1 지혜가 부르짖지 아니하느냐? 명철이 그녀의 음성을 내놓지 아니하느냐?
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 그녀가 높은 곳들의 꼭대기에 서나니, 행로들의 장소들 안에 있는 길가에 서느니라.
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 그녀가 성문들과, 도시의 출입구와, 문들로 들어오는 곳에서 외치느니라.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
4 “오, 사람들아, 내가 너희를 부르노라. 그런즉 나의 음성은 사람의 아들들을 향하는 것이라.
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
5 오, 너희, 우매한 자들아, 지혜를 이해하라. 그런즉 너희, 어리석은 자들아, 너희는 명철한 마음을 가진 자가 되라.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 들으라. 이는 내가 탁월한 것들을 말할 것이요, 나의 입술을 여는 일이 옳은 것들이 될 것이기 때문이라.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 이는 나의 입이 진리를 말할 것이기 때문이라. 그런즉 사악함은 나의 입술에 가증함이라.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 나의 입에서 나오는 모든 말들은 의 안에 있느니라. 그것들 안에는 왜곡된 것이나 비뚤어진 것이 아무것도 없느니라.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
9 그것들이 이해하는 자에게는 모두 분명한 것이요, 지식을 발견하는 자들에게는 옳은 것이라.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 은이 아니라 나의 훈계를 받으라. 그리고 정선된 금보다는 오히려 지식을 받으라.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 이는 지혜가 루비들보다 낫기 때문이라. 그리고 탐날 만한 모든 것들도 그것과는 비교될 수 없느니라.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12 나 지혜는 신중함과 함께 거하며 독창적인 창안들의 지식을 찾아내느니라.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
13 주를 두려워하는 것은 악을 증오하는 것이라. 교만과 오만과 악한 길과 완고한 입을 내가 증오하느니라.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14 조언과 건전한 지혜는 나의 것이라. 나는 명철이라. 내게는 힘이 있느니라.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15 나를 통하여 왕들이 통치하고 통치자들이 정의를 포고하느니라.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 나를 통하여 통치자들과 귀족들, 곧 땅의 모든 판관들이 다스리느니라.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 나를 사랑하는 자들을 내가 사랑하느니라. 그런즉 일찍 나를 찾는 자들은 나를 발견하리라.
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 재물들과 명예가 나와 함께 있나니, 진정 지속되는 재물들과 의가 나와 함께 있느니라.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19 나의 열매는 금보다 나으니, 진정 정금보다 나으니라. 그런즉 나의 수입은 정선된 은보다 나으니라.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20 나는 의의 길 가운데로, 곧 공의의 행로들 한가운데로 이끄느니라.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21 이는 내가 나를 사랑하는 자들에게 재물을 상속하게 하려 함이라. 그런즉 내가 그들의 보물들을 가득 채워 주겠노라.
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22 주께서 그분의 옛 역사들이 있기 전, 그분의 길의 시초에 나를 소유하셨느니라.
22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 영원부터, 시작부터, 심지어 땅이 존재하기 전부터 내가 세움을 받았느니라.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 깊은 곳들이 없던 때 내가 드러났으니, 곧 물이 넘쳐나는 원천들이 없던 때라.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 산들이 확립되기 전에, 곧 언덕들이 존재하기 전에 내가 드러났으니,
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 그분께서 아직 땅도, 들판들도, 세상의 진토의 가장 높은 부분도 만드시기 전이라.
26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27 그분께서 하늘들을 예비하셨을 때 내가 거기에 있었으니, 그분께서 그 깊은 곳의 표면 위에 제한을 두셨을 때라.
27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 곧, 그분께서 위로 구름들을 확고히 세우셨을 때요, 그분께서 깊음의 원천들에 힘을 주셨을 때요,
28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 그분께서 바다에게 자신의 칙령을 내리시어 물들로 하여금 자신의 명령을 넘어서지 못하게 하셨을 때요, 그분께서 땅의 기초들을 지정하셨을 때라.
29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 그때 나는 마치 그분과 함께 육성된 자로서 그분 곁에 있었노라. 그런즉 내가 매일 그분의 큰 즐거움이 되었고, 항상 그분 앞에 큰 기쁨이 되었노라.
30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 나는 그분의 땅에 거주할 만한 영역을 크게 기뻐하였으니, 나의 큰 즐거움들은 사람들의 아들들과 함께 있었도다.
31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
32 그러므로 오, 너희, 자녀들아, 이제 나에게 경청하라. 이는 나의 길들을 지키는 자들이 복되기 때문이라.
32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
33 훈계를 듣고 지혜롭게 되며, 그것을 거부하지 말라.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 매일 나의 대문들에서 지켜보고 나의 문들의 문기둥들에서 기다리며 나의 말을 듣는 사람은 복되도다.
34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 이는 나를 발견하는 자는 누구나 생명을 발견하고 주의 호의를 얻어 낼 것이기 때문이라.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
36 그러나 나를 대적하여 죄를 짓는 자는 그의 혼을 해치느니라. 나를 증오하는 모든 자들은 죽음을 사랑하느니라.”
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
