1 오, 야곱의 집아, 너희는 이것을 들으라. 너희는 이스라엘의 이름으로 불렸고, 유다의 물들에서 나온 자들이니, 주의 이름으로 맹세하고 이스라엘의 하나님을 언급하나 진리 안에서 하는 것이 아니요, 의 안에서 하는 것도 아니로다.

1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

2 이는 그들이 스스로 거룩한 도성에 속한다고 칭하고 스스로 이스라엘의 하나님을 의존하기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 그의 이름이라.

2 For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

3 내가 시작부터 이전 것들을 선언하였노라. 그런즉 그것들이 나의 입에서 나갔고, 내가 그것들을 보여 주었노라. 내가 그것들을 갑자기 행하였는데도 그것들이 이루어졌도다.

3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

4 이는 네가 고집스럽고, 너의 목은 철 힘줄이요, 너의 앞이마는 놋이라는 것을 내가 알았기 때문이라.

4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;

5 나는 그것을 무려 시작부터 너에게 선언하였노라. 그것이 일어나기도 전에 내가 그것을 너에게 보여 주었노라. 이는 네가 말하기를, “나의 우상이 그것들을 행하였고 나의 조각된 형상과 나의 주조된 형상이 그것들을 명령하였도다.” 하지 않게 하려 함이라.

5 I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

6 네가 들었나니, 이 모든 것을 보라. 그런데도 너희가 그것을 선언하지 아니하겠느냐? 내가 이때부터 새로운 것들, 심지어 감추어진 것들까지도 너에게 보여 주었는데 너는 그것들을 몰랐노라.

6 Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.

7 그것들은 지금 창조되었고, 시작부터 존재한 것이 아니니, 바로 네가 그것들을 들은 날 이전에는 존재하지 아니하였도다. 이는 네가 말하기를, “보라, 내가 그것들을 알았노라.” 하지 못하게 하려 함이라.

7 They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

8 진정 너는 듣지 아니하였도다. 진정 너는 몰랐도다. 진정 그때부터 너의 귀는 열려 있지 아니하였도다. 이는 네가 크게 배신할 것과 태에서부터 불법자라 불린 것을 내가 알았기 때문이라.

8 Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

9 ¶ 내 이름을 위하여 내가 나의 분노를 뒤로 미룰 것이요, 나의 찬송을 위하여 내가 너에게서 물러서지 아니하겠으니, 내가 너를 끊어 버리지 아니하려 함이라.

9 ¶ For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

10 보라, 내가 너를 정제하였으나, 은으로 하지 아니하였노라. 내가 너를 고난의 용광로 속에서 선택하였도다.

10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

11 내가 나 자신을 위하여, 바로 나 자신을 위하여 내가 그것을 행하겠노라. 그러므로 어찌 나의 이름이 더럽혀지겠느냐? 그런즉 나는 나의 영광을 다른 이에게 주지 아니하겠노라.

11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

12 ¶ 오, 야곱, 곧 이스라엘아, 나의 부름받은 이야, 나에게 경청하라. 나는 그니라. 나는 처음이요, 나는 또한 마지막이라.

12 ¶ Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13 나의 손이 또한 땅의 기초를 놓았고, 나의 오른손이 하늘들의 폭을 쟀노라. 내가 그들을 부를 때, 그들이 함께 일어서는도다.

13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

14 너희는 모두 서로 결집하고 들으라. 그것들 가운데 어느 것이 이것들을 선언하였느냐? 주가 그를 사랑하였도다. 그가 자신이 기뻐하는 것을 바빌론 위에 행할 것이요, 그의 팔이 칼데아인들 위에 올려지리라.

14 All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.

15 나, 바로 내가 말하였노라. 진정 내가 그를 불렀도다. 내가 그를 데리고 왔노라. 그런즉 그가 그의 길을 형통하게 만들리라.

15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

16 ¶ 너희는 나에게 가까이 오라. 너희는 이것을 들으라. 나는 시작부터 비밀스럽게 말하지 아니하였노라. 그것이 있던 때부터 나는 거기에 있노라. 그리하여 이제 주 하나님과 그분의 영께서 나를 보내셨도다.

16 ¶ Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

17 너의 구속주요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이인 주가 이같이 말하노라. 나는 유익을 주고자 너를 가르치는 이요, 네가 가야하는 그 길로 너를 이끄는 이인, 주 너의 하나님이로다.

17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

18 오, 네가 나의 명령들에 경청하였더라면 얼마나 좋았을까! 그리하였더라면 너의 화평이 강 같았을 것이요, 너의 의가 바다의 파도들 같았으리라.

18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

19 너의 씨도 모래 같았을 것이요, 너의 내부에서 나온 후예가 그것의 자갈처럼 되었으리라. 그의 이름은 내 앞에서 끊어지지도 않았을 것이요, 내 앞에서 멸망하지도 않았을 것이라.

19 Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

20 ¶ 너희는 바빌론으로부터 빠져나가라. 너희는 칼데아인들로부터 도망하라. 너희는 노래하는 음성으로 선언하라. 이것을 알리고 땅끝에 이르기까지 이것을 발설하라. 너희는 이같이 말하라. 주께서 그분의 종 야곱을 구속하셨도다.

20 ¶ Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

21 그리고 그분께서 사막들 사이로 그들을 이끄셨을 때 그들은 목마르지 아니하였노라. 그분께서 그들을 위하여 반석에서 물들이 흘러나오게 하셨도다. 그분께서 또한 반석을 가르셨고 물들이 쏟아져 나왔도다.

21 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

22 주가 말하노라. 사악한 자들에게는 화평이 전혀 없느니라.

22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
