1 사람 안에서 마음으로 예비하는 것들과 혀의 대답은 주께로부터 비롯되느니라.
1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
2 사람의 모든 길들은 그 자신의 두 눈에 정결하니라. 그러나 주께서는 그 영들의 무게를 재시느니라.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 너의 일들을 주께 맡기라. 그리하면 너의 생각들이 확고히 세워지리라.
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 주께서는 자신을 위하여 모든 것들을 만드셨느니라. 진정, 사악한 자조차 해악의 날을 위하여 만드셨느니라.
4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 마음이 교만한 모든 자마다 주께 가증함이라. 손에 손을 잡을지라도 그는 형벌을 면하지 못하리라.
5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 자비와 진리로 죄악이 깨끗하게 되느니라. 그리고 주를 두려워함으로 사람들이 악에서 떠나느니라.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
7 사람의 길들이 주를 기쁘게 해 드릴 때 그분께서는 그의 모든 원수들까지도 그와 화평하게 하시느니라.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 적게 가지고도 의와 함께하는 것이 의와 함께하지 않은 엄청난 수입들보다 나으니라.
8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
9 사람의 마음이 자신의 길을 계획할지라도 주께서 그의 걸음들을 인도하시느니라.
9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
10 신성한 판결이 왕의 입술 안에 있느니라. 그의 입은 재판 가운데서 불법을 행하지 아니하느니라.
10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11 공정한 저울추와 저울은 주의 것이라. 가방 속 모든 저울추들은 그분의 작업물이라.
11 A just weight and balance are the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag are his work.
12 사악한 짓을 저지르는 것은 왕들에게 가증함이라. 이는 보좌가 의로 인하여 확고히 세워지기 때문이라.
12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 의로운 입술은 왕들의 큰 즐거움이요, 그들은 옳은 말을 하는 자를 사랑하느니라.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 왕의 진노는 죽음의 전령과 같으니라. 그러나 지혜로운 사람은 그것을 누그러뜨리리라.
14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 왕의 얼굴빛에는 생명이 있느니라. 그리고 그의 은총은 나중에 내리는 비구름과 같으니라.
15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 지혜를 얻는 것이 금을 얻는 것보다 얼마나 더 나은가! 그런즉 명철을 얻는 것이 오히려 은을 선택하는 것보다 얼마나 더 나은가!
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
17 올바른 자들의 대로는 악에서 떠나는 것이라. 자신의 길을 지키는 자는 자신의 혼을 보존하느니라.
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 교만은 멸망에 앞서가고 거만한 영은 몰락에 앞서가느니라.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 겸허한 자들과 함께 겸손한 영을 지니는 것이 교만한 자들과 함께 약탈물을 분배하는 것보다 나으니라.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 사안을 지혜롭게 다루는 자는 좋은 것을 발견하리라. 그런즉 누구나 주를 신뢰하는 자, 그는 행복하니라.
20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
21 마음이 지혜로운 자는 신중하다고 불리리라. 그리고 입술의 감미로움은 학식을 늘리느니라.
21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 명철은 그것을 지닌 자에게 생명의 근원이라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 훈계는 어리석음이라.
22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 지혜로운 자의 마음은 그의 입을 가르치고 그의 입술에 학식을 더하느니라.
23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 기쁨을 주는 말들은 벌집 같아서 혼에 달고 뼈들에 건강이 되느니라.
24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나 그 끝은 죽음의 길들이라.
25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
26 수고하는 자는 자신을 위하여 수고하는 것이라. 이는 그의 입이 그에게 수고를 요구하기 때문이라.
26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 불경건한 사람은 악을 캐내느니라. 그리고 그의 입술 안에는 타는 불 같은 것이 있느니라.
27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
28 왜곡된 사람은 분쟁을 뿌리느니라. 그리고 수군거리는 자는 절친한 친구들을 분리시키느니라.
28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 폭력적인 사람은 자기 이웃을 유인하여 좋지 아니한 길 가운데로 그를 이끄느니라.
29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
30 그는 왜곡된 것들을 고안하려고 자신의 두 눈을 감느니라. 자기 입술을 움직이면서 그는 악을 실현하느니라.
30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
31 만일 흰머리가 의의 길 가운데서 발견된다면 그것은 영광의 왕관이라.
31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
32 분노하기를 늦추는 자는 막강한 자보다 나으니라. 그런즉 자기 영을 다스리는 자는 도시를 점령하는 자보다 나으니라.
32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
33 제비는 겉옷 자락 안에 던져지나, 그것의 전체적인 안배는 주께 속하느니라.
33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
