1 그러자 사울이 자신의 아들 요나단과 자신의 모든 종들에게 이야기하여 그들이 다윗을 죽여야 한다고 하였더라.
1 And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
2 그러나 사울의 아들 요나단은 다윗을 몹시 크게 즐거워하였더라. 그리하여 요나단이 다윗에게 알리며 이같이 말하였더라. “나의 아버지 사울이 너를 죽이는 것을 모색하시는도다. 그러므로 이제 내가 너에게 간구하노니, 아침까지 스스로 주의하여 은밀한 곳 안에 머물며 너의 몸을 숨기라.
2 But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
3 그리하면 내가 나가겠고 네가 있는 들판에서 나의 아버지 옆에 서겠노라. 그리고 내가 나의 아버지와 함께 너에 관하여 대화하고 내가 아는 것을 내가 너에게 알려 주겠노라.”
3 And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
4 ¶ 이후에 요나단이 다윗에 관하여 자신의 아버지 사울에게 좋게 이야기하였으니, 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “왕께서는 자신의 종인 다윗을 대적하여 죄를 짓지 마소서. 이는 그가 당신을 대적하여 죄를 짓지 아니하였기 때문이요, 그가 행한 일들이 당신께 매우 선하였기 때문이니이다.
4 ¶ And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
5 이는 그가 자기 손안에 자신의 생명을 두고 그 필리스티아인을 살해하였으니, 주께서 온 이스라엘을 위하여 한 위대한 구원을 이룩하셨기 때문이니이다. 당신께서 그것을 보시고 크게 기뻐하셨나이다. 그렇다면 어찌 당신께서는 다윗을 아무런 까닭 없이 살해하심으로써 무고한 피를 대적하여 죄를 지으려고 하시나이까?”
5 For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
6 그러자 사울이 요나단의 음성에 경청하였더라. 그러면서 사울이 맹세하기를, “주께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니, 그가 살해당하지 아니하리라.” 하였더라.
6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
7 이에 요나단이 다윗을 불렀으니, 요나단이 그에게 이 모든 것들을 밝혔더라. 그러고 나서 요나단이 다윗을 사울에게 인도하였고 그는 지난 시간들처럼 그의 면전에 있었더라.
7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
8 ¶ 이후에 다시 전쟁이 있었더라. 그런즉 다윗이 나가서 필리스티아인들과 싸워 커다란 살육으로 그들을 살해하였더라. 그러자 그들이 그에게서 도망하였더라.
8 ¶ And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
9 이후에 사울이 자신의 집 안에서 그의 단창을 자기 손에 쥐고 앉아 있었을 때 주께로부터 온 악한 영이 사울에게 임하였더라. 그리고 다윗은 자기 손으로 연주하고 있었더라.
9 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
10 그러자 사울이 그 단창으로 다윗을 쳐서 벽에 꽂으려고 하였더라. 그러나 그가 사울의 면전에서 빠져나갔으니, 사울이 창을 벽 속에 박았더라. 그런즉 다윗이 그날 밤 도망쳐 탈출하였더라.
10 And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
11 사울이 또한 다윗의 집으로 심복들을 보내서 그를 지켜보게 하고 아침에 그를 살해하게 하였더라. 그러자 다윗의 아내인 미칼이 그에게 알리며 말하기를, “만일 당신이 오늘 밤 당신의 생명을 구원하지 아니한다면 내일 당신은 살해당하리이다.” 하였더라.
11 Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
12 ¶ 그렇게 하여 미칼이 다윗을 창문을 통하여 내려가게 하였으니, 그가 나가서 도망쳐 탈출하였더라.
12 ¶ So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
13 그리고 미칼이 한 형상을 취하여 그것을 침대 안에 뉘었으며 염소들의 털로 된 베개 하나를 그의 베개 받침으로 놓고 그것을 천으로 덮었더라.
13 And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
14 그리하여 사울이 다윗을 잡아 오라고 심복들을 보냈을 때, 그녀가 말하기를, “그가 아프나이다.” 하였더라.
14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
15 그러자 사울이 다윗을 보기 위해 다시 심복들을 보내며 말하기를, “내가 그를 살해할 수 있도록 그를 침상째 나에게로 데려오라.” 하였더라.
15 And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
16 그리하여 심복들이 들이닥쳤을 때, 보라, 한 형상이 침대 안에 있었고 아울러 염소들의 털로 된 베개가 그의 베개 받침으로 있었더라.
16 And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair for his bolster.
17 그러자 사울이 미칼에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 네가 나를 이처럼 속여서 나의 원수가 탈출하도록 그를 보내 버렸느냐?” 하였더라. 이에 미칼이 사울에게 대답하기를, “그가 제게 말하기를, ‘나를 가게 하라. 어찌하여 내가 너를 죽여야 하겠느냐?’ 하였나이다.” 하였더라.
17 And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
18 ¶ 그렇게 하여 다윗이 도망쳐서 탈출하였고 라마흐로 사무엘에게 와서 사울이 자신에게 행한 모든 것을 그에게 알렸더라. 이에 그와 사무엘이 가서 나이옷에 거하였더라.
18 ¶ So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
19 그러자 그것이 사울에게 알려지며 말하기를, “보소서, 다윗이 라마흐에 있는 나이옷에 있나이다.” 하였더라.
19 And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
20 이에 사울이 다윗을 잡아 오라고 심복들을 보냈더라. 그러자 그들이 예언하고 있는 예언자들의 집단과 그들 위에 임명된 자로서 서 있는 사무엘을 보았을 때 하나님의 영이 사울의 심복들 위에 임하여 그들도 예언하였더라.
20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
21 그리고 그것이 사울에게 알려지자 그가 다른 심복들을 보냈는데 그들도 마찬가지로 예언하였더라. 이어서 사울이 다시 세 번째로 심복들을 보냈는데 그들 역시 예언하였더라.
21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
22 그때 그 또한 라마흐로 갔으니, 세쿠에 있는 커다란 우물에 도착하였더라. 그런즉 그가 물으며 말하기를, “사무엘과 다윗이 어디 있느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 누군가 말하기를, “보소서, 그들이 라마흐에 있는 나이옷에 있나이다.” 하였더라.
22 Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
23 그리하여 그가 거기 라마흐에 있는 나이옷에 갔더라. 그러자 하나님의 영이 그의 위에도 임하였으니, 그가 라마흐에 있는 나이옷에 이를 때까지 그가 계속 가면서 예언하였더라.
23 And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24 그러면서 그가 자기 옷까지 벗으며 동일한 방식으로 사무엘 앞에서 예언하였으니, 그날 낮과 그날 밤 내내 벌거벗은 채로 누워 있었더라. 이러한 이유로 그들이 말하기를, “사울도 예언자들 가운데 있느냐?” 하였더라.
24 And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
