예레미야서 31장

1 주가 말하노라. 바로 그 시간에 내가 이스라엘의 모든 족속들의 하나님이 되겠고, 그들은 나의 백성이 되리라.

1 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

2 주가 이같이 말하노라. 칼을 피하여 남겨진 백성이 광야 가운데서 은혜를 발견하였도다. 바로 이스라엘이니, 내가 그로 하여금 안식하게 하려고 갔던 때로다.

2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

3 예로부터 주께서 나에게 나타나시며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “진정 나는 하나의 영원한 사랑으로 너를 사랑해 왔노라. 그러므로 인애를 가지고 내가 너를 끌어당겨 왔노라.

3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

4 오, 처녀 이스라엘아, 다시 내가 너를 짓겠으니, 네가 지어지리라. 다시 너는 너의 작은북들과 함께 단장될 것이요, 흥취를 돋우는 자들이 춤들을 추며 전진하리라.

4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

5 너는 더구나 사마리아의 산들 위에 포도나무들을 심으리라. 심는 자들은 심을 것이요, 그런 다음에 그것들을 흔한 것들같이 먹으리라.

5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

6 이는 파수꾼들이 에프라임산 위에서 소리치기를, ‘너희는 일어나라, 그리하여 우리가 시온으로 올라가서 주 우리 하나님께 향하자.’ 할 날이 있을 것이기 때문이라.

6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

7 이는 주가 이같이 말하기 때문이라. 야곱을 위하여 반가움으로 노래하고 민족들의 우두머리 사이에서 함성을 지르라. 너희는 공표하라. 너희는 찬송하며 말하기를, ‘오, 주여, 당신의 백성 이스라엘의 남은 자들을 구원하소서.’ 하라.

7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

8 보라, 내가 그들을 북방 나라에서 데려오고 땅의 지경들에서부터 그들을 모으리니, 눈먼 자와 절뚝거리는 자와, 아이를 밴 여자와 아이를 밴 채 산고를 치르는 여인을 함께 모으겠노라. 커다란 집단이 거기로 되돌아오리라.

8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

9 그들이 울음과 함께 오리니, 내가 그들을 간구들과 함께 이끌겠노라. 내가 그들로 하여금 곧은 길 가운데서 물들이 흐르는 강가들을 거닐게 하겠으니, 그 안에서 그들은 걸려 넘어지지 아니하리라. 이는 내가 이스라엘에게 아버지요, 에프라임은 나의 첫 태생이기 때문이라.”

9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

10 ¶ 주의 말을 들으라. 오, 너희 민족들아, 그리하여 멀리 떨어진 섬들 안에서 그것을 선언하며 이같이 말하라. 이스라엘을 흩으신 분께서 그를 모으실 것이요, 그를 지키실 것이니, 목자가 자기 양 떼에게 하듯 하시리라.

10 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

11 이는 주께서 야곱을 구속하셨고, 야곱보다 더 강한 자의 손에서 그를 속량하셨기 때문이라.

11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

12 그러므로 그들이 와서 시온의 높은 곳 안에서 노래할 것이요, 주의 선하심으로 함께 흘러갈 것이니, 밀을 위함이요, 포도즙을 위함이요, 기름을 위함이요, 양 떼의 어린것을 위함이요, 소 떼의 어린것을 위함이라. 그리고 그들의 혼이 물 댄 동산 같으리라. 그런즉 그들은 더 이상 전혀 슬퍼하지 아니하리라.

12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13 그때 그 처녀가 춤추며 크게 기뻐할 것이요, 청년들과 늙은이들도 함께 그러하리라. 이는 내가 그들의 애곡을 즐거움으로 바꿀 것이기 때문이요, 그들을 위로할 것이기 때문이요, 그들로 하여금 그들의 슬픔에서 떠나 크게 기뻐하도록 할 것이기 때문이라.

13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 그리고 내가 기름진 것으로 제사장들의 혼을 충분히 만족시킬 것이요, 나의 백성은 나의 선함으로 만족하리라. 주가 말하노라.

14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

15 ¶ 주가 이같이 말하노라. 한 음성이 라마흐에서 들려왔나니, 애통함이요, 쓰라린 울음이라. 그녀의 아이들을 위하여 우는 라-헬이 그녀의 아이들로 인하여 위로받기를 거부하였으니, 그들이 없기 때문이라.

15 ¶ Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

16 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너의 음성을 자제하여 울음을 그치라. 그리고 너의 눈들을 자제하여 눈물들을 그치라. 이는 너의 행위가 보상받을 것이기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라. 그런즉 원수의 지역으로부터 그들이 다시 오리라.

16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

17 그리고 너의 끝에는 소망이 있느니라. 주가 말하노라. 곧, 너의 자식들이 그들 자신의 경계로 다시 오리라.

17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

18 ¶ 에프라임이 이같이 스스로 통탄하는 것을 내가 확실히 들었도다. “당신께서 저를 징계하셨으니, 저는 멍에에 길들여지지 아니한 수송아지같이 징계받았나이다. 당신께서 저를 돌이켜 주소서. 그리하면 제가 돌이켜지겠나이다. 이는 당신께서 주 나의 하나님이시기 때문이니이다.

18 ¶ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.

19 제가 돌이켜진 이후에 확실히 제가 회개하였나이다. 그리고 제가 교훈을 받은 이후에 제가 저의 넓적다리를 쳤나이다. 제가 부끄러웠나니, 진정 당혹스럽기까지 하였나이다. 이는 제가 저의 젊은 시절의 치욕을 짊어진 까닭이니이다.”

