1 그리고 이것은 하나님의 사람 모세가 자신이 죽기 전에 이스라엘 자녀들을 축복하였던 그 복이라.
1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
2 그런즉 그가 이같이 말하였더라. “주께서 시나이에서 오셨고, 세일에서 일어나셔서 그들에게 이르셨도다. 그분께서 파란산에서 빛을 발하셨으니, 그분께서 수만 성도들과 함께 오셨도다. 그분의 오른손에서 열화와 같은 법이 그들을 위하여 나갔도다.
2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
3 진정 그분께서 백성을 사랑하셨나이다. 그분의 모든 성도들은 당신의 손안에 있나이다. 그리고 그들은 당신의 두 발 앞에 앉았나이다. 모든 이가 저마다 당신의 말씀들을 받아들이리이다.
3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.
4 모세가 우리에게 율법을 명령하였으니, 바로 야곱의 회중의 유산이로다.
4 Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
5 그런즉 백성의 수장들과 이스라엘 지파들이 함께 모였을 때 그는 여슈룬에서 왕이었도다.
5 And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.
6 ¶ 르우벤으로 하여금 살게 하고 죽지 않게 하라. 그런즉 그의 사람들이 소수가 되지 않게 하라.
6 ¶ Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
7 ¶ 다음으로 이것은 유다에 관한 복이라. 그런즉 그가 말하기를, ‘주여, 유다의 음성을 들으소서. 그리하여 그를 그의 백성에게로 데려오소서. 그의 두 손이 그에게 족하게 하시고, 당신께서는 그의 원수들로부터 그에게 도움이 되소서.’ 하였도다.
7 ¶ And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies.
8 ¶ 다음으로 레위에 관하여 그가 이같이 말하였도다. ‘당신의 둠밈과 당신의 우림이 당신의 거룩한 이와 함께 있게 하소서. 당신께서 맛사에서 그를 증명하셨으며, 당신께서 므리바의 물들에서 그와 분쟁하셨나이다.
8 ¶ And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
9 그는 자기 아버지에게와 자기 어머니에게 말하기를, ‘내가 그를 보지 않았도다.’ 하였고, 그는 자기 형제들도 인정하지 아니하였으며, 자기 자신의 자식들도 알지 아니하였나이다. 이는 그들이 당신의 말씀을 준수하고 당신의 언약을 지켰기 때문이니이다.
9 Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.
10 그들은 당신의 공의로운 법규들을 야곱에게 가르칠 것이요, 당신의 율법을 이스라엘에게 가르칠 것이니이다. 그들은 당신 앞에 향을 놓을 것이요, 당신의 제단 위에 온전한 번제의 희생 제물을 놓을 것이니이다.
10 They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
11 주여, 그의 재물에 복을 주시고 그의 두 손이 하는 일을 기꺼이 받아 주소서. 그를 대적하여 일어나는 자들의 허리와 그를 증오하는 자들의 허리를 관통하여 치소서. 이는 그들로 하여금 다시 일어나지 않게 하려 함이니이다.’
11 Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.
12 ¶ 다음으로 베냐민에 관하여 그가 말하기를, ‘주의 사랑받는 이는 그분 곁에서 안전하게 지내리로다. 그런즉 주께서 그를 온종일 덮으시리니, 그는 그분의 어깨들 사이에서 지내리로다.’ 하였도다.
12 ¶ And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.
13 ¶ 다음으로 요셉에 관하여 그가 이같이 말하였도다. ‘그의 지역이 주의 복을 받기를 기원하노니, 하늘의 보배로운 것들과, 이슬과, 아래에 가로누운 깊음과,
13 ¶ And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
14 해에 의하여 생산된 귀한 열매들과, 달에 의하여 꺼내진 귀한 것들과,
14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
15 고대의 산들의 으뜸가는 것들과, 지속되는 언덕들의 귀한 것들과,
15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,
16 땅의 귀한 것들과 그곳의 충만함과, 떨기나무 속에 거하시던 분의 선하신 뜻으로 인하여 그러하기를 바라노라. 요셉의 머리 위에, 곧 자기 형제들로부터 구별된 자의 머리끝에 복이 임할지어다.
