이사야서 58장

1 크게 외치라. 아끼지 말고 너의 목소리를 나팔처럼 높이라. 그리하여 나의 백성에게 그들의 불법을, 야곱의 집에 그들의 죄들을 보이라.

1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2 그럼에도 그들은 의를 행하고, 그들의 하나님의 법령을 저버리지 아니한 민족처럼 매일 나를 찾고, 내 길들을 아는 것을 크게 즐거워하는도다. 그들은 정의의 법령들을 나에게 구하는도다. 그들은 하나님께 다가가는 것을 크게 즐거워하는도다.

2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

3 ¶ 그들이 말하기를, “우리가 금식하였는데도 어찌 당신께서는 보지 아니하시나이까? 우리가 우리 혼을 괴롭게 하였는데 어찌 당신께서는 전혀 알아주지 아니하시나이까?” 하는도다. 보라, 너희가 금식하는 날에 너희는 쾌락을 찾으며 너희가 수고한 모든 것들을 받아내는도다.

3 ¶ Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

4 보라, 너희가 분쟁과 논쟁을 위하여 금식하고 사악함의 주먹으로 치려고 하는도다. 너희는 너희 음성이 높은 곳에 들리게 하려고 너희가 이날에 한 것같이 금식하지는 말라.

4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 그것이 내가 선택한 그러한 금식이냐? 그것이 사람이 자기 혼을 괴롭게 하는 날이냐? 그것이 파피루스같이 자기 머리를 아래로 숙이고 그의 아래에 굵은 베와 재들을 펼치는 것이냐? 너는 이것을 금식이라 부르고, 주께 기꺼이 받아들여질 만한 날이라 부르겠느냐?

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

6 내가 선택한 금식은 이것이 아니냐? 곧, 사악함의 포박들을 풀어주는 것이요, 무거운 부담들을 벗겨 주는 것이요, 압제받는 자들을 자유로이 가게 하여 너희가 모든 멍에마다 꺾는 것이 아니냐?

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 그것은 배고픈 자들에게 너의 빵을 나누어 주며 네가 쫓겨난 가난한 자들을 너의 집으로 데려오는 것이 아니냐? 네가 벌거벗은 자를 볼 때 네가 그를 덮어 주는 것이요, 네가 너 자신의 살붙이로부터 자신을 숨기지 않는 것이 아니냐?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 ¶ 그때 너의 빛이 아침같이 터져 나올 것이요, 너의 건강이 신속하게 솟구쳐 나올 것이요, 너의 의가 너의 앞에 갈 것이요, 주의 영광이 너의 후위대가 되리라.

8 ¶ Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

9 그때 너는 부를지니, 주가 응답하리라. 너는 부르짖을지니, 그가 말하기를, “내가 여기 있도다.” 하리라. 만일 네가 너의 중심에서 멍에와 손가락질과 헛된 것을 이야기함을 치워 버린다면,

9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 그러면서 만일 네가 너의 혼을 배고픈 자에게 끌고 가서 고난받는 혼을 만족시킨다면, 그때 너의 빛이 암담함 속에서 떠오르리니, 너의 어둠은 대낮과 같아지리라.

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:

11 그리고 주가 너를 꾸준히 인도하여, 가뭄 속에서도 너의 혼을 배부르게 하고 너의 뼈들을 기름지게 하리라. 그리하면 너는 물 댄 동산과 같고, 물이 솟는 샘과 같으리니, 그곳의 물들이 끊어지지 않는도다.

11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12 그리고 너에게서 나올 자들이 오랜 불모지가 된 곳들을 세우리라. 너는 많은 세대들의 기초들을 일으켜 세우리라. 그리고 너는 “파손된 곳을 보수하는 자, 거할 수 있도록 행로들을 보수하는 자”라 불리리라.

12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

13 ¶ 만일 네가 안식일에 너의 발을 돌이켜서 나의 거룩한 날에 너의 쾌락을 행하지 아니하고, 안식일을 큰 즐거움이자 주의 거룩한 날이자 존귀한 날이라 일컬으며, 또한 그를 공경하면서 너 자신의 방법들을 행하지 아니하고 너 자신의 쾌락을 찾지도 아니하며 너 자신의 말들을 하지도 않는다면,

13 ¶ If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14 그때 너는 스스로 주를 크게 즐거워하리라. 그리고 내가 너를 땅의 높은 곳들 위에 올라타게 하고, 너의 조상 야곱의 유산으로 너를 먹이겠노라. 이는 주의 입이 그것을 말하였기 때문이라.

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