19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

20 에프라임은 나의 소중한 아들이냐? 그가 기쁨을 주는 한 자식이냐? 이는 내가 그를 대적하여 말한 이래 나는 그를 계속 열렬하게 기억하노라. 그러므로 그로 인하여 나의 심정이 괴롭도다. 나는 반드시 그의 위에 자비를 베풀겠노라. 주가 말하노라.

20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

21 ¶ 너에게 이정표들을 세우라. 너에게 높은 무더기들을 쌓으라. 대로, 곧 네가 간 그 길을 향하여 너의 마음을 고정시키라. 오, 처녀 이스라엘아, 다시 돌이키라, 너의 이 도시들로 다시 돌이키라.

21 ¶ Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

22 오, 너, 타락한 딸아, 얼마나 오랫동안 너는 서성이려느냐? 이는 주가 새로운 것을 땅에 창조하였기 때문이니, 여자가 남자를 둘러쌀 것이라.

22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

23 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 내가 그들의 포로를 다시 데려올 때 여전히 그들이 유다 지역 안과 그곳의 도시들 안에서 이 말을 쓰게 되는 것과 같도다. 오, 정의의 거처와 거룩함의 산아, 주가 너에게 복을 주기를 바라노라.

23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

24 그리고 유다 자체와 그곳의 모든 도시들 안에서 농부들과 양 떼들을 데리고 밖으로 나가는 자들이 함께 지내리라.

24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.

25 이는 지친 혼을 내가 충분히 만족시켰으며, 슬퍼하는 모든 혼을 내가 저마다 다시 채웠기 때문이라.

25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

26 이 위에서 내가 깨어나서 보았도다. 그리고 나의 잠이 내게 달았도다.

26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.

27 ¶ 보라, 그날들이 오나니, 주가 말하노라. 곧, 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다 집을 사람의 씨와 짐승의 씨와 함께 뿌리겠노라.

27 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

28 그리고 이러한 일이 있으리니, 내가 뽑아내고 부수고 무너뜨리고 멸망시키고 고난을 주려고 그것들을 지켜보았던 것처럼 내가 건축하고 심으려고 그렇게 그들을 지켜보겠노라. 주가 말하노라.

28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

29 그날들에는 그들이 더 이상 “아버지들이 신 포도를 먹었더니 자녀들의 이가 시큰거린다.” 하고 말하지 아니하리라.

29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

30 그러나 모두 저마다 자기 자신의 죄악 때문에 죽으리라. 신 포도를 먹은 모든 자마다 자신의 치아들이 시큰거리리라.

30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

31 ¶ 보라, 주가 말하노라. 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다 집과 더불어 새 언약을 맺을 그날들이 오나니,

31 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 그것은 내가 이집트 지역에서 그들의 조상들을 손으로 데리고 나온 그날에 내가 그들과 맺은 언약에 따른 것이 아니니라. 비록 내가 그들에게 남편이었을지라도 그들이 나의 언약을 파기한 것이라. 주가 말하노라.

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

33 그러나 내가 이스라엘 집과 맺을 언약은 이러하도다. 주가 말하노라. 그날들 이후에 내가 나의 법을 그들의 심중에 두고 그것을 그들의 마음속에 기록하겠노라. 그리하면 나는 그들의 하나님이 될 것이요, 그들은 나의 백성이 되리라.

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 그리하면 그들은 더 이상 각인이 자기 이웃에게, 각인이 자기 형제에게 “주를 알라.” 하는 말로 가르치지 아니하리라. 이는 그들 중 가장 작은 자부터 그들 중 가장 큰 자까지 모두 나를 알 것이기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라. 이는 내가 그들의 죄악을 용서할 것이요, 내가 그들의 죄를 더 이상 기억하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

35 ¶ 주가 이같이 말하노라. 그는 낮에는 해를 빛으로 주고, 밤에는 달과 별들의 법령들을 빛으로 주는 이요, 그는 바다의 파도들이 포효할 때 바다를 나누는 이라. 만군의 주가 그의 이름이로다.

35 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

36 만일 그 법령들이 내 앞에서 떠난다면, 그때는 이스라엘의 씨도 내 앞에서 민족이 되는 것에서 영원히 끊어지리라. 주가 말하노라.

36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37 주가 이같이 말하노라. 만일 위로 하늘이 측량될 수 있고 아래로 땅의 기초들이 샅샅이 탐색될 수 있다면, 나 또한 이스라엘의 모든 씨가 행한 모든 것으로 인하여 그들을 던져 버리겠노라. 주가 말하노라.

37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

38 ¶ 보라, 그날들이 오나니, 주가 말하노라. 곧, 그 도시가 하나느엘 망대부터 모퉁이의 대문까지 건축되어 주께 바쳐지리라.

38 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

39 그리고 측량줄이 가렙 언덕 위 그곳의 맞은편으로 나갈 것이요, 고앗의 주위를 둘러싸리라.

39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

40 그리고 시신들의 골짜기와 재들의 골짜기 전체와, 키드론 시내에 이르는 모든 들판들과, 동쪽을 향한 말문의 모퉁이까지 주께 거룩하게 되리라. 그것이 더 이상 영원토록 뽑히지도, 무너지지도 아니하리라.

40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
