1 그때 온 이스라엘이 헤브론으로 다윗에게 스스로 모이며 이같이 말하였더라. “보소서, 우리는 당신의 뼈와 당신의 살이니이다.
1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2 그리고 더욱이 과거에, 곧 사울이 왕이었을 때에도 당신께서는 이스라엘을 이끌고 나가시고 데리고 들어오신 분이셨나이다. 또 주 당신의 하나님께서 왕께 말씀하시기를, ‘너는 나의 백성 이스라엘을 먹일 것이요, 너는 나의 백성 이스라엘을 다스리는 치리자가 되리라.’ 하셨나이다.”
2 And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD thy God said unto thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be ruler over my people Israel.
3 그러므로 이스라엘의 모든 장로들이 헤브론에 이르러 왕에게로 왔더라. 그런즉 다윗이 그들과 헤브론에서 주 앞에 언약을 맺었더라. 또 그들은 사무엘을 통해 주어진 주의 말씀을 따라 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕으로 다윗에게 기름 부었더라.
3 Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.
4 ¶ 이후에 다윗과 온 이스라엘은 예루살렘, 곧 여부스로 갔더라. 그곳에는 그 지역의 거주자들인 여부스족들이 있었더라.
4 ¶ And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.
5 그러자 여부스의 거주자들이 다윗에게 말하기를, “너는 이곳으로 들어오지 말지니라.” 하였더라. 그럼에도 불구하고 다윗이 시온의 성채를 점령하였으니, 그것이 다윗의 도시라.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come hither. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.
6 그리고 다윗이 말하기를, “누구든지 여부스족들을 먼저 치는 자는 우두머리와 대장이 되리라.” 하였더라. 그리하여 스루야의 아들 요압이 먼저 올라가서 우두머리가 되었더라.
6 And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.
7 그리고 다윗은 그 성채 안에 거하였더라. 그러므로 그들이 그것을 다윗의 도시라 불렀더라.
7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.
8 그리고 그가 그 도시 주위를 건축하였으니, 곧 밀로에서부터 주위를 건축하였더라. 그리고 요압이 그 도시의 나머지를 보수하였더라.
8 And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 그렇게 하여 다윗이 점점 더 위대해졌더라. 이는 만군의 주께서 그와 함께 계셨기 때문이라.
9 So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.
10 ¶ 이들은 또한 다윗이 보유하였던 막강한 남자들의 우두머리들이라. 그들은 그와 더불어 그의 왕국 안에서 스스로 힘을 길렀고, 온 이스라엘과 더불어 그리하였으니, 이스라엘과 관련된 주의 말씀에 따라 그를 왕으로 삼으려는 것이었더라.
10 ¶ These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
11 그런즉 다윗이 보유하였던 막강한 남자들의 수가 이러하니라. 학몬족 야쇼브암은 대장들의 우두머리더라. 그는 삼백 명을 대적하여 자기 창을 들어 올려서 홀로 한 번에 살해하였더라.
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.
12 다음으로 그의 뒤를 이어 아호아족인 도도의 아들 엘르아잘이 있었는데 그는 삼 인의 막강한 자들 중 한 명이었더라.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.
13 그는 파스담밈에서 다윗과 함께 있었는데 거기서 필리스티아인들이 전투로 함께 모였고, 그곳에는 보리로 가득한 경지 한 필지가 있었더라. 그리고 백성은 필리스티아인들 앞에서 도망하였더라.
13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14 그리고 그들이 그 한 필지 땅 한가운데서 자신의 위치를 잡고 그 땅을 건져냈으며 필리스티아인들을 살해하였더라. 그리하여 주께서 한 위대한 구출로 그들을 구원하셨더라.
14 And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.
15 ¶ 이제 삼십 명의 대장들 중 세 명이 다윗이 있는 바위로 내려가 아둘람 동굴 안으로 들어갔더라. 그리고 르파임 골짜기 안에는 필리스티아인들의 군대가 주둔하였더라.
15 ¶ Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 그런즉 다윗은 그때 요새 안에 있었고, 필리스티아인들의 주둔군은 그때 베들레헴에 있었더라.
16 And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
17 그런데 다윗이 애타게 바라며 말하기를, “오, 누군가 나에게 베들레헴의 성문 옆에 있는 우물물을 마시라고 준다면!” 하였더라.
17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!
