1 바빌론 왕 벨샤잘의 제일년에 다니엘이 자기 침상 위에서 한 꿈과 그의 머릿속 현시들을 받았더라. 그때 그가 그 꿈을 기록하여 그 내막들의 윤곽을 알렸더라.
1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
2 다니엘이 이같이 일러 말하였노라. 내가 밤에 나의 현시 가운데 목격하기를, 보라, 하늘의 네 바람들이 대해 위에서 분투하였더라.
2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
3 그리하여 서로 상이한 네 마리의 커다란 짐승들이 그 바다에서 올라왔더라.
3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4 첫 번째 짐승은 사자와 같고 독수리의 날개들을 가졌더라. 나는 그것의 날개들이 뽑힐 때까지 주목하였으니, 그것이 땅에서 들려 올려져서 사람같이 두 발로 서게 되었고, 사람의 마음이 그것에게 주어졌더라.
4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
5 다음으로 다른 짐승, 곧 곰과 같은 두 번째를 주목하니, 그것은 한쪽으로 몸을 일으켜 세웠는데 그것은 그것의 입안에 있는 그것의 이빨들 사이로 세 갈비뼈들을 물고 있었더라. 그리고 그들이 그것에게 이와 같이 말하기를, “일어나라, 많은 고기를 집어삼키라.” 하였더라.
5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
6 이런 일이 있은 후에 내가 주목하였더니, 보라, 다른 짐승인데 표범과 같고 그것의 등 위에 날짐승의 날개들 넷이 달렸더라. 그 짐승은 또한 머리들 넷을 가졌더라. 그리고 통치권이 그것에게 주어졌더라.
6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
7 이 일 후에 내가 밤의 현시들 가운데서 목격하였으니, 무시무시하고 공포스러우며 지극히 강한 네 번째 짐승을 보니라. 그리고 그것은 커다란 철 이빨들을 가졌더라. 그것이 집어삼키고 산산이 부수며 그것의 발들로 그 잔존하는 것들을 내리찍었더라. 그리고 그것은 자기 앞에 있었던 모든 짐승들과 상이하였으니, 그것은 열 개의 뿔들을 가졌더라.
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8 내가 그 뿔들을 숙고하였는데 보라, 그것들 가운데서 또 다른 작은 뿔이 위로 올라왔더라. 그 작은 뿔 앞에서 처음의 뿔들 중 셋이 뿌리째 뽑혀 나갔더라. 또한 보라, 이 뿔에는 사람의 두 눈과 같은 눈들이 달렸고 엄청난 것들을 말하는 한 입이 있었느니라.
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
9 ¶ 나는 그 보좌들이 무너질 때까지 주목하였더니, 태고의 날들부터 계시는 분께서 앉아 계셨느니라. 그분의 의복은 눈같이 하얗고 그분의 머리털은 순수한 양털 같았더라. 그분의 보좌는 맹렬한 불꽃 같았고, 그분의 바퀴들은 극렬한 불 같았더라.
9 ¶ I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 한 불줄기가 그분의 앞에서부터 흘러 밖으로 나왔더라. 그분을 섬기던 자는 천천이요, 그분 앞에 서 있던 자는 만만이라. 심판이 개시되었으며 책들이 펼쳐져 있었더라.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11 그때 내가 그 뿔이 말한 엄청난 말들의 음성으로 인하여 주목하였으니, 내가 그 짐승이 살해당하고 그의 몸이 멸망하여 타오르는 불꽃에 주어진 바로 그때까지 주목하였도다.
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
12 그 나머지 짐승들에 관하여 말하자면, 그들은 자신들의 통치권을 빼앗겼더라. 그럼에도 그들의 생명들은 한 시기와 때 동안 연장되었더라.
12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
13 내가 밤의 현시들 가운데서 보았더니, 보라, 인자와 같은 이가 하늘의 구름들과 함께 오셨고, 태고의 날들부터 계시는 분께 나아오셨는데 그들이 그를 그분 앞으로 가까이 모셨더라.
