1 이와 더불어 주께서 나에게 말씀하시기를, “커다란 두루마리 하나를 너에게 가져와서 그 안에다 사람의 펜으로 마헬샬랄하슈바즈에 관하여 기록하라.” 하셨느니라.
1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
2 이에 나는 신실한 증인들을 나에게로 데려와서 기록하게 하였으니, 곧 제사장 우리야와, 여베레키야의 아들 스가랴라.
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 그때 내가 여예언자에게 들어갔더라. 그러자 그녀가 임신하여 한 아들을 낳았더라. 그때 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “그의 이름을 마헬샬랄하슈바즈라 부르라.
3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
4 이는 그 아이가 부르짖기를, ‘나의 아버지와 나의 어머니여.’ 할 줄 알기 전에 다마스쿠스의 재물들과 사마리아의 약탈물을 아시리아 왕 앞에서 빼앗길 것이기 때문이라.”
4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
5 ¶ 주께서 또한 나에게 다시금 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.
5 ¶ The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
6 “이는 이 백성이 부드럽게 흘러가는 쉴로아의 물들을 거부하고 르진과, 르말리야의 아들을 크게 기뻐하기 때문이라.
6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7 그러므로 이제 보라, 주가 세차고 많은 강물들을 그들 위에 데려오리니, 곧 아시리아 왕과 그의 모든 영광이라. 그리하여 그가 그의 모든 수로들 위로 들이치고, 그의 모든 둑들을 건너가리라.
7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8 그리하여 그가 유다를 통과하리라. 그가 넘쳐흘러서 건너가리니, 그가 심지어 목까지 차오르리라. 오, 임마누엘이여, 그런즉 그의 날개들을 앞으로 뻗음이 너의 영토의 너비를 채우리라.”
8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
9 ¶ 오, 너희, 백성들아, 너희끼리 연합하라. 그럼에도 너희는 산산이 부서지리라. 그리고 먼 나라들에 속한 너희 모두여, 귀담아들으라. 너희 자신을 동여매라. 그럼에도 너희는 산산이 부서지리라. 너희 자신을 동여매라. 그럼에도 너희는 산산이 부서지리라.
9 ¶ Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 함께 의논하라. 그럼에도 그 일은 수포로 돌아가리라. 말을 내뱉으라. 그럼에도 그 말은 서지 못하리라. 이는 하나님께서 우리와 함께 계시기 때문이라.
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
11 ¶ 이는 주께서 강한 손으로 나에게 이같이 이야기하셨고, 나로 하여금 이 백성의 길 가운데로 살아가지 않도록 나를 지도하시며 이같이 말씀하셨기 때문이라.
11 ¶ For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 “이 백성이 ‘동맹이라.’ 말할 모든 자들에게 너희는 ‘동맹이라.’ 말하지 말라. 또한 너희는 그들이 두려워하는 것을 두려워하지 말고, 무서워하지도 말라.
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 만군의 주 그분 자체를 거룩하게 구별하라. 그리고 그가 너희의 두려움이 되게 하고, 그가 너희의 무서움이 되게 하라.
13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 그리하면 그가 성소가 되리라. 그러나 이스라엘의 두 집들에게는 걸려 넘어지게 하는 돌이요, 실족하게 하는 반석이 되리라. 예루살렘 거주자들에게는 덫과 올무가 되리라.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 그리하여 그들 중 많은 이들이 걸려 넘어지고 쓰러지며 부서지고 올무에 걸리며 붙잡히리라.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
16 증언을 싸매라. 나의 제자들 사이에서 율법을 봉인하라.”
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17 그런즉 나는 자신의 얼굴을 야곱의 집으로부터 숨기시는 주를 기다리겠노라. 또 나는 그분을 고대하겠노라.
17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18 보라, 주께서 나에게 주신 자녀들과 나는 이스라엘에서 표적들과 이적들이니, 그것들은 시온산 속에 거하시는 만군의 주로부터 나온 것들이라.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 ¶ 그리고 그들이 너희에게 말하기를, “부리는 영들을 지닌 자들에게와, 엿보고 중얼거리는 요술사들에게 구하라.” 할 때는, 백성이 그들의 하나님께 구해야 하지 아니하겠느냐? 산 자들을 위하여 죽은 자들에게 구해야겠느냐?
19 ¶ And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20 율법에 그리고 증언에 구할지니라. 만일 그들이 이 말씀에 따라 말하지 아니한다면, 그것은 그들 안에 빛이 전혀 없는 까닭이라.
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21 그리하면 그들이 어려운 상황에 처하여 배고픈 채로 그것을 통과하리라. 그리고 이러한 일이 있으리니, 그들이 배고플 때면 그들은 스스로 안달이 나서 그들의 왕과 그들의 하나님을 저주하며 위를 바라보리라.
21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
22 그러고 나서 그들은 땅을 바라보리니, 곤경과 어둠과, 극심한 고통의 침침함을 목도하리라. 이윽고 그들은 어둠으로 밀려나리라.
22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
