1 그리고 주께서 시나이산 속에서 모세에게 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,
2 “이스라엘 자녀들에게 일러 그들에게 이같이 말하라. ‘내가 너희에게 주는 지역으로 너희가 들어가면, 그때 그 지역은 주께 안식의 때를 지켜야 하느니라.
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.
3 너는 육 년 동안 너의 밭에 씨를 뿌릴지니라. 그리고 너는 육 년 동안 너의 포도원의 가지들을 솎아 내서 그것들의 열매를 거둘지니라.
3 Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;
4 그러나 일곱째 해에는 그 지역에 안식하는 안식의 때가 있을지니, 곧 주를 위한 안식의 때라. 너는 너의 밭에 씨를 뿌리지도 말고 너의 포도원의 가지들을 솎아 내지도 말지니라.
4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
5 너는 너의 수확물 중에 저절로 자라는 것을 거두지 말지니, 손질하지 않은 너의 포도나무에서 나온 포도들도 거두지 말지니라. 이는 그것이 그 지역에게 안식년이기 때문이라.
5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.
6 그리하여 그 지역의 안식하는 때가 너희를 위한 음식이 되리니, 너를 위하여, 너의 종을 위하여, 너의 하녀를 위하여, 너의 고용된 종을 위하여, 너와 함께 체류하는 너의 타국인을 위하여,
6 And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
7 너의 가축들을 위하여, 너의 지역에 있는 짐승을 위하여 그곳의 모든 소산이 음식이 되리라.
7 And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
8 ¶ 그리고 너는 너에게 일곱 번의 안식년들을 계수하되, 칠 년을 일곱 번 계수할지니라. 그런즉 일곱 안식년의 기간은 너에게 사십구 년이 되리라.
8 ¶ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
9 그때 일곱째 달 십 일에 너는 희년의 나팔로 소리를 내게 할지니, 속죄일에 너희는 너희의 온 지역에 걸쳐 그 나팔로 소리를 내게 할지니라.
9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
10 그런 다음에 너희는 그 오십 번째 해를 거룩하게 하고 온 지역에 걸쳐 그곳의 모든 거주자들에게 자유를 공포할지니라. 그것이 너희에게 희년이 되리라. 그리하면 너희 각인은 자기 소유로 되돌아갈지니, 너희 각인은 자기 가족에게로 되돌아갈지니라.
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
11 희년은 너희에게 그 오십 번째 해가 되리라. 너희는 씨를 뿌리지 말고, 희년에 저절로 자라는 것을 거두지도 말지니, 희년에 손질하지 않은 너의 포도나무의 포도들을 모으지도 말지니라.
11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
12 이는 그것이 희년이기 때문이라. 그것이 너희에게 거룩하리라. 너희는 밭에서 나는 그곳의 소산을 먹을지니라.
12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
13 이 희년에 속한 해에 너희 각인은 자기 소유로 되돌아갈지니라.
13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
14 그런데 만일 네가 너의 이웃에게 조금이라도 판매하거나 너의 이웃의 손에서 조금이라도 구입하거든 너희는 서로 압제하지 말지니라.
14 And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:
15 희년 이후의 연수에 따라 너는 너의 이웃에게서 구입할지니, 그는 너에게 열매들의 연수에 따라 판매할지니라.
15 According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
16 연수의 많음에 따라 너는 그것의 가격을 올리고, 연수의 적음에 따라 너는 그것의 가격을 내릴지니라. 이는 그가 열매들의 연수에 따라 너에게 판매하기 때문이라.
16 According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.
17 그러므로 너희는 서로 압제하지 말지니라. 오직 너는 너의 하나님을 두려워할지니라. 이는 내가 주 너희 하나님이기 때문이라.
17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.
18 ¶ 이러한 이유로 너희는 나의 규례들을 행하고 나의 공의로운 법규들을 지키며 그것들을 행할지니라. 그리하면 너희는 그 지역 가운데서 안전하게 거하리라.
18 ¶ Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
19 그리고 그 지역은 그녀의 열매를 내리니, 너희는 너희의 양껏 먹고 그 안에서 안전하게 거하리라.
