1 어떻게 금이 흐릿해졌는가! 어떻게 최고급 정금이 변하였는가! 성소의 돌들이 모든 거리의 꼭대기마다 쏟아져 나왔도다.
1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
2 정금에 비교할 만큼 귀한 시온의 아들들, 그들이 어떻게 토기장이의 두 손의 작업물인 물동이들같이 여겨졌는가!
2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
3 바다 괴물들조차 젖가슴을 꺼냈으니, 그들은 자신들의 새끼들에게 빨도록 주는도다. 나의 백성의 딸은 광야 가운데 타조들처럼 잔인해졌도다.
3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4 목마름으로 인하여 젖먹는 아이의 혀가 그의 입천장에 달라붙는도다. 어린 자녀들이 빵을 구하는데 그들에게 빵을 떼 주는 사람이 없도다.
4 The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.
5 맛있게 잘 먹던 자들이 거리들에서 황량해지는도다. 주홍색 옷을 입고 육성된 자들이 거름 더미들을 껴안는도다.
5 They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
6 나의 백성의 딸의 죄악으로 인한 형벌이 소돔의 죄로 인한 형벌보다 더 막심하나니, 그 소돔은 한순간에 괴멸되어 어떤 손들도 그녀를 받쳐 줄 수 없었도다.
6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
7 그녀의 나실인들이 눈보다 더 순수하였고, 그들은 젖보다 더 희었으며, 그들의 몸은 루비들보다 더 불그스름하였고, 그들의 광택은 사파이어의 광택과 같았도다.
7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:
8 그들의 안면은 어느 숯보다 더 검도다. 그들은 거리들 가운데서 식별되지도 못하는도다. 그들의 피부는 그들의 뼈들에 달라붙는도다. 그것은 앙상해졌으니, 나뭇가지처럼 되었도다.
8 Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
9 칼로 살해된 자들이 배고픔으로 살해된 자들보다 낫도다. 이는 밭의 열매들의 부족함으로 인하여 이들이 수척하고 시달리기 때문이라.
9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
10 동정심으로 가득한 여자들의 손이 그들의 친자식들을 삶았도다. 나의 백성의 딸의 멸망 안에서는 그 자식들이 그들의 음식이었도다.
10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
11 주께서는 자신의 노여움을 모두 발산하셨도다. 그분께서 자신의 맹렬한 분노를 쏟아부으셨으니 시온에서 불을 붙이셨고, 그것이 그곳의 기초들을 집어삼켰도다.
11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.
12 땅의 왕들과 세상의 모든 거주자들은 그 대적과 원수가 예루살렘의 성문들 안으로 진입하리라 믿지 않았을 것이라.
12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
13 ¶ 이는 그녀의 예언자들의 죄들과 그녀의 제사장들의 죄악들로 인한 것이니, 곧 그녀가 자신의 한복판에서 의인들의 피를 흘린 죄악이라.
13 ¶ For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,
14 그들은 거리들에서 눈먼 사람들같이 배회하였으며, 그들이 피로 스스로를 더럽혔기에 사람들은 그들의 의복들을 만질 수 없었도다.
14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
15 사람들이 그들에게 외치기를, “너희는 떠나라. 불결하도다. 떠나라, 떠나라. 손대지 말라.” 하였도다. 그들이 멀리 도망하여 배회하였을 때, 그들은 이교도들 사이에서 말하기를, “그들은 더 이상 그곳에 체류하지 못하리라.” 하였도다.
15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.
16 주의 분노가 그들을 분열시켰도다. 그분께서 더 이상 그들을 유념하지 아니하시리라. 그들은 제사장들의 인격들을 존중하지 아니하였고, 그들은 장로들에게 호의를 베풀지 아니하였도다.
16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
17 우리로 말하자면, 우리의 눈은 아직까지 우리의 헛된 도움을 바라다가 쇠하였도다. 우리가 지켜보는 일에 있어서 우리는 우리를 구원하지 못할 한 민족을 지켜보았도다.
17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
18 그들이 우리의 발자취들을 찾으려고 뒤지나니, 우리가 우리의 거리들 가운데로 다닐 수 없도다. 우리의 끝이 가까우니, 우리의 날들이 다 찼도다. 이는 우리의 끝이 왔기 때문이라.
18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
19 우리의 박해자들은 하늘의 독수리들보다 더 빠르도다. 그들이 산들 위에서 우리를 추격하였으니, 그들은 광야 속에서 우리를 숨어 기다렸도다.
19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
20 우리의 콧구멍의 호흡이요, 주의 기름 부음 받은 이가 그들의 구렁들 속에서 잡혔도다. 그에 관해서는 우리가 말하기를, “우리가 이교도들 가운데서 그의 그늘 아래 살리라.” 하였도다.
20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
21 ¶ 오, 우즈 지역에 거하는 에돔의 딸아, 크게 기뻐하고 반가워하라. 그 잔이 또한 너를 경유하리라. 너는 취할 것이요, 스스로 벌거벗으리라.
21 ¶ Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
22 ¶ 오, 시온의 딸아, 너의 죄악으로 인한 형벌이 이행되었도다. 그분께서는 더 이상 너를 포로로 잡아가지 아니하시리라. 오, 에돔의 딸아, 그분께서 너의 죄악을 벌하시리라. 그분께서 너의 죄들을 드러내시리라.
22 ¶ The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.
