1 그리고 다리우스왕의 제사년 아홉째 달, 곧 키슬루 월 사 일에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 주의 말씀이 스가랴에게 임하였더라.
1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
2 그들이 셰레젤과 레겜멜렉과 자신들의 사람들을 하나님의 집으로 보내서 주 앞에 기도하게 하였으며,
2 When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
3 만군의 주의 집 안에 있던 제사장들과 예언자들에게 일러 말하기를, “제가 이렇게 많은 해들 동안 이것들을 행하여 온 대로 제가 다섯째 달에 저 자신을 분리시켜 울어야 하리이까?” 하였을 때,
3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
4 ¶ 그때 만군의 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하였으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
4 ¶ Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,
5 “그 지역의 모든 백성과 제사장들에게 이같이 일러 말하라. ‘너희가 다섯째 달과 일곱째 달에 금식하고 애곡하였을 때, 곧 그 칠십년 동안 너희가 조금이라도 나를 위하여, 정말 나를 위하여 금식하였느냐?
5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?
6 그리하여 너희가 먹었을 때와 너희가 마셨을 때 너희는 너희 자신을 위하여 먹고 너희 자신을 위하여 마신 것이 아니냐?
6 And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
7 예루살렘에 거주하는 자들이 있고 번영 속에 있으며 그녀의 주위에 있는 그곳의 도시들도 그러하였을 때, 사람들이 남쪽과 그 평야에서 거주하였을 때, 너희는 주께서 이전 예언자들을 통하여 부르짖던 말씀들을 들었어야 하지 않겠느냐?’”
7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
8 ¶ 그리고 주의 말씀이 스가랴에게 임하셨으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
8 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,
9 “만군의 주가 이같이 일러 말하노라. 진실한 재판을 집행하고 모든 사람은 저마다 자기 형제에게 자비와 연민들을 보이라.
9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10 그리고 과부와 아버지 없는 자도, 타국인과 가난한 자도 압제하지 말라. 그리고 너희 중 누구도 너희 마음속에서 자기 형제를 대적하여 악을 구상하지 말지어다.
10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11 그러나 그들이 경청하기를 거부하며 어깨를 빼고 자신들의 귀를 틀어막았으니, 그들이 듣지 아니하려 함이라.
11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12 진정 그들은 율법과, 만군의 주가 이전 예언자들을 통하여 자신의 영으로 보낸 말씀들을 듣지 않으려고 자신들의 마음을 금강석같이 만들었도다. 그러므로 만군의 주로부터 크나큰 진노가 임하였느니라.
12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
13 그러므로 이러한 일이 있으니, 그가 외쳐도 그들이 들으려 하지 않았던 것같이 그들이 그렇게 외쳐도 내가 들으려 하지 아니하겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
14 오히려 내가 회오리바람을 동원하여, 그들이 몰랐던 모든 민족들 가운데로 그들을 흩었도다. 이와 같이 그 지역이 그들을 따라 황량해졌으니, 어떤 사람도 지나가거나 되돌아오지 아니하였도다. 이는 그들이 이 기쁨을 주는 지역을 황량하게 하였기 때문이라.”
14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
