1 형제들아, 이제 영적인 은사들에 관하여 나는 너희가 무지하기를 바라지 아니하노라.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2 너희가 이방인들이었다는 것과 너희가 이끌리던 그대로 이런 말 못 하는 우상들에게 휩쓸렸던 것을 너희가 아느니라.

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 이런 이유로 내가 너희를 이해하게 하노니, 하나님의 영에 의하여 말하는 사람은 아무도 예수님을 저주받은 자라고 부르지 아니하느니라. 그런즉 성령님에 의한 것이 아니라면 아무도 예수님을 주라고 말할 수 없느니라.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4 이제 은사들의 다양성들이 있으나 성령께서는 동일하시니라.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 그리고 운영들의 차이들이 있으나 주께서는 동일하시니라.

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 또한 시행들의 다양성들이 있으나 모든 것 안에서 모든 것을 이루시는 하나님께서는 동일하시니라.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 다만 성령의 명백하게 나타나심이 모든 사람에게 저마다 주어지니, 모두가 함께 유익을 얻게 하려 하심이라.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 이는 누군가에게는 성령으로 지혜의 말씀이 주어지고, 다른 이에게는 동일한 성령으로 지식의 말씀이 주어졌으며,

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 다른 이에게는 동일한 성령으로 믿음이 주어지고, 다른 이에게는 동일한 성령으로 치유의 은사들이 주어지며,

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 다른 이에게는 기적들을 행함이 주어지고, 다른 이에게는 예언이 주어지며, 다른 이에게는 영들을 분별함이 주어지고, 다른 이에게는 다양한 종류들의 방언들이 주어지며, 다른 이에게는 방언들을 통역함이 주어지느니라.

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 그러나 이것들이 모두 동일한 한 성령께서 역사하시어 그분의 뜻대로 모든 사람에게 저마다 개인별로 나누어 주시는 것이라.

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12 이는 몸은 하나이면서도 많은 지체들을 가지고 있으며 그 한 몸의 모든 지체들이 많다 해도 한 몸인 것과 같이 그리스도 역시 그러하시기 때문이라.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 이는 우리가 유대인들이든지 이방인들이든지 간에, 우리가 속박된 자든지 자유로운 자든지 간에 한 영에 의하여 우리 모두가 한 몸 안으로 침례를 받았기 때문이라. 그리하여 모두가 한 영 안으로 마시게 되었느니라.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 이는 그 몸이 하나의 지체가 아니라 오히려 많은 지체이기 때문이라.

For the body is not one member, but many.

15 만일 그 발이 말하기를, “나는 손이 아니기 때문에 내가 그 몸에 속하지 아니한다.” 하겠다면 이로 인하여 그것이 그 몸에 속하지 아니하는 것이냐?

If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 그리고 만일 그 귀가 말하기를, “나는 눈이 아니기 때문에 내가 그 몸에 속하지 아니한다.” 하겠다면 이로 인하여 그것이 그 몸에 속하지 아니하는 것이냐?

And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 만일 온몸이 하나의 눈이라면 듣는 곳은 어디겠느냐? 만일 전체가 듣는 곳이라면 냄새 맡는 곳은 어디겠느냐?

If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 그러나 이제 하나님께서 그 몸이 그분을 기쁘게 해 드린 대로 지체들, 곧 그들 각자를 몸 안에 두셨느니라.

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 그런데 만일 그들이 모두 하나의 지체라면 그 몸은 어디 있겠느냐?

And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 그러나 이제 그들이 많은 지체들이나 그럼에도 오직 하나의 몸만 있느니라.

But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 그런즉 그 눈이 그 손에게 말하기를, “나는 너를 필요로 하지 아니한다.” 할 수 없느니라. 다시금 그 머리가 그 발에게 말하기를, “나는 너희를 필요로 하지 아니한다.” 할 수도 없느니라.

And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 이뿐만 아니라 몸에서 더 나약해 보이는 그 지체들이 훨씬 더 요긴하니라.

Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 그리하여 우리가 덜 존귀하다고 생각하는 몸의 그 지체들 위에 우리가 더 넘치는 존귀를 부여하느니라. 그런즉 우리의 볼품없는 부분들도 더욱 넘치게 어여쁨을 받느니라.

And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 이는 우리의 어여쁜 부분들은 부족한 것이 전혀 없기 때문이라. 그러나 하나님께서 부족한 그 부분에 더 넘치는 존귀를 주시어 그 몸이 함께 조화를 이루게 하셨느니라.

For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

25 이는 몸 안에 분파가 없게 하려 하심이요, 오히려 지체들로 하여금 서로 동일한 관심을 가지게 하려 하심이라.

That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 그런즉 하나의 지체가 고통받으면 모든 지체들이 그 지체와 함께 고통받느니라. 또는 하나의 지체가 영예를 얻으면 모든 지체들이 그 지체와 함께 크게 기뻐하느니라.

And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 이제 너희는 그리스도의 몸이며 개별적으로는 지체들이라.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 그런즉 하나님께서 교회 안에 어떤 이들을 세우셨으니, 첫째로 사도들이요, 둘째로 예언자들이요, 셋째로 선생들이요, 그 뒤로 기적들이요, 그다음은 치유들의 은사들과, 조력들과, 행정들과, 방언들의 다양함들이라.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 모두가 사도들이냐? 모두가 예언자들이냐? 모두가 선생들이냐? 모두가 기적들을 행사하는 자들이냐?

Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 모두가 치유의 은사들을 가졌느냐? 모두가 방언들로 말하느냐? 모두가 통역하느냐?

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 오히려 최상의 은사들을 열렬히 사모하라. 그런즉 내가 지금부터 너희에게 더 훌륭한 길을 보여 주노라.

But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
