1 다리우스의 제이년 여덟째 달에 주의 말씀이 예언자 잇도의 자손이요, 베레키야의 아들인 스가랴에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
2 “주는 너희 조상들을 심히 불쾌해하였노라.
2 The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
3 그러므로 너는 그들에게 말하라. ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 나에게로 돌이키라. 만군의 주가 말하노라. 그리하면 나도 너희에게 돌이키겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 너희는 너희 조상들같이 되지 말라. 이전 예언자들이 그들에게 외치며 말하기를, ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 이제 너희는 너희의 악한 길들과 너희의 악한 처신들로부터 돌이키라.’ 하였으나 그들은 듣지 아니하였고, 나에게 경청하지도 아니하였도다. 주가 말하노라.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
5 너희 조상들인 그들은 어디에 있느냐? 그리고 예언자들인 그들이 영원토록 살아 있느냐?
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
6 오직 내가 나의 종들인 예언자들에게 명령한 나의 말들과 나의 규례들, 그것들이 너희 조상들을 붙들지 아니하였느냐? 그런즉 그들이 되돌아와서 말하기를, ‘만군의 주께서 우리의 길들에 따라, 우리의 처신들에 따라 우리에게 행하시기로 생각하신 것처럼 그분께서 우리를 그와 같이 다루셨도다.’ 하였도다.’”
6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
7 ¶ 다리우스의 제이년 스밧 월인 열한째 달 이십사 일에 주의 말씀이 예언자 잇도의 자손이요, 베레키야의 아들인 스가랴에게 임하였으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
7 ¶ Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
8 “내가 밤에 보았더니, 한 남자가 붉은 말을 타고 있는 것과 그가 바닥에 있던 도금양나무들 사이에 서 있었던 것을 보니라. 그런 다음에 그의 뒤에 있었던 붉은 말들과 얼룩무늬 말들과 흰 말들을 보니라.”
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
9 그때 내가 말씀드리기를, “오, 나의 주여, 이들은 무엇이니이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 나와 대화한 그 천사가 나에게 말하기를, “이들이 무엇인지 내가 너에게 보여 주겠노라.” 하였더라.
9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10 그런즉 도금양나무들 사이에 서 있었던 그 남자가 대답하여 말하기를, “이들은 주께서 땅을 이리저리 두루 다니라고 보내신 자들이라.” 하였더라.
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
11 그러자 그들이 도금양나무들 사이에 서 있었던 주의 천사에게 대답하여 말하기를, “우리가 땅을 이리저리 두루 활보하였나이다. 그런즉 보소서, 온 땅이 그대로 있으며 안식하고 있나이다.” 하였더라.
11 And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
12 ¶ 그때 주의 천사가 대답하여 말하기를, “오, 만군의 주여, 당신께서는 얼마나 오랫동안 예루살렘과 유다의 도시들에게 자비를 베풀지 아니하시겠나이까? 당신께서 그곳들을 대적하여 격분하신 지가 이렇듯 칠십 년이 되었나이다.” 하였더라.
12 ¶ Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
13 그러고 나서 주께서는 나와 대화한 그 천사에게 선한 말씀들과 위로를 주는 말씀들로 대답하셨더라.
13 And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
14 그렇게 하여 나와 대화를 한 그 천사가 나에게 말하기를, “너는 외치며 이같이 말하라. ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 나는 예루살렘과 시온으로 인하여 크나큰 질투로 질투하노라.
14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15 그리고 나는 안일하게 있는 이교도들을 아주 심히 불쾌해하노라. 이는 내가 아주 조금만 불쾌해하였을 뿐인데 그들이 그 고난을 거들어 가중시켰기 때문이라.
15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
16 그러므로 주가 이같이 말하노라. 내가 자비들을 지닌 채 예루살렘으로 되돌아왔노라. 나의 집이 그곳 안에서 건축될 것이요, 예루살렘 위에 한 측량줄이 펴지리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.’
16 Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
17 그럼에도 여전히 외치며 말하기를, ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 나의 도시들이 번영하고 더 널리 퍼지리라. 그리하면 주가 여전히 시온을 위로할 것이요, 여전히 예루살렘을 선택하리라.’ 하라.”
17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
18 ¶ 그때 내가 나의 두 눈을 들어 쳐다보았더니, 네 개의 뿔들을 보니라.
18 ¶ Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19 그러자 내가 나와 대화하던 천사에게 말하기를, “이것들은 무엇이니이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 나에게 대답하기를, “이것들은 유다와 이스라엘과 예루살렘을 흩은 뿔들이라.” 하였더라.
19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 그러고 나서 주께서 나에게 네 명의 목수들을 보여 주셨더라.
20 And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
21 그때 내가 말씀드리기를, “이들은 무엇을 하러 오나이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 그분께서 일러 말씀하시기를, “이것들은 유다를 흩은 뿔들이니, 그러므로 어떤 사람도 자기 머리를 들어 올리지 않았도다. 그러나 이들이 오는 것은 그들을 비벼 버리고자 함이니, 이방인들의 뿔들, 곧 유다 지역을 흩으려고 자신들의 뿔을 그곳 위로 들어 올린 뿔들을 뽑아내고자 함이라.” 하셨느니라.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
