1 오, 군부대들의 딸아, 이제 너 스스로 군부대들로 모이라. 그가 우리를 대적하여 포위하였도다. 그들은 이스라엘의 판관의 뺨을 막대기로 치리라.
1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2 그러나 너, 베들레헴 에프라타야, 너는 유다의 수천 가운데서 작을지라도 실로 너에게서 이스라엘 가운데서 통치자가 될 자가 나에게 나아오리라. 그의 나아감들은 옛적부터, 곧 영원부터 있어 왔느니라.
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
3 그러므로 산고를 치르는 그녀가 출산할 때까지 그가 그들을 내버려 두리라. 그때 그의 형제들 가운데 남은 자들이 이스라엘 자녀들에게 되돌아오리라.
3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4 ¶ 그리하여 그분께서 주의 힘과 주 그의 하나님의 이름의 존엄 가운데 서서 먹이시리라. 그리고 그들이 거하리라. 이는 이제 그가 땅의 끝들까지 위대해질 것이기 때문이라.
4 ¶ And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
5 그리고 아시리아인이 우리 지역으로 들어올 때 이 사람은 평화가 되리라. 그런 다음에 그가 우리 궁전들 안을 밟을 그때 우리가 그를 대적하여 일곱 명의 목자들과 여덟 명의 선도자들을 일으키리라.
5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
6 그리하면 그들은 칼로 아시리아 지역을 황폐하게 하고 님롯 지역을 그곳의 입구들에서 황폐하게 하리라. 그가 우리 지역 안으로 들어오는 때요, 그가 우리의 경계들 내부를 밟는 때면 이와 같이 그분께서 아시리아인으로부터 우리를 구출하시리라.
6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
7 그리고 야곱의 남은 자들은 많은 백성들 한가운데에 있으리니, 마치 주로부터 나오는 이슬같이, 마치 사람을 위하여 지체하지 아니하고 사람들의 아들들을 위하여 기다려 주지도 아니하는 소나기들이 풀 위에 내림과 같으리라.
7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8 ¶ 그리하여 숲의 짐승들 가운데 있는 사자같이, 양들로 이루어진 떼들 사이에 있는 젊은 사자같이 야곱의 남은 자들이 많은 백성들의 한가운데서 이방인들 사이에 있으리라. 만일 그가 지나간다면 짓밟기도 하고 산산이 찢기도 하나니, 아무도 구출할 수 없도다.
8 ¶ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
9 너의 손이 너의 대적들 위로 들어 올려지리니, 너의 모든 원수들이 끊어지리라.
9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
10 그런즉 그날에 이러한 일이 있으리니, 주가 말하노라. 내가 너의 말들을 너의 한가운데서 끊어 버리겠으며, 내가 너의 병거들을 파괴시키겠노라.
10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
11 그리하여 내가 너의 지역에서 도시들을 끊어 버리고, 너의 강한 요새들을 모두 무너뜨리겠노라.
11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
12 그리하여 내가 너의 손에서 마술들을 끊어 버리겠노라. 그리하면 너에게는 더 이상 점쟁이들이 없으리라.
12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
13 내가 또한 너의 새겨진 형상들과 너의 서 있는 형상들을 너의 한가운데서 끊어 버리겠노라. 그리하면 너는 더 이상 너의 손들로 만든 것을 경배하지 아니하리라.
13 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.
14 그리하여 내가 너의 작은 수풀들을 너의 한가운데서 뽑아내겠노라. 그렇게 하여 내가 너의 도시들을 멸하겠노라.
14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
15 그리고 내가 이교도들, 곧 내 말을 듣지 아니한 자들 위에 분노와 노여움 가운데서 복수를 집행하리라.
15 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
