욥기 17장

1 나의 호흡이 부패되고 나의 날들은 종식되며 무덤들이 나를 위하여 준비되는도다.

1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

2 조롱하는 자들이 저와 함께 있지 아니하나이까? 저의 눈은 그들의 도발을 지속적으로 보고 있지 아니하나이까?

2 Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?

3 이제 내려놓으소서. 저를 당신과 함께 보증인으로 넣어 주소서. 저와 손들을 마주칠 자가 누구니이까?

3 Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

4 이는 당신께서 그들의 마음을 명철로부터 가리셨기 때문이니이다. 그러므로 당신께서 그들을 크게 높이지 아니하시리이다.

4 For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.

5 자기 친구들에게 아첨을 말하는 자, 바로 그의 자녀들의 눈은 쇠하리라.

5 He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

6 그분은 나를 또한 백성의 조롱거리로 만드셨도다. 그런즉 예전에 나는 작은북 같았도다.

6 He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.

7 슬픔을 이유로 하여 나의 눈도 흐릿해졌고 나의 모든 지체들이 그림자 같도다.

7 Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

8 올바른 사람들은 이 일에 경악할 것이요, 무고한 자들은 위선자를 대적하여 스스로를 각성시키리라.

8 Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

9 의로운 자도 자신의 길을 유지할 것이요, 두 손을 정결하게 한 자는 더 강해지고 강해지리라.

9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

10 그러나 너희 모두로 말하자면 너희는 되돌아오라. 그리하여 지금 오라. 이는 내가 너희 가운데 지혜로운 사람을 한 명도 발견할 수 없기 때문이라.

10 But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.

11 나의 날들은 지나갔고 나의 결단들, 곧 나의 마음의 생각들이 끊어졌도다.

11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

12 그것들이 밤을 낮으로 바꾸는도다. 어둠 때문에 빛이 짧도다.

12 They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

13 만일 내가 기다린다면 음부가 나의 집이 되는도다. 나는 어둠 속에서 나의 침상을 만들었도다.

13 If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

14 내가 부패에게 말하기를, ‘너는 나의 아버지로다.’ 하였고, 구더기에게는 ‘너는 나의 어머니요, 나의 누이라.’ 하였도다.

14 I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.

15 그런즉 이제 나의 소망이 어디에 있느냐? 나의 소망으로 말하자면 누가 그것을 보겠느냐?

15 And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

16 우리의 안식이 함께 진토 속에 있을 때 그것들이 구렁의 빗장들로 내려가리라.”

16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
