1 현시의 골짜기에 대한 엄중한 부담이라. 무엇이 너를 지금 고통스럽게 하기에 네가 완전히 옥상들 위로 올라갔느냐?
1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?
2 부산함들로 가득한 너는 소란스러운 도시요, 즐거움을 주는 도시로다. 너의 살해당한 사람들은 칼에 살해당한 것이 아니요, 전투에서 죽은 것도 아니로다.
2 Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
3 너의 모든 치리자들도 함께 도망하게 되는도다. 그들은 활 쏘는 자들에 의하여 결박당하는도다. 네 안에서 발견된 모든 자들이 함께 결박당하나니, 그들은 먼 데서 도망했던 자들이로다.
3 All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.
4 그러므로 내가 말하기를, “나에게서 시선을 거두라. 내가 비통하게 울겠노라. 나의 백성의 딸이 약탈당하였으니, 나를 위로하려고 수고하지 말라.” 하였도다.
4 Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
5 이는 그것이 곤경의 날이요, 짓밟힘의 날이요, 현시의 골짜기에서 만군의 주 하나님에 의한 당혹의 날이자 성벽들을 무너뜨리는 날이요, 산들을 향한 부르짖음의 날이기 때문이라.
5 For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
6 그리고 엘람은 사람들이 탄 병거들과 기병들과 함께 화살통을 짊어졌도다. 또 킬은 그 방패를 드러냈도다.
6 And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.
7 그런즉 이러한 일이 있으리니, 너의 가장 빼어난 골짜기들이 병거들로 가득할 것이요, 기병들이 성문에서 자신들의 대열을 갖추리라.
7 And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
8 ¶ 그리고 그분께서 유다의 덮은 것을 벗겨 내셨으니, 너는 그날 숲의 집의 병기를 바라보았도다.
8 ¶ And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
9 너희가 다윗의 도시의 부서진 곳들도 보았으니, 그것들이 많도다. 또 너희는 아랫못의 물들도 한데 모았도다.
9 Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
10 그리고 너희는 예루살렘의 집들을 계수하였으니, 너희가 성벽을 견고하게 하려고 집들을 헐었도다.
10 And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down to fortify the wall.
11 너희는 또한 오래된 못의 물을 얻기 위하여 두 성벽들 사이에 도랑을 만들었도다. 그러나 너희가 그것을 만드신 분을 바라보지 아니하였으며, 이것을 오래전에 설계하신 분을 존중하지도 아니하였도다.
11 Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
12 그리하여 그날에 만군의 주 하나님께서 부르시어 슬프게 울도록 하시고, 애통하게 하시고, 대머리가 되게 하시고, 굵은 베로 띠를 두르게 하셨도다.
12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
13 그리고 소들을 잡고 양들을 죽이며 고기를 먹고 포도즙을 마시며 즐거워하고 기뻐하면서 “내일이면 우리가 죽으리니, 우리가 먹고 마시자.” 하는 것을 보시는도다.
13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
14 그런즉 만군의 주에 의하여 그것이 나의 두 귀에 계시되었으니, “결단코 이 죄악은 너희가 죽을 때까지 너희에게서 정화되지 아니하리라. 만군의 주 하나님이 말하노라.” 하셨도다.
14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
15 ¶ 만군의 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 가라. 너는 이 재보 담당관, 곧 그 집을 감독하는 셰브나에게 이르러 이같이 말하라.
15 ¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
16 “네가 여기에서 무엇을 가지고 있느냐? 또 너는 여기에 누가 있기에, 마치 높은 곳에다 자신에게 돌무덤을 파 두는 자와, 바위 속에 자신을 위하여 거처를 파내는 자같이, 네가 여기에 돌무덤을 너에게 파 두었느냐?
16 What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
17 보라, 주가 막강하게 사로잡아 너를 데리고 나갈 것이요, 반드시 너를 덮겠노라.
17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.
18 그가 반드시 너를 공처럼 난폭하게 돌려서 넓은 지방 안으로 던지겠노라. 거기에서 네가 죽을 것이요, 거기에서 너의 영광의 병거들이 너의 주의 집에 수치가 되리라.
18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.
19 그리하여 나는 네가 서 있는 곳에서 너를 밀어내겠으니, 그가 너의 직위에서 너를 끌어내리리라.
19 And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.
20 ¶ 그리고 그날에 이러한 일이 있으리니, 내가 힐키야의 아들인, 나의 종 엘리아킴을 부르겠노라.
20 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
21 그러고는 내가 너의 예복으로 엘리아킴을 옷 입히고, 너의 띠로 그를 강하게 하리니, 내가 너의 정권을 그의 손안에 위임하겠노라. 그리하여 그가 예루살렘의 거주자들에게와 유다의 집에게 아버지가 되리라.
21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22 그리하여 내가 그의 어깨 위에 다윗의 집의 열쇠를 올려놓겠노라. 그렇게 하여 그가 열겠으니, 아무도 닫을 자가 없으리라. 또 그가 닫겠으니, 아무도 열 자가 없으리라.
22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 그리고 내가 견고한 곳에 박힌 못같이 그를 고정시키겠노라. 그리하여 그가 그의 아버지의 집에 영광스러운 보좌를 위해 있으리라.
23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
24 그리고 그들이 그의 아버지 집의 모든 영광과, 그 후예와 소생과, 적은 양을 담는 그릇들 모두를 그의 위에 걸겠으니, 곧 잔들에 속하는 그릇들부터 음료병들에 속하는 모든 그릇들까지라.
24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
25 만군의 주가 말하노라. 그날에 견고한 곳에 고정된 못이 제거되고 잘려 나가리라. 그리고 그것 위에 걸린 짐도 끊어지리라. 이는 주가 그것을 말하였기 때문이라.”
25 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
