1 유다의 왕들인 웃지야와 요담과 아하즈와 히스키야의 날들에 아모즈의 아들 이사야가 유다와 예루살렘에 관하여 본 그의 현시라.
1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 오, 하늘들아, 들으라. 오, 땅아, 귀담아들으라. 이는 주께서 이렇게 말씀하셨기 때문이라. “내가 자녀들을 먹이고 키웠으나 그들이 나를 대적하여 반역하였도다.
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 소는 그의 소유주를, 나귀는 그의 주인의 여물통을 아느니라. 그러나 이스라엘은 모르며, 나의 백성은 숙고하지 아니하는도다.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
4 아, 죄지은 민족이요, 죄악을 짊어진 백성이요, 행악자들의 씨요, 부패시키는 자들인 자녀들이로다. 그들은 주를 저버렸도다. 그들은 이스라엘의 거룩한 이를 격분시켰으며, 그들은 뒤로 물러갔도다.
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
5 ¶ 어찌하여 너희가 더 많이 얻어맞아야만 하느냐? 너희는 갈수록 더 반란을 일으키는도다. 머리는 온통 병들고 마음은 온통 기진하는도다.
5 ¶ Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 발바닥부터 머리까지 그 안에 성한 곳이 전혀 없도다. 다만 상처들과 멍들과 곪은 헌데들뿐이로다. 그것들은 봉합되지도 아니하였고, 싸매지지도 아니하였으며, 연고로 진정되지도 아니하였도다.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
7 너희 나라는 황량해졌고, 너희 도시들은 불에 탔도다. 너희의 면전에서 타국인들이 너희 영토를 삼켰으며, 마치 타국인들에 의하여 뒤엎어진 것처럼 그것이 황량해졌도다.
7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 그리하여 포도원의 원두막같이, 오이 농원의 오두막같이, 포위된 도시같이 시온의 딸이 겨우 남겨졌도다.”
8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
9 만군의 주께서 우리에게 아주 적은 수의 남은 자를 남겨 주지 아니하셨더라면, 우리는 소돔 같았을 것이요, 우리는 고모라처럼 되었으리라.
9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
10 ¶ 너희, 소돔의 치리자들아, 주의 말씀을 들으라. 너희, 고모라의 백성아, 우리 하나님의 법을 귀담아들으라.
10 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
11 주가 말하노라. 너희의 허다한 수의 희생 제물들을 무슨 목적으로 나에게 바치느냐? 내가 숫양들의 번제물들과 잘 먹인 짐승들의 지방으로 배가 부르니라. 그런즉 나는 수송아지들의 피나 어린양들의 피나 숫염소들의 피를 크게 즐거워하지 아니하노라.
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12 너희가 내 앞에 모습을 드러내려고 올 때에 너희 손에 이것을 들고 나의 뜰들을 밟으라고 누가 요구하였느냐?
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13 더 이상 헛된 헌납물들을 가져오지 말라. 분향은 나에게 가증한 것이요, 새 달들과, 안식일들과, 집회들의 소집을 내가 견딜 수 없노라. 그것은 죄악이니, 엄숙한 회동마저 그러하도다.
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
14 너희의 새 달들과 너희의 정해진 명절들을 나의 혼이 증오하노라. 그것들은 나에게 곤욕이로다. 내가 그것들을 참기에 지쳤노라.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
15 그런즉 너희가 너희의 손을 활짝 펼 때 나는 나의 두 눈을 너희에게서 숨기리라. 진정 너희가 많은 기도들을 할 때도 나는 듣지 아니하겠노라. 너희의 손이 피로 가득하도다.
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
16 너희를 씻어내고, 너희를 정결하게 하라. 나의 두 눈 앞에서 너희가 행하는 것들의 악을 치워 버리라. 악을 행하는 것을 그치라.
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 잘 행하는 것을 배우라. 공의를 추구하라. 압제받는 자들을 구제하라. 아버지 없는 자들을 재판하라. 과부를 위해 변호하라.
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 이제 오라. 그리고 우리가 함께 변론하자. 주가 말하노라. 너희의 죄들이 주홍 같을지라도 그것들이 눈같이 희게 되리라. 그것들이 진홍같이 붉을지라도 그것들이 양털같이 되리라.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 만일 너희가 자원하고 순종한다면 너희는 그 지역의 좋은 것을 먹으리라.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 그러나 만일 너희가 거부하고 반역한다면 너희는 칼에 집어삼켜지리라. 이는 주의 입이 그것을 말하였기 때문이라.
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
21 ¶ 신실한 도성이 어떻게 창녀가 되었는가! 그곳은 공의가 충만하던 곳이었고 의가 그 안에 거하던 곳이었도다. 그러나 이제는 살인자들뿐이로다.
21 ¶ How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
22 너의 은은 찌꺼기가 되었으며, 너의 포도즙은 물이 섞였도다.
22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
23 너의 통치자들은 반역적이며, 도둑들의 동지들이라. 모든 자마다 뇌물들을 사랑하며, 보상들을 따라다니는도다. 그들은 아버지 없는 자들을 재판하지 아니하고, 과부의 송사도 자신들에게 오지 않게 하는도다.
23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
24 그러므로 주, 곧 만군의 주요, 이스라엘의 막강한 이가 말하노니, “아, 내가 나의 대적들로부터 나를 홀가분하게 하겠고, 나의 원수들에게 나의 복수를 하겠노라.”
24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
25 ¶ 또 내가 나의 손을 너의 위로 돌려서 너의 찌꺼기를 순수하게 정화하여 제하겠으며, 너의 모든 주석을 제거하겠노라.
25 ¶ And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 그런 다음에 내가 너의 판관들을 처음과 같이, 너의 조언자들을 시작할 때와 같이 회복하겠노라. 그 후에 너는 ‘의의 도성, 신실한 도성’이라 불리리라.
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
27 시온은 공의로 구속받을 것이요, 그녀의 회심자들은 의로 구속받으리라.
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
28 ¶ 그리고 불법자들의 멸망과 죄인들의 멸망이 함께 있을 것이요, 주를 저버리는 자들은 소멸되리라.
28 ¶ And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
29 이는 너희가 열망하던 상수리나무들로 인하여 그들이 부끄러워할 것이며, 너희가 선택한 정원들로 인하여 너희가 당혹스러워할 것이기 때문이라.
29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
30 이는 너희가 마치 잎사귀가 시든 상수리나무같이 될 것이요, 마치 물 없는 정원같이 될 것이기 때문이라.
30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
31 그리고 강한 것은 삼 오라기같이 될 것이요, 그것을 만든 자는 불티같이 되리니, 그것들은 둘 다 함께 타오를 것이요, 아무도 그것들을 끄지 못하리라.
31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