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 그러자 거기에서 그에게 통치권과 영광과 왕국이 주어졌더라. 이는 모든 백성들과 민족들과 언어들이 그를 섬기게 하려 함이라. 그의 통치권은 영원한 통치권이요, 사라지지 아니할 통치권이니, 그의 왕국은 멸망하지 아니할 왕국이라.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
15 ¶ 나, 다니엘은 나의 몸의 한가운데 있는 나의 영 안에서 비통하였고 나의 머릿속 현시들이 나를 곤욕스럽게 하였더라.
15 ¶ I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
16 나는 곁에 선 자들 중 한 명에게 접근하여 그에게 이 모든 것의 진실을 물었더라. 그렇게 하여 그가 나에게 알렸고 그것들의 해석을 나에게 알려 주었더라.
16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
17 이 커다란 네 마리의 짐승들은 땅에서 일어날 네 명의 왕들이라.
17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18 그러나 지극히 높으신 분의 성도들이 그 왕국을 점령할 것이요, 영원토록 그 왕국을 차지하리니, 실로 영원무궁하리라.
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19 그때 내가 네 번째 짐승의 진실을 알려고 하였으니, 그는 다른 모든 것과 상이하여 지극히 무시무시하였고 그의 이빨들은 철로, 그의 발톱들은 놋으로 되어 있었더라. 그는 집어삼켰고 산산이 부수었으며 남아 있는 것들을 그의 두 발로 내리찍었더라.
19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20 그리고 그의 머리에 있던 열 개의 뿔들과, 솟아난 다른 뿔의 진실을 알려고 하였는데, 그의 앞에서 셋이 쓰러졌더라. 곧, 그 뿔에는 눈들이 있고 아주 엄청난 일들을 말하는 입이 있으며 그의 겉모습이 그의 동료들보다 더욱 견고하였더라.
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 내가 보았는데, 바로 그 뿔이 성도들과 전쟁하였고 그들을 대적하여 승리하였더라.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 이는 태고의 날들부터 계시는 분께서 오시어 지극히 높으신 분의 성도들에게 심판이 주어질 때까지라. 그러고 나서 성도들이 그 왕국을 차지한 때가 이르렀더라.
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23 그는 이와 같이 말하였더라. “네 번째 짐승은 땅 위에서 네 번째 왕국이 되리니 그것은 모든 왕국들과 상이할 것이요, 온 땅을 집어삼킬 것이며, 그것을 짓밟으면서 그것을 산산이 부술 것이라.
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 그리고 이 왕국에서 나온 열 개의 뿔들은 앞으로 일어날 열 명의 왕들이라. 그리고 다른 왕이 그들 뒤에 일어나리라. 그리고 그는 먼저 있던 자들과 상이할 것이요, 그가 세 명의 왕들을 정복하리라.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25 그리고 그는 지극히 높으신 분을 대적하여 엄청난 말들을 내뱉을 것이요, 지극히 높으신 분의 성도들을 지쳐 버리게 하고, 때들과 법들을 바꾸려고 생각하리라. 그리하여 그들은 한 때와 두 때와 때의 분할까지 그의 손안에 주어지리라.
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 그러나 심판이 진행될 것이요, 그들은 그의 통치권을 빼앗아 버리리니, 그것을 끝까지 진멸하고 멸망시키고자 함이라.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27 그리하면 왕국과, 통치권과, 온 하늘 아래 왕국의 위대함이 지극히 높으신 분의 성도들에 속한 백성들에게 주어지리라. 지극히 높으신 분의 왕국은 영원한 왕국이요, 모든 통치 권역들이 그분을 섬기고 그분께 순종하리라.”
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
28 여기까지가 그 일의 끝이라. 나, 다니엘로 말하자면, 나의 깊은 생각들이 나를 크게 근심하게 하였으니, 나의 용모가 내 안에서 변하였더라. 그러나 내가 그 일을 나의 마음속에 간직하였더라.
28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
