이사야서 64장

1 오, 당신께서 하늘들을 찢으시기를, 당신께서 내려오시기를, 산들이 당신의 면전에서 흘러내리기를 바라오니,

1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

2 마치 녹아내리는 불이 타오를 때 그 불이 물들을 끓어 오르게 하는 것처럼 당신의 이름을 당신의 대적들에게 알리사 민족들이 당신의 면전에서 떨게 하소서!

2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

3 당신께서 저희가 기대하지 아니하였던 공포스러운 것들을 행하셨을 때 당신께서 내려오셨고 산들이 당신의 면전에서 아래로 흘러내렸나이다.

3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

4 오, 하나님이여, 이는 그분께서 세상의 시작 이래 그분을 기다리는 자를 위하여 예비하신 것은 당신을 제외하면 사람들은 들은 적도, 귀로 알게 된 적도 없으며, 눈이 본 적도 없기 때문이니이다.

4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

5 당신께서는 크게 기뻐하며 의를 행하는 자와 당신의 길들 가운데서 당신을 기억하는 자들을 만나 주시나이다. 보소서, 당신께서 진노하셨나이다. 이는 저희가 죄를 지었기 때문이니이다. 당신의 길들이 지속되나니 저희가 구원을 받으리이다.

5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

6 그러나 우리는 모두 불결한 것 같고, 우리의 모든 의는 더러운 누더기들 같나이다. 그리고 우리는 모두 잎사귀같이 시드나이다. 그런즉 우리의 죄악들이 바람처럼 우리를 쓸어버렸나이다.

6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

7 그리고 당신의 이름을 부르는 자가 아무도 없고, 당신을 붙들고자 스스로를 일깨우는 자도 없나이다. 이는 당신께서 당신의 얼굴을 저희에게서 숨기셨고, 저희의 죄악들로 인하여 저희를 소멸시키셨기 때문이니이다.

7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

8 그러나 이제는 오, 주여, 당신께서는 우리의 아버지시니이다. 저희는 진흙이요, 당신께서는 우리의 토기장이시니이다. 그런즉 저희 모두는 당신의 손의 작품이니이다.

8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

9 ¶ 오, 주여, 너무 심히 진노하지 마소서. 영원토록 죄악을 기억하지도 마소서. 보소서, 저희가 당신께 간청하오니 살펴보소서. 저희는 모두 당신의 백성이니이다.

9 ¶ Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.

10 당신의 거룩한 도시들은 광야이니, 시온은 광야요, 예루살렘은 황무지니이다.

10 Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

11 저희의 조상들이 당신을 찬양하던 저희의 거룩한 집, 곧 저희의 아름다운 집이 불타 버렸나이다. 그런즉 우리의 기쁨이 되던 모든 것들이 황폐하게 되었나이다.

11 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

12 오, 주여, 이러한 것들에도 당신께서는 스스로 억제하시겠나이까? 당신께서는 당신의 침묵을 지키시어 저희를 아주 심히 괴롭히시겠나이까?

12 Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
