예레미야서 3장

1 그들이 말하기를, ‘만일 한 남자가 그의 아내를 버려서 그녀가 그를 떠나 다른 남자의 아내가 된다면 전 남편이 그녀에게 다시 되돌아오겠느냐? 그 지역이 대단히 오염되지 아니하겠느냐?’ 하느니라. 그러나 너는 많은 애인들과 창녀 짓을 하였어도 나에게로 다시 되돌아오라. 주가 말하노라.

1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.

2 높은 처소들을 향하여 너의 두 눈을 들어 올리라. 그리고 네가 눕혀지지 아니한 곳이 있나 보라. 너는 광야 가운데 있는 아라비아인같이 길들 가운데서 그들을 노리고 앉아 있었도다. 그리하여 너는 너의 매춘들과 너의 사악함으로 그 지역을 오염시켰도다.

2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.

3 그러므로 소나기들이 멎었고 나중 비가 없어졌도다. 그런데도 너는 음녀의 이마를 가졌으며, 너는 부끄러워하기를 거부하는도다.

3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

4 너는 이 시간부터라도 나에게 부르짖기를, ‘나의 아버지여, 당신께서는 저의 어린 시절의 안내자이시니이다.’ 하지 아니하겠느냐?

4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?

5 그가 그의 분노를 영원토록 간직하겠느냐? 그가 그것을 끝까지 견지하겠느냐? 보라, 너는 네가 할 수 있는 만큼 악한 것들을 말하고 행하였도다.”

5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.

6 ¶ 주께서 또한 요시야왕의 날들에 나에게 말씀하셨느니라. “타락한 이스라엘이 행한 것을 보았느냐? 그녀가 모든 높은 산 위와 모든 푸른 나무 아래로 저마다 올라가서는 거기서 창녀 짓을 하였도다.

6 ¶ The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

7 그리고 그녀가 이 모든 것들을 이미 행한 후에라도 내가 말하기를, ‘너는 나에게로 되돌아오라.’ 하였도다. 그러나 그녀는 되돌아오지 아니하였도다. 그러자 그녀의 배신하는 자매 유다가 그것을 보았도다.

7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

8 그리고 타락한 이스라엘이 그 모든 사유들로 간음하였을 때 내가 그녀를 버렸었고 그녀에게 이혼장을 주었었노라. 그럼에도 그녀의 배신하는 자매 유다가 두려워하지 아니하였고 오히려 가서 창녀 짓마저 한 것을 내가 보았도다.

8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

9 그리고 그녀의 매춘의 경박함을 통하여 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그녀가 그 토지를 더럽혔고 돌들과도, 통나무들과도 간음하였더라.

9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

10 그런데 이 모든 것으로도 여전히 그녀의 배신하는 자매 유다는 그녀의 온 마음으로 나에게 돌이키지 아니하고 흉내만 냈도다. 주가 말하노라.”

10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.

11 이후에 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨도다. “타락한 이스라엘은 배신하는 유다보다 그녀 자신을 더 정당화하였도다.

11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

12 ¶ 가서 북쪽을 향하여 이 말들을 반포하여 이같이 말하라. 너, 타락한 이스라엘아, 되돌아오라. 주가 말하노라. 그런즉 나는 나의 분노를 너희 위에 닥치게 하지 아니하겠노라. 이는 내가 자비롭기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라. 그런즉 나는 분노를 영원토록 간직하지 아니하겠노라.

12 ¶ Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.

13 오로지 너의 죄악을 인정하기만 하라. 그 죄악은 네가 주 너의 하나님을 대적하여 불법을 행하고 너의 길들을 저마다 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 타국인들에게로 흩은 것이요, 너희가 나의 음성에 순종하지 아니한 것이로다. 주가 말하노라.

13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

14 오, 타락한 자녀들아, 돌이키라. 주가 말하노라. 이는 내가 너희와 혼인하였기 때문이라. 그런즉 나는 너희를 취하겠으니, 한 도시에서 한 명을, 한 족속에서 두 명을 취하여 내가 너희를 시온으로 데려오겠노라.

14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

15 그리하면 나는 나의 마음에 맞는 목양자들을 너희에게 주겠으니, 그들이 너희를 지식과 명철로 먹이리라.

15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

16 그런즉 너희가 그날들에 그 지역 안에서 번성하고 융성해질 때 이러한 일이 있으리니, 주가 말하노라. 그들이 더 이상 ‘주의 언약궤’라고 말하지 아니하리라. 또한 그 기억이 떠오르지도 아니할 것이요, 그들이 그것을 기억하지도 아니할 것이요, 그들이 그것을 찾아가지도 아니할 것이니, 그것이 더 이상 기능하지도 아니하리라.

16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

17 그때에는 그들이 예루살렘을 주의 보좌라 부를 것이요, 모든 민족들이 거기로 모이리니, 주의 이름으로 예루살렘에 모이리라. 더 이상 그들이 자신들의 악한 마음의 상상을 따라 살아가지도 아니하리라.

17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

18 그날들에는 유다 집이 이스라엘 집과 동행할 것이요, 그들이 북쪽 지역에서 함께 나와서 내가 너희 조상들에게 유산으로 준 지역으로 오리라.

18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

19 그러나 내가 말하기를, ‘어떻게 내가 너를 자녀들 가운데 두고, 너에게 기쁨을 주는 지역을 주며, 민족들의 군대들에 속한 우수한 상속지를 주랴?’ 하였노라. 그리고 내가 말하기를, ‘너는 나를 ‘나의 아버지’라 부를지니라. 그리고 나에게서 돌아서지 말지니라.’ 하였노라.”

19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

20 ¶ 오, 이스라엘 집아, 마치 아내가 그녀의 남편을 배신하고 떠나는 것같이 그렇게 너희가 나를 배신하였도다. 주가 말하노라.

20 ¶ Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.

21 높은 처소들 위에서 목소리가 들렸으니, 이스라엘 자녀들의 울음과 간구들이라. 이는 그들이 자신들의 길을 오도하였기 때문이니, 그들이 주 그들의 하나님을 잊었도다.

21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.

22 너희, 타락한 자녀들아, 되돌아오라. 그리하면 내가 너희의 타락들을 치유하겠노라. 보소서, 우리가 당신께로 오나이다. 이는 당신께서 주 우리 하나님이시기 때문이니이다.

22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

23 언덕들로부터, 또 산들의 허다함으로부터 구원을 소망하는 것은 참으로 허사이니이다. 참으로 주 우리 하나님 안에 이스라엘의 구원이 있나이다.

23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

24 이는 수치가 우리의 젊은 시절부터 우리 조상들의 수고, 곧 그들의 양 떼들과 그들의 소 떼들과 그들의 아들들과 그들의 딸들을 집어삼켰기 때문이니이다.

24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

25 우리가 우리의 수치 가운데 드러눕고, 우리의 당혹감이 우리를 덮나이다. 이는 우리가 주 우리 하나님을 대적하여 죄를 지었기 때문이니이다. 우리의 젊은 시절부터 오늘날에 이르기까지 우리와 우리의 조상들은 주 우리 하나님의 음성에 순종하지 아니하였나이다.

25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
