which were in Siphmoth, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,
29 라칼에 있던 자들에게요, 여라므엘족들의 도시들에 있던 자들에게요, 켄족들의 도시들에 있던 자들에게요,
29 And to them which were in Rachal, and to them which were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which were in the cities of the Kenites,
30 호르마에 있던 자들에게요, 코라샨에 있던 자들에게요, 아탁에 있던 자들에게요,
30 And to them which were in Hormah, and to them which were in Chorashan, and to them which were in Athach,
31 헤브론에 있던 자들에게요, 다윗 자신과 그의 사람들이 자주 다니곤 했던 모든 곳들이라.
31 And to them which were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men were wont to haunt.