16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
17 그의 영광은 그의 수송아지의 첫배 새끼 같고, 그의 뿔들은 유니콘들의 뿔들 같도다. 그는 그것들로 백성들을 땅의 끝들까지 함께 밀어내리라. 그런즉 그들은 수만의 에프라임이요, 그들은 수천의 므낫세로다.’
17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
18 ¶ 다음으로 스불룬에 관하여 그가 이같이 말하였도다. ‘스불룬아, 네가 뻗어 나가는 것을 크게 기뻐하라. 이어서 잇사칼아, 너의 천막들을 크게 기뻐하라.
18 ¶ And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents.
19 그들이 백성을 산으로 부르리라. 거기서 그들이 의의 희생 제물들을 바치리라. 이는 그들이 바다들의 풍부함과 모래 속에 감추어진 보물들을 빨아들이기 때문이라.’
19 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.
20 ¶ 다음으로 갓에 관하여 그가 이같이 말하였도다. ‘갓을 확장시키시는 분께서 찬양받으시기를 바라노라. 그는 한 마리의 사자같이 거하고, 정수리와 더불어 팔을 찢는도다.
20 ¶ And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.
21 그런즉 그가 자신을 위하여 첫 부분을 마련하였으니, 입법자의 한 몫 가운데 그가 거기서 자리를 잡은 까닭이라. 그런즉 그가 백성의 수장들과 함께 왔으니, 그가 주의 정의를 집행하였고, 이스라엘과 함께 그분의 공의로운 법규들을 집행하였도다.’
21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his judgments with Israel.
22 ¶ 다음으로 단에 관하여 그가 말하기를, ‘단은 사자 새끼로다. 그가 바샨으로부터 뛰어오르리라.’ 하였도다.
22 ¶ And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp: he shall leap from Bashan.
23 ¶ 다음으로 납탈리에 관하여 그가 말하기를, ‘오, 납탈리야, 호의로 만족하고 주의 복으로 충만한 자야, 너는 서쪽과 남쪽을 차지하라.’ 하였도다.
23 ¶ And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.
24 ¶ 다음으로 아셸에 관하여 그가 이같이 말하였도다. ‘아셸로 하여금 자녀들과 함께 복을 받게 하라. 그로 하여금 자기 형제들에게 기꺼이 받아들여지게 하라. 그리고 그로 하여금 그의 발을 기름 속에 담그게 하라.
24 ¶ And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
25 너의 신발들은 철과 놋이 되리로다. 그리고 너의 날들처럼 너의 힘도 그와 같으리로다.’
25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
26 ¶ 여슈룬의 하나님과 같은 분은 아무도 없도다. 그분께서 너의 도움이 되시려고 하늘에 올라타시나니, 그분의 탁월하심 속에서 창공에 올라타시는도다.
26 ¶ There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
27 영존하시는 하나님께서 너의 피난처가 되시나니, 그 아래에는 영원하신 팔들이 있도다. 그런즉 그분께서는 너의 앞에서 그 원수를 몰아내시리로다. 그러면서 말씀하시기를, ‘그들을 멸하라.’ 하시리로다.
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
28 이스라엘은 그때 홀로 안전하게 거하리로다. 야곱의 원천이 곡식과 포도즙의 지역 위에 있으리로다. 또한 그의 하늘들도 이슬 방울을 떨어뜨리리로다.
28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
29 오, 이스라엘아, 너는 행복하도다. 오, 주에 의하여 구원받은 백성아, 너와 같은 자가 누구냐? 그분께서는 너의 도움의 방패이시며 너의 탁월함의 칼이시로다. 그런즉 너의 원수들은 너에게 거짓말쟁이들로 발견되리라. 그리고 너는 그들의 높은 처소들 위를 밟으리로다.”
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
