이사야서 6장

1 웃지야왕이 죽은 해에 내가 주께서 높고 위로 들린 보좌 위에 앉아계신 것을 보았는데, 그분의 긴 옷자락이 성전을 가득 채웠더라.

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 그 위에는 스랍들이 섰는데 각자 여섯 날개들을 가졌더라. 그가 두 날개들로는 자기 얼굴을 가렸고, 그가 두 날개들로는 자기 두 발을 가렸으며, 그가 두 날개들로는 날았더라.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 그리고 하나가 다른 하나에게 소리치며 말하기를, “만군의 주께서는 거룩하시도다, 거룩하시도다, 거룩하시도다. 온 땅이 그분의 영광으로 충만하도다.” 하였더라.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 그러자 그 소리친 자의 음성에 문기둥들이 움직였고 그 집은 연기로 가득 찼더라.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 ¶ 그때 내가 말하기를, “나에게 화로다! 이는 내가 망하였기 때문이요, 내가 불결한 입술을 가진 사람이며, 내가 불결한 입술을 가진 백성 한가운데 거하는 까닭이라. 이는 나의 두 눈이 만군의 주이신 왕을 보았기 때문이라.” 하였더라.

5 ¶ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 그때 그 스랍들 중 하나가 자신이 제단에서 부집게로 집어와 불씨가 살아 있는 숯을 자기 손에 든 채 나에게 날아들었더라.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 그러고는 그가 그것을 나의 입에 올리며 말하기를, “보라, 이것이 너의 입술에 닿았으니, 너의 죄악이 제거되었고 너의 죄가 깨끗하게 되었도다.” 하였더라.

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 또한 내가 주의 음성을 들었는데 말씀하시기를, “내가 누구를 보내야 하겠느냐? 또 누가 우리를 위하여 가겠느냐?” 하셨느니라. 그때 내가 이렇게 말씀드렸으니, “제가 여기 있나이다. 저를 보내소서.” 하였더라.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 ¶ 그러자 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “가서 이 백성에게 알리라. ‘너희가 정녕 듣기는 하나, 이해하지 못하는도다. 또 너희가 정녕 보기는 하나, 알아차리지 못하는도다.’

9 ¶ And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 이 백성의 마음을 살찌게 하고, 그들의 귀를 무겁게 하며, 그들의 눈을 감기게 하라. 이는 그들로 하여금 자신들의 눈으로 보지 못하게 하려 함이요, 자신들의 귀로 듣지 못하게 하려 함이요, 자신들의 마음으로 이해하지 못하게 하려 함이요, 회심하여 치유받지 못하게 하려 함이라.”

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

11 그때 내가 말씀드리기를, “주여, 얼마나 오랫동안이니이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 그분께서 대답하셨느니라. “도시들이 거주자 없이 황폐해지고, 집들에는 사람이 없고, 그 지역이 모조리 황량해질 때까지요,

11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

12 주가 사람들을 멀리 옮겨 버려서 이 지역의 중심부에 심한 버려짐이 있을 때까지라.

12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 ¶ 그러나 아직은 그곳 안에 십분의 일이 있을 것이요, 그것이 되돌아와 먹힐 것이라. 보리수나무같이, 또 상수리나무같이 그것들이 자신들의 잎들을 떨어뜨릴 때 그것들의 본체가 그것들 안에 있듯이 그처럼 거룩한 씨도 그것의 본체가 되리라.”

13 ¶ But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