19 And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
20 그런데 만일 너희가 말하기를, ‘우리가 일곱째 해에 무엇을 먹을까? 보라, 우리가 뿌리지도, 우리의 소산을 거두지도 말아야 하는도다.’ 한다면,
20 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:
21 그때는 내가 여섯째 해에 나의 복이 너희 위에 임하도록 명령하겠노라. 그리하면 그것이 삼 년 동안 열매를 내리라.
21 Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
22 그런즉 너희는 여덟째 해에 씨를 뿌릴지니, 아홉째 해까지는 여전히 묵은 열매를 먹을지니라. 그녀의 열매들이 들어올 때까지 너희는 묵은 저장물을 먹을지니라.
22 And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
23 ¶ 토지는 영구적으로 매각되어서는 아니 되느니라. 이는 그 토지가 내 것이기 때문이니, 너희는 타국인들이요, 나와 함께 체류하는 자들이기 때문이라.
23 ¶ The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
24 그런즉 너희 소유의 모든 토지에서 너희는 토지를 사서 되찾는 일을 승인할지니라.
24 And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.
25 ¶ 만일 너의 형제가 가난해지고 자기 소유 중 일부를 팔아 버렸는데 혹 그의 친척 중 누구라도 그것을 구속하러 온다면 그때 그는 자기 형제가 판 것을 구속할지니라.
25 ¶ If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.
26 그런데 만일 그 사람에게 그것을 구속할 사람이 아무도 없는데 스스로 그것을 구속할 능력이 있다면
26 And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;
27 그때 그는 자신이 그것을 팔았던 그 사람에게 그것을 매각한 햇수를 계산하여 그 차액을 반환할지니, 그로 하여금 자기 소유로 되돌아가게 하려 함이라.
27 Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.
28 그러나 만일 그가 그것을 자신에게로 되찾을 능력이 없다면, 희년에 속한 해까지는 그때 매각된 것이 그것을 구입한 자의 손안에 남아 있으리라. 그런즉 희년에 그것이 떠날 것이며, 그는 자기 소유로 되돌아갈 것이라.
28 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
29 그런데 만일 어떤 사람이 성벽이 세워진 도시 안에 있는 주택을 매각한다면 그때 그는 그것이 매각된 이후 만 일 년 안에 그것을 구속할 수 있느니라. 만 일 년 내로 그는 그것을 구속할 수 있느니라.
29 And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.
30 그런데 만일 그것이 만 일 년의 기간 내로 구속되지 않는다면 그때 그 성벽이 세워진 도시 안에 있는 집은 그의 세대들에 걸쳐 그것을 구입한 자에게 영원토록 확립되리라. 그것은 희년에도 떠나가지 아니하리라.
30 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
31 그러나 그것들 주위에 성벽이 없는 촌락들의 집들은 지방의 들판들처럼 여겨지리라. 그것들은 구속될 수 있나니, 그것들은 희년에 떠나갈 것이라.
31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.
32 그럼에도 불구하고 레위인들의 도시들과 그들이 소유한 도시들에 있는 집들은 레위인들이 어느 때라도 구속할 수 있느니라.
32 Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.
33 그런데 만일 어떤 사람이 레위인들에게서 취득하였다면, 그때 팔린 집과 그의 소유의 도시는 희년에 속한 해에 떠나갈 것이라. 이는 레위인들의 도시들에 속한 집들은 이스라엘 자녀들 사이에서 그들의 소유이기 때문이라.
33 And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.
34 그러나 그들의 도시들의 외곽 지역들인 들판은 매각되어서는 아니 되느니라. 이는 그것이 그들의 영속적인 소유이기 때문이라.
34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.
35 ¶ 그런데 만일 너의 형제가 가난해져 너의 곁에서 쇠퇴해 있다면 그때 너는 그를 구제할지니, 진정 그가 타국인이나 체류자일지라도 그를 구제할지니라. 이는 그로 하여금 너의 곁에서 살게 하려 함이라.
35 ¶ And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.
36 너는 그에게서 고리나 이자를 취하지 말고 오직 너의 하나님을 두려워할지니, 너의 형제가 너의 곁에서 살게 하려 함이라.
36 Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
37 너는 고리를 받으려고 그에게 너의 돈을 주지 말며, 이자를 위하여 너의 먹을거리들을 그에게 빌려주지도 말지니라.
37 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.
