1 그때 삼손이 가자로 갔는데 거기서 한 창녀를 보고 그녀에게로 들어갔더라.
1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.
2 그리고 그것이 가자족들에게 알려지며 말하기를, “삼손이 이리로 왔도다.” 하였더라. 그러자 그들이 그를 포위하여 밤새 도시의 대문 안에서 그를 숨어 기다렸으니, 밤새 조용히 있으며 말하기를, “날이 밝을 때 아침에 우리가 그를 죽이리라.” 하였더라.
2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.
3 그런데도 삼손이 한밤중까지 누웠다가 한밤중에 일어나서 그 도시 대문의 문들과 두 문기둥들을 뽑은 다음에 그것들을 가지고 떠났으니, 그것들을 빗장까지 전부 자신의 두 어깨 위에 올렸고, 헤브론 앞에 있는 언덕의 꼭대기까지 그것들을 옮기며 올라갔더라.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
4 ¶ 그러고 난 후에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그가 소렉 골짜기 가운데 있는 한 여자를 사랑하였는데 그녀의 이름은 델릴라였더라.
4 ¶ And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5 그러자 필리스티아인들의 군주들이 그녀에게 올라와서 그녀에게 말하기를, “그를 유혹하여 그의 엄청난 힘이 어디에 있는지, 우리가 어떤 방식으로 그를 대적하여 승리하고, 우리가 그를 결박하여 그를 괴롭게 할 수 있을지 알아보라. 그리하면 우리가 각자 너에게 은화 일천일백 개를 주겠노라.” 하였더라.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.
6 ¶ 그러자 델릴라가 삼손에게 말하기를, “제가 당신께 간구하오니, 당신의 엄청난 힘이 어디에 있는지, 무엇으로 당신이 결박되면 당신을 괴롭힐 수 있는지 제게 알려 주소서.” 하였더라.
6 ¶ And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
7 그러자 삼손이 그녀에게 말하기를, “만일 그들이 결코 마른 적이 없는 푸른 버들가지들 일곱 가닥으로 나를 결박한다면 그때는 내가 약해져서 여느 남자와 같이 되리라.” 하였더라.
7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
8 그때 필리스티아인들의 군주들이 마른 적이 없던 푸른 버들가지들 일곱 가닥을 가지고 그녀에게 올라왔더라. 그리하여 그녀가 그것들로 그를 결박하였더라.
8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9 이때 침실 안에는 그녀와 함께 거하면서 숨어 기다리는 남자들이 있었더라. 그런즉 그녀가 그에게 말하기를, “삼손이여, 필리스티아인들이 당신께 임하였나이다.” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 마치 삼실 오라기가 불에 닿을 때면 그것이 끊어지는 것같이 버들가지들을 끊었더라. 그렇게 하여 그의 힘이 알려지지 아니하였더라.
9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
10 그러고 나서 델릴라가 삼손에게 말하기를, “보소서, 당신은 저를 놀렸으며 저에게 거짓들을 알려 주었나이다. 이제 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 무엇으로 당신이 결박될 수 있는지 저에게 말해 주소서.” 하였더라.
10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.
11 그러자 그가 그녀에게 말하기를, “만일 그들이 결코 사용된 적이 없는 새 밧줄들로 나를 단단히 결박한다면, 그때 나는 약해져서 여느 남자와 같이 되리라.” 하였더라.
11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
12 그러므로 델릴라가 새 밧줄들을 가져와서 그것으로 그를 결박하고 그에게 말하기를, “삼손이여, 필리스티아인들이 당신께 임하였나이다.” 하였더라. 그런데 그 침실 안에는 숨어 기다리는 자들이 있었더라. 그리하여 그가 자기 두 팔에서 그것들을 실같이 끊어 냈더라.
12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.
13 그러자 델릴라가 삼손에게 말하기를, “지금까지도 당신은 저를 놀렸으며 저에게 거짓들을 알려 주었나이다. 무엇으로 당신이 결박될 수 있는지 저에게 알려 주소서.” 하였더라. 이에 그가 그녀에게 말하기를, “만일 네가 짜서 만든 천으로 나의 머리 일곱 타래들을 엮는다면 그리되리라.” 하였더라.
13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.
14 그러자 그녀가 그것을 고정핀으로 고정시키고 그에게 말하기를, “삼손이여, 필리스티아인들이 당신께 임하였나이다.” 하였더라. 이에 그가 그의 잠에서 깨어나 베틀 채에 달린 고정핀과 짜서 만든 천을 달고 나가 버렸더라.
14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.
15 ¶ 이후에 그녀가 그에게 말하기를, “당신의 마음이 저와 함께 있지 않으면서 어떻게 당신이 말하기를, ‘내가 너를 사랑하노라.’ 할 수 있나이까? 당신이 저를 이렇게 세 번이나 놀렸으며 당신의 엄청난 힘이 어디에 있는지 나에게 알려주지 아니하였나이다.” 하였더라.
15 ¶ And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.
