1 그리고 다윗이 언덕의 꼭대기를 조금 지났을 때, 보라, 므피보솃의 종 지바가 안장을 얹은 두 필의 나귀들을 대동하여 그를 맞이하였으니, 그것들 위에는 이백 덩이의 빵과 건포도들 일백 뭉치와 여름 과일들 일백 개와 포도즙 한 부대가 있었더라.
1 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
2 그런즉 왕이 지바에게 말하기를, “네가 이것들로 뜻하는 바가 무엇이냐?” 하였더라. 이에 지바가 말하기를, “나귀들은 왕의 집안사람들이 타도록 하기 위함이요, 빵과 여름 과일은 청년들이 먹도록 하기 위함이요, 포도즙은 광야 가운데서 기진한 자들이 마시도록 하기 위함이니이다.” 하였더라.
2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
3 그러자 왕이 말하기를, “그런데 너의 주인의 아들은 어디 있느냐?” 하였더라. 이에 지바가 왕에게 말하기를, “보소서, 그가 예루살렘에 거하나이다. 이는 그가 말하기를, ‘오늘 이스라엘 집이 나의 아버지의 왕국을 나에게 반환하리라.’ 하였기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.
3 And the king said, And where is thy master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
4 그때 왕이 지바에게 말하기를, “보라, 므피보솃에게 귀속되어 있는 모든 것들은 너의 것이라.” 하였더라. 그러자 지바가 말하기를, “제가 겸손하게 당신께 간청하오니, 오, 내 주 왕이여, 제가 당신의 목전에서 은혜를 발견하게 하소서.” 하였더라.
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.
5 ¶ 그리고 다윗왕이 바후림에 도착하였을 때, 보라, 거기에서 사울의 집에 속한 가족 중 한 남자가 나왔는데, 그의 이름은 시므이로, 게라의 아들이었더라. 그는 앞으로 나오면서 자신이 나오는 동안 계속 저주하였더라.
5 ¶ And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.
6 그러면서 그는 다윗과 다윗왕의 모든 종들에게 돌들을 던졌는데, 모든 백성과 모든 막강한 남자들이 그의 오른편과 그의 왼편에 있었더라.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
7 그리고 시므이가 저주할 때 그는 이같이 말하였더라. “너, 피비린내 나는 남자야, 너, 벨리알의 사람아, 나오라, 나오라.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial:
8 주께서 사울을 대신하여 네가 통치한 것에 있어서 그의 집의 모든 피를 너의 위로 되돌리셨도다. 그리하여 주께서 너의 아들 압살롬의 손안에 왕국을 넘기셨도다. 그런즉 보라, 너는 너의 해로움 속에서 붙잡혔으니, 네가 피비린내 나는 남자이기 때문이라.”
8 The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
9 ¶ 그때 스루야의 아들 아비샤이가 왕에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 이 죽은 개가 내 주 왕을 저주해야 하나이까? 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 저로 하여금 건너가서 그의 머리를 베어 버리게 하소서.” 하였더라.
9 ¶ Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
10 그러자 왕이 말하기를, “너희, 스루야의 아들들아, 내가 너희와 무슨 상관이 있느냐? 그가 그렇게 저주하게 하라. 이는 주께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, ‘다윗을 저주하라.’ 하셨기 때문이라. 그렇다면 누가 ‘어찌하여 네가 그렇게 하였느냐?’ 하고 말하겠느냐?” 하였더라.
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
11 그러면서 다윗이 아비샤이와 그의 모든 종들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “보라, 나의 내부에서 나온 나의 아들이 나의 생명을 찾거늘, 하물며 이 베냐민족은 지금 얼마나 더 그리하겠느냐? 그를 내버려 두라. 그리고 그로 하여금 저주하게 하라. 이는 주께서 그에게 분부하셨기 때문이라.
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
12 주께서 혹시 나의 고난을 보시고, 그가 이날 저주한 것으로 인하여 주께서 나에게 선으로 되갚아 주실까 하노라.”
12 It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
13 그리고 다윗과 그의 사람들이 길을 가는 동안 시므이가 그의 맞은편에서 언덕의 능선을 따라갔으니, 그가 가는 동안 저주하며 그에게 돌들을 내던지고 티끌을 던졌더라.
13 And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill's side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
14 이윽고 왕과 그와 함께 있던 모든 백성이 지쳤는데, 거기서 스스로 기력을 되찾았더라.
14 And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.
15 ¶ 이후에 압살롬과, 이스라엘 사람들인 온 백성이 예루살렘에 입성하였고 아히도펠이 그와 함께하였더라.
15 ¶ And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
16 그리고 다윗의 친구인 아렉족 후샤이가 압살롬에게 왔을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 후샤이가 압살롬에게 말하기를, “하나님께서 왕을 구원하시기를 바라나이다. 하나님께서 왕을 구원하시기를 바라나이다.” 하였더라.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.
17 그러자 압살롬이 후샤이에게 말하기를, “이것이 너의 친구를 향한 너의 친절이냐? 어찌하여 너는 너의 친구와 함께 가지 아니하였느냐?” 하였더라.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
18 이에 후샤이가 압살롬에게 이같이 말하였더라. “아니니이다. 제가 오직 주와 이 백성과 온 이스라엘 사람들이 선택하는 자의 것이 되고 제가 그와 함께 거하겠나이다.
18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
19 그리고 또 제가 누구를 섬겨야 하겠나이까? 제가 그의 아들의 면전에서 섬겨야 하지 아니하겠나이까? 제가 당신의 아버지의 면전에서 섬겼듯이, 저는 당신의 면전에 그렇게 있겠나이다.”
19 And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father's presence, so will I be in thy presence.
20 ¶ 그때 압살롬이 아히도펠에게 말하기를, “우리가 무엇을 해야 할지 너희 가운데서 책략을 내라.” 하였더라.
20 ¶ Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.
21 그러자 아히도펠이 압살롬에게 말하기를, “당신의 아버지가 집을 지키라고 남긴 그의 첩들에게 들어가소서. 그리하면 온 이스라엘은 당신이 당신의 아버지에게 혐오를 받게 된 것을 들으리이다. 그렇다면 당신과 함께하는 모든 이들의 손이 강해지리이다.” 하였더라.
21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father's concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
22 그렇게 하여 그들이 그 집의 꼭대기 위에다 압살롬에게 한 천막을 펼쳐 주었더라. 그러자 압살롬이 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 자기 아버지의 첩들에게로 들어갔더라.
22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.
23 그런즉 아히도펠이 그 당시에 조언한 그의 책략은 마치 사람이 하나님의 신탁의 말씀에 묻는 것 같았더라. 아히도펠의 모든 책략은 다윗에게도 압살롬에게도 그러하였더라.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
