1 우리가 전한 것을 누가 믿었느냐? 그리고 누구에게 주의 팔이 나타났느냐?

1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

2 이는 그가 그분 앞에서 연한 초목같이, 메마른 토양에서 나온 뿌리같이 자랄 것이기 때문이라. 그는 화려함도 전혀 없고 우아함도 없도다. 그리고 우리가 그를 볼 때 우리가 그를 흠모할 만한 아름다움이 전혀 없도다.

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3 그는 사람들에게 멸시받고 거절당하는도다. 또한 슬픔들의 사람이요, 비통함에 익숙해진 사람이로다. 그런즉 우리는 그로부터 피하려는 것처럼 우리의 얼굴을 숨겼도다. 그는 멸시받았고 우리는 그를 존중하지 아니하였도다.

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 ¶ 확실히 그는 우리의 비통함들을 담당하였고 우리의 슬픔들을 짊어졌도다. 그럼에도 우리는 그가 매를 맞고 하나님께 맞아 고난을 받는다고 여겼도다.

4 ¶ Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 그러나 그가 상처를 입은 것은 우리의 불법들로 인함이요, 그가 상한 것은 우리의 죄악들로 인함이라. 우리의 화평을 위하여 징계가 그의 위에 임하였도다. 그런즉 그가 맞은 채찍들로 우리가 치유되었도다.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 우리는 모두 양들같이 길을 잃었고, 우리는 모두 저마다 자기 자신의 길로 돌이켰도다. 그런데도 주께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 얹으셨도다.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 그가 압제를 당하였고 그가 고난을 받았으나 그럼에도 그는 자신의 입을 열지 아니하였도다. 그가 도살장으로 향하는 어린양같이 끌려가니, 그녀의 털 깎는 자들 앞에서 양이 잠잠하듯이, 그렇게 그가 자신의 입을 열지 아니하는도다.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 그는 감옥에 가지 못하였고, 공정한 재판을 받지 못하였도다. 그런즉 누가 그의 세대를 선언하겠느냐? 이는 그가 산 자들의 지역에서 끊어졌기 때문이요, 나의 백성의 불법으로 인하여 그가 맞았기 때문이라.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 그리고 그는 사악한 자들과 함께 자신의 무덤을 마련하였고, 그가 죽어서는 부자와 함께하였도다. 이는 그가 폭력을 전혀 행하지 아니하였고, 그의 입안에 속이는 어떤 것도 없었기 때문이라.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 ¶ 그럼에도 그를 상하게 하는 것이 주를 기쁘게 해 드렸도다. 그분께서 그를 비통함에 두셨도다. 당신께서 그의 혼을 죄를 위한 제물로 만드실 때 그는 자신의 씨를 볼 것이요, 그가 자신의 날들을 연장할 것이요, 주의 기쁨이 그의 손안에서 형통하리라.

10 ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11 그가 자신의 혼의 산고에서 난 것을 보고 만족하리라. 나의 의로운 종이 자신의 지식을 통하여 많은 이들의 정당함을 입증하리라. 이는 그가 그들의 죄악들을 담당할 것이기 때문이라.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 그러므로 내가 그에게 위대한 자들과 함께 몫을 나누어 주겠으니, 그가 약탈물을 강한 자들과 함께 나누리라. 이는 그가 자신의 혼을 쏟아부어 죽음에 이른 까닭이라. 그런즉 그가 불법자들과 함께 계수되었도다. 그리고 그는 많은 이들의 죄를 담당하였고 불법자들을 위하여 중보하였도다.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
