이사야서 17장

1 다마스쿠스에 대한 엄중한 부담이라. 보라, 다마스쿠스는 도시가 되는 것에서 제외되나니, 그곳은 폐허 더미가 되리라.

1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2 아로엘의 도시들은 버려지느니라. 그것들은 양 떼들을 위한 곳이 되리니, 양 떼들이 드러누울지라도 그것들을 무섭게 만들 자가 아무도 없으리라.

2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

3 에프라임에서 견고한 요새도 끊어질 것이요, 다마스쿠스에서 왕국이 끊어지고, 시리아의 남은 자들이 끊어지리라. 그들은 이스라엘 자녀들의 영광같이 되리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.

4 그리고 그날에 이러한 일이 있으리니, 야곱의 영광이 쇠약해지고 그의 살의 기름짐이 점점 야위게 되리라.

4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

5 그리고 그것은 마치 수확하는 사람이 곡식을 모으고 그의 팔로 이삭들을 거둘 때와 같을 것이요, 그것은 르파임 골짜기에서 이삭들을 모으는 자와 같으리라.

5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.

6 ¶ 아직은 그곳 안에 주울 만한 포도들이 남아 있으리니, 마치 올리브나무를 흔들 때 가장 위쪽 원가지 꼭대기에 과실들이 두세 개 남은 것과 같고, 열매로 가득한 그것의 가지들 맨 바깥 쪽에 네다섯 개 남은 것과 같으리라. 이스라엘의 주 하나님이 말하노라.

6 ¶ Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.

7 그날에 사람이 그를 만든 이를 바라볼 것이요, 그의 두 눈이 이스라엘의 거룩한 이에게 주의를 기울이리라.

7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.

8 그리고 그는 자기 두 손의 작업물인 제단들을 바라보지 아니할 것이요, 자기 손가락들이 만든 작은 수풀들이나 형상들도 존중하지 아니하리라.

8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.

9 ¶ 그날에 그의 강한 도시들은 버려진 원가지와, 이스라엘 자녀들로 인하여 그들이 남긴 가장 위쪽 가지 같으리니, 거기에 황량함이 있으리라.

9 ¶ In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.

10 이는 네가 너의 구원의 하나님을 잊어버렸고, 너의 힘의 반석을 염두에 두지 아니하였기 때문이라. 그러므로 네가 기쁨을 주는 초목들을 심으리니, 그것을 타국의 가지들로 접붙이리라.

10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:

11 그날에 너는 너의 초목을 자라게 하리니, 너는 아침에 너의 씨가 꽃피게 하리라. 다만 그 수확물은 비통함의 날과 절망적인 슬픔의 날에 무더기를 이루리라.

11 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.

12 ¶ 바다들의 소음처럼 소음을 내는 많은 백성들의 무리에게, 또 막강한 물들이 몰려드는 것처럼 몰려드는 민족들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

12 ¶ Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!

13 많은 물들이 몰려드는 것같이 민족들이 몰려들리라. 그러나 하나님께서 그들을 꾸짖으시리니, 그들은 멀리 떨어진 곳으로 도망할 것이요, 바람 앞에 있는 산들의 쭉정이같이 쫓길 것이요, 회오리바람 앞에서 돌고 도는 것같이 쫓기리라.

13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.

14 그런즉 저녁때의 곤경을 보라. 그리하여 아침이 오기 전에 그는 존재하지 아니하는도다. 이것이 우리를 약탈하는 자들의 몫이요, 우리를 강탈하는 자들의 분깃이라.

14 And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