18 그러자 그 세 명이 필리스티아인들의 군대를 뚫고 들어가서 베들레헴의 성문 옆에 있는 우물에서 물을 길어서 그것을 취해다가 다윗에게 그것을 가져왔더라. 그러나 다윗은 그것을 마시려고 하지 아니하였고 오히려 그것을 주께 따라 부으며
18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,
19 말하기를, “내가 이런 것을 행하는 것을 나의 하나님께서 내게 금하시기를 바라노라. 그들의 생명들의 위험을 무릅쓴 이 남자들의 피를 내가 마셔야 하겠느냐? 이는 그들이 자신들의 생명들을 위태롭게 하면서까지 그것을 가져왔기 때문이라.” 하였더라. 그러므로 그가 그것을 마시려고 하지 아니하였더라. 이 가장 막강한 자들 세 명이 이런 것들을 행하였더라.
19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.
20 ¶ 다음으로 요압의 형제 아비샤이인 그는 세 명 중에 우두머리였더라. 이는 그가 삼백 명을 대적하여 자기 창을 들어 올려 그들을 살해하였으며 그 세 명 가운데 이름을 얻었기 때문이라.
20 ¶ And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.
21 그 세 명 중에서 그는 다른 둘보다 더 명망이 있었더라. 이는 그가 그들의 대장이었기 때문이라. 하지만 그가 처음 세 명에는 미치지 못하였더라.
21 Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: howbeit he attained not to the first three.
22 캅즈엘 출신의 용맹한 남자의 자손이자 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 많은 행적들을 이룬 자였더라. 그가 사자 같은 두 명의 모압 남자들을 살해하였더라. 또한 그는 눈 내리는 어느 날에 구렁 안으로 내려가서 사자 한 마리를 잡아죽였더라.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.
23 또 그가 오 큐빗 높이의 커다란 키를 가진 남자였던, 이집트인을 살해하였더라. 그리고 그 이집트인의 손에는 베틀 채 같은 창이 있었더라. 그런데 그가 그에게 방망이를 가지고 내려가서 이집트인의 손에서 그 창을 빼낸 뒤 그가 소유한 창으로 그를 살해하였더라.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 이런 일들을 행하였으니, 세 명의 막강한 자들 가운데 이름을 얻었더라.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighties.
25 보라, 그가 삼십 명 가운데 명망 있는 자였으나 처음 세 명에는 미치지 못하였더라. 이후에 다윗이 그를 그의 경호대를 다스리도록 임명하였더라.
25 Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
26 ¶ 또한 군대들 가운데 용맹한 남자들은 요압의 형제 아사헬과, 베들레헴 출신 도도의 아들 엘하난과,
26 ¶ Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
27 하롤족 샴못과, 플론족 헬레즈와,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
28 트코족 익케시의 아들 이라와, 안톳족 아비에젤과,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,
29 후샷족 십브카이와, 아호아족 일라이와,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
30 느토팟족 마하라이와, 느토팟족 바아나흐의 아들 헬렛과,
30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
31 베냐민 자녀들에 귀속되어 있는 기브아 출신 리바이의 아들 이다이와, 피라돈족 브나야와,
31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
32 가아시 시내들의 후라이와, 아르밧족 아비엘과,
32 Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
33 바하룸족 아즈마웻과, 샤알본족 엘리아바와,
33 Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,
34 기존족 하솀의 아들들과, 하랄족 샤게의 아들 요나단과,
34 The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,
35 하랄족 사칼의 아들 아히암과, 우르의 아들 엘리팔과,
35 Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
36 므케랏족 헤펠과, 플론족 아히쟈와,
36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,
37 칼멜족 헤즈로와, 에즈바이의 아들 나아라이와,
37 Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,
38 나단의 형제 요엘과, 학게리의 아들 밉할과,
38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,
39 암몬족 젤렉과, 스루야의 아들 요압의 병기 드는 자 베롯족 나하라이와,
39 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armourbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,
40 이델족 이라와, 이델족 가렙과,
40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
41 히타이트족 우리야와, 알라이의 아들 자밧과,
41 Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,
42 르우벤족 시자의 아들로 르우벤족들의 우두머리인 아디나와, 그와 함께한 삼십 명과,
42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a captain of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,
43 마아카의 아들 하난과, 미든족 요샤팟과,
43 Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,
44 아슈트랏족 웃지아와, 아로엘족 호단의 아들들인 샤마와 여히엘과,
44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,
45 쉬므리의 아들 여디아엘과, 그의 형제 티즈족 요하와,
45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,
46 마하위족 엘리엘과, 엘나암의 아들들인 여리바이와 요샤위야와, 모압족 이드마와,
46 Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
47 엘리엘과, 오벳과, 므소바족 야시엘이었더라.
47 Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel the Mesobaite.