16 그러면서 그녀가 매일 그녀의 말들로 그를 압박하며 그에게 졸라댔더라. 그렇게 하여 그의 혼이 괴로워 죽을 지경이 되었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니,
16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
17 그가 그녀에게 그의 온 마음을 털어놓고 그녀에게 말하기를, “나의 머리에는 어떤 면도칼도 닿은 적이 없노라. 이는 내가 나의 어머니의 태에서부터 하나님께 나실인이었기 때문이라. 만일 내 머리가 밀린다면, 그때 나의 힘은 나에게서 빠져나갈 것이요, 나는 약해져서 여느 다른 남자처럼 되리라.” 하였더라.
17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
18 그러자 델릴라는 그가 그녀에게 그의 온 마음을 털어놓은 것을 보자 그녀가 사람을 보내서 필리스티아인들의 군주들을 부르며 말하기를, “이번 한 번만 올라오라. 이는 그가 나에게 자신의 온 마음을 보여 주었기 때문이라.” 하였더라. 그때 필리스티아인들의 군주들이 그녀에게 올라왔고 그들의 수중에 돈을 가져왔더라.
18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.
19 그리고 그녀가 그를 그녀의 두 무릎 위에서 잠들게 하였더라. 그러면서 그녀가 한 남자를 불러 그의 머리의 일곱 타래들을 밀어 버리도록 그녀가 그에게 시켰더라. 그런 다음에 그녀가 그를 괴롭히기 시작하였더니, 그의 힘이 그에게서 떠났더라.
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
20 이윽고 그녀가 말하기를, “삼손이여, 필리스티아인들이 당신께 임하였나이다.” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 그의 잠에서 깨어나 말하기를, “내가 앞선 다른 때들과 같이 나가서 내 몸을 털어 버리겠노라.” 하였더라. 그런데 그는 주께서 그로부터 떠나신 것을 몰랐더라.
20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
21 ¶ 오히려 필리스티아인들이 그를 붙잡아 그의 두 눈을 뽑아 버렸으며 그를 가자까지 데리고 내려가 그를 놋 족쇄들로 결박하였더라. 그후에 그는 감옥 안에서 맷돌질을 하였더라.
21 ¶ But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.
22 하지만 그의 머리가 밀린 뒤에 그의 머리에서 머리카락이 다시 자라기 시작하였더라.
22 Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.
23 그때 필리스티아인들의 군주들이 그들의 신 다곤에게 커다란 희생 제물을 바치며 크게 기뻐하려고 자신들끼리 함께 모였더라. 이는 그들이 말하기를, “우리의 신이 우리의 원수 삼손을 우리의 손안에 넘기셨도다.” 하였기 때문이라.
23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
24 그리하여 백성이 그를 보자 그들이 그들의 신을 찬송하였더라. 이는 그들이 말하기를, “우리의 원수이자 우리 가운데 다수를 살해한 우리 나라의 파괴자를 우리의 신이 우리의 손안에 넘기셨도다.” 하였기 때문이라.
24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
25 그리고 그들의 마음이 들떴을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그들이 말하기를, “삼손을 불러 그로 하여금 우리에게 오락거리를 제공하게 하라.” 하였더라. 그러자 그들이 감옥에서 삼손을 불러왔더라. 그리하여 그가 그들에게 오락거리를 제공하였더라. 그리고 그들이 그를 기둥들 사이에 세워 놓았더라.
25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
26 이윽고 삼손이 손으로 자신을 붙든 소년에게 말하기를, “내가 이 집을 지탱하는 기둥들을 만져 보고 그것들에 내가 기댈 수 있게 해 달라.” 하였더라.
26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
27 이때 그 집에는 남자들과 여자들로 가득하였으니, 필리스티아인들의 모든 군주들도 거기에 있었더라. 그리고 지붕 위에도 약 삼천 명의 남자들과 여자들이 있었으니, 삼손이 오락거리를 제공하는 것을 보려 함이었더라.
27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
28 그러자 삼손이 주를 부르며 말씀드리기를, “오, 주 하나님, 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 저를 기억하소서. 오, 하나님, 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 제가 필리스티아인들에게 저의 두 눈을 위한 복수가 단번에 이루어지게 할 수 있도록 이번 한 번만 저에게 힘을 주소서.” 하였더라.
28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
29 그러면서 삼손이 그 집을 지탱하는 두 중간 기둥들, 곧 그 위에 그 집이 받쳐진 기둥들을 붙잡았으니, 그중에 하나를 그의 오른손으로, 나머지 하나를 그의 왼손으로 붙잡았더라.
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30 그러면서 삼손이 말하기를, “저로 하여금 필리스티아인들과 함께 죽게 하소서.” 하였더라. 그리고 그가 자신의 기운을 다하여 자신의 몸을 굽혔더라. 그러자 그 집이 군주들 위와 그 안에 있던 모든 이들 위에 무너져 내렸더라. 그렇게 하여 그 죽은 자들, 곧 그가 자신의 죽음으로 살해한 자들이 그가 자신의 생애 동안 살해한 자들보다 더 많았더라.
30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
31 그때 그의 형제들과 그의 아버지의 온 집이 내려와서 그를 거두며 그의 시신을 가지고 올라가서 그를 조라와 에슈타올 사이에 있는 그의 아버지 마노아의 장지 안에 장사하였더라. 그런즉 그가 이스라엘을 이십 년 동안 재판하였더라.
31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
