욥기 21장

1 그러나 욥이 대답하여 이같이 말하였더라.

1 But Job answered and said,

2 “나의 이야기를 부지런히 듣고 이것이 너희의 위안들이 되게 하라.

2 Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.

3 내가 이야기하도록 나를 용납하라. 그러고 난 뒤에야 내가 이야기한 것을 조롱하라.

3 Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

4 나로 말하자면 내가 사람에게 한탄하느냐? 그런즉 만일 그것이 그러하다면 어찌하여 나의 영이 괴로워하지 아니하겠느냐?

4 As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?

5 나를 유의해 보고 경악하며 너희 손을 너희 입에 올리라.

5 Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.

6 심지어 내가 기억할 때조차 나는 무섭나니, 떨림이 나의 육체를 붙잡는도다.

6 Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.

7 어찌 사악한 자가 살아 있고 나이가 들며, 진정 권세에 있어서도 막강하냐?

7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?

8 그들의 씨가 그들의 목전에서 그들과 함께 확고히 세워지나니, 그들의 후예도 그들의 눈 앞에서 그러하도다.

8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.

9 그들의 집은 두려움에서 안전하며, 하나님의 막대기가 그들 위에 임하지도 아니하는도다.

9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

10 그들의 수소는 생식하고 실패하지 아니하는도다. 그들의 암소는 새끼를 낳고 그녀의 송아지를 유산하지 아니하는도다.

10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.

11 그들은 자신들의 어린것들을 양 떼처럼 내보내고 그들의 자식들은 춤을 추는도다.

11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

12 그들은 탬버린과 하프를 취하여 오르간 소리에 맞추어 크게 기뻐하는도다.

12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.

13 그들이 부를 누리며 자신들의 날들을 보내다가 한순간에 음부로 내려가는도다.

13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.

14 그러므로 그들이 하나님께 이같이 말씀드리느니라. ‘저희에게서 떠나소서. 이는 저희가 당신의 길들을 아는 것을 희망하지 않기 때문이니이다.

14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

15 전능하신 분이 무엇이기에 저희가 그분을 섬겨야 하나이까? 또 만일 저희가 그분께 기도한다면 저희가 무슨 유익을 얻겠나이까?’

15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?

16 보라, 그들의 선이 그들의 손안에 있지 아니하느니라. 사악한 자의 계획은 나에게서 멀리 떨어져 있도다.

16 Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

17 사악한 자의 불빛이 얼마나 자주 꺼뜨려지는가! 또 그들의 멸망이 얼마나 자주 그들 위에 임하는가! 하나님께서 그분의 진노 속에서 슬픔들을 나누어 주시는도다.

17 How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.

18 그들이 바람 앞에 있는 그루터기와 같고, 폭풍이 휩쓸어 가는 쭉정이와 같도다.

18 They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.

19 하나님께서 그의 죄악을 그의 자식들을 위하여 쌓아 올리시는도다. 그분께서 그에게 보응하시나니, 그가 그것을 알리라.

19 God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.

20 그의 두 눈이 그의 멸망을 볼 것이요, 그가 전능하신 분의 진노를 마시리라.

20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

21 그러므로 그의 달수가 중간에 끊어져 버릴 때면 그의 뒤에 남겨진 그의 집 안에서 그에게 무슨 기쁨이 있겠느냐?

21 For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?

22 그분께서 높이 있는 자들을 심판하시는 것을 보면서 누가 하나님께 지식을 가르치겠느냐?

22 Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.

23 어떤 사람은 그의 힘이 가득하며, 완전히 안락하고 평강을 누리는 가운데 죽는도다.

23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.

24 그의 가슴은 젖으로 가득 찼도다. 그의 뼈들은 골수로 촉촉해지는도다.

24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.

25 그런데 또 다른 사람은 그의 혼의 쓰라림 가운데 죽나니, 결코 기쁨으로 먹지 못하는도다.

25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.

26 그들이 똑같이 진토 속에 누울 것이요, 벌레들이 그들을 덮으리라.

26 They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.

27 보라, 내가 너희의 생각들과, 너희가 나를 대적하여 부당하게 구상한 계책들을 아노라.

27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.

28 이는 너희가 말하기를, ‘통치자의 집이 어디 있느냐? 또 사악한 자의 거주지들이 어디 있느냐?’ 하기 때문이라.

28 For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?

29 너희가 길을 지나다니는 자들에게 물은 적이 없느냐? 그런즉 너희는 그들의 징표들을 모르느냐?

29 Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,

30 곧, 사악한 자가 멸망의 날까지 유보되었다는 것이라. 그들이 진노의 날에 끌어내지리라.

30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

31 누가 그의 얼굴에 대고 그의 길을 선언하겠느냐? 또 누가 그가 행한 것을 그에게 되갚겠느냐?

31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?

32 그럼에도 그는 무덤으로 인도될 것이요, 묘지 안에 남으리라.

32 Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.

33 골짜기의 흙덩이들이 그에게 달콤할 것이요, 그의 앞에 무수한 자들이 있는 것같이 모든 사람마다 그를 따라 모여들리라.

33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.

34 그런즉 너희의 대답들 속에 거짓이 남아 있는 것을 보면서 어떻게 너희는 나를 헛되이 위로하고 있느냐?”

34 How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