38 나는 너희에게 가나안 지역을 주고 너희의 하나님이 되려고 너희를 이집트 지역에서 데리고 나온 주 너희 하나님이로다.
38 I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
39 ¶ 그리고 만일 너의 옆에 거하는 너의 형제가 가난해져서 너에게 팔려 온다면 너는 그에게 노예처럼 섬기도록 강제하지 말지니라.
39 ¶ And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:
40 다만 그는 고용된 종처럼, 체류자처럼 너의 곁에 있어야 할지니, 희년에 속한 해까지 너를 섬길지니라.
40 But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
41 그리하면 그때 그는 너에게서 떠나리니, 그와 함께한 그의 자녀들과 그가 모두 떠날 것이요, 그의 본래 가족에게로 되돌아갈 것이요, 그는 자기 조상들의 소유로 되돌아갈 것이라.
41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
42 이는 그들이 내가 이집트 지역에서 데리고 나온, 나의 종들이기 때문이라. 그들은 노예들처럼 팔려서는 아니 되느니라.
42 For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
43 너는 그를 혹독하게 다스리지 말고 오직 너의 하나님을 두려워할지니라.
43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.
44 네가 취할 너의 남성 노예들과 너의 여성 노예들은 모두 너의 주위에 있는 이방 민족들 중에서 취해져야 하느니라. 너희는 그들에게서 남성 노예들과 여성 노예들을 살지니라.
44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
45 이와 더불어 너희는 그들에게서, 곧, 너희 가운데 체류하고 있는 타국인들의 자녀들에게서 살지니, 너희와 함께하는 그들의 족속들, 곧 너희의 지역에서 그들이 낳은 자들에게서 살지니라. 그런즉 그들은 너희의 소유가 되리라.
45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
46 그리고 너희는 너희의 뒤를 잇는 너희 자녀들을 위한 유산으로 그들을 취하여 소유로 그들을 상속하게 할지니라. 그들은 영원토록 너희의 노예들이 되리라. 그러나 이스라엘 자녀들인 너희 형제들에게는 너희가 서로 혹독하게 다스리지 말지니라.
46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
47 ¶ 그런데 만일 어떤 체류자나 타국인이 너의 곁에서 부유해졌는데, 그의 곁에서 거하고 있는 너의 형제가 가난해져서 너의 곁에 있는 그 타국인이나 체류자에게나 그 타국인 가문의 핏줄에게 자신을 팔면,
47 ¶ And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family:
48 그가 팔린 뒤에라도 그는 다시 구속될 수 있느니라. 그의 형제들 중 한 명이 그를 구속할 수 있느니라.
48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:
49 그의 삼촌이나 그의 삼촌의 아들도 그를 구속할 수 있으며, 또는 그의 가족 중에서 그에게 가까운 친족인 자는 누구나 그를 구속할 수 있느니라. 혹은 만일 그가 능력이 있으면 그가 스스로를 구속할 수 있느니라.
49 Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.
50 그리하면 그는 자신이 그에게 팔린 해부터 희년에 속한 해까지 자신을 산 자와 함께 결산할지니라. 그리고 그의 매매가는 그 연수들에 따라 정산되리니, 그것은 그와 함께하는 고용된 종의 시간에 따라 정산되리라.
50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.
51 만일 아직도 뒤에 여러 해들이 남았다면 그는 그것들에 따라 자신이 매매되었던 대금에서 자신의 구속의 값을 다시 줄지니라.
51 If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
52 그런데 만일 희년에 속한 해까지 불과 몇 년만 남아 있다면 그때 그는 그 사람과 함께 계산할지니, 그의 해들에 따라 그는 자기 구속의 값을 다시 그에게 줄지니라.
52 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.
53 그리하여 그는 매년 고용되는 종처럼 그와 함께 있을지니라. 그리고 다른 이들은 너의 목전에서 그를 혹독하게 다스리지 말지니라.
53 And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.
54 그런데 만일 그가 이러한 해들에 구속받지 않았다면 그때 그는 희년에 속한 해에 나갈지니, 그는 그와 함께한 그의 자녀들과 나갈지니라.
54 And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
55 이는 이스라엘 자녀들이 내게 종들이기 때문이라. 그들은 내가 이집트 지역에서 데리고 나온 나의 종들이요, 나는 주 너희 하나님이로다.
55 For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
