1 그러고 난 뒤에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 다윗이 필리스티아인들을 쳐서 그들을 정복하였더라. 그런 다음에 다윗이 메덱암마를 필리스티아인들의 손에서 빼앗았더라.
1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 그런 다음에 그가 모압을 쳐서 땅바닥에 그들을 집어 던지고 한 줄로 그들을 측량하였으니, 곧 두 줄들로 측량된 자는 죽음에 처하고 한 줄 안에 들어온 자는 목숨을 건졌더라. 그렇게 하고 나자 모압족들이 다윗의 종들이 되어 예물들을 가져왔더라.
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
3 ¶ 다윗이 르홉의 아들이자 조바흐 왕인 하닷에젤도 쳤으니, 그가 유프라테스강에서 그의 국경선을 회복하러 갔을 때라.
3 ¶ David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
4 그리하여 다윗이 그에게서 일천 대의 병거들과 칠백 명의 기병들과 이만 명의 보병들을 빼앗았으니, 다윗이 병거를 끄는 모든 말들의 뒷다리의 힘줄을 끊었으나 일백 대의 병거들에 쓸 말들은 확보해 두었더라.
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
5 그리고 다마스쿠스의 시리아인들이 조바흐 왕 하닷에젤을 구하러 왔을 때, 다윗이 시리아인들 중 이만 이천 명의 사람들을 살해하였더라.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 그때 다윗이 주둔군들을 다마스쿠스의 시리아에 두었더라. 그러자 시리아인들이 다윗에게 종들이 되어 선물들을 가져왔더라. 그런즉 주께서 다윗이 어디로 가든지 그를 보존하셨더라.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
7 이후에 다윗이 하닷에젤의 종들에게 있었던 금 방패들을 취하여서 그것들을 예루살렘으로 가져왔더라.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 그리고 하닷에젤의 도시들인 베타와 베로다이에서 다윗왕이 지극히 많은 놋을 가져왔더라.
8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9 ¶ 다윗이 하닷에젤의 모든 군대를 쳤다는 것을 하맛 왕 토이가 듣자,
9 ¶ When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
10 그때 토이가 자기 아들 요람을 다윗왕에게 보내어 그를 문안하며 그를 축복하였으니, 그가 하닷에젤과 대적하여 싸워 그를 쳤기 때문이라. 이는 하닷에젤과 토이 사이에는 전쟁들이 있었기 때문이라. 그런즉 요람이 자기 곁에 은그릇들과 금그릇들과 놋그릇들을 가져갔더라.
10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11 다윗왕은 자신이 정복한 모든 민족들에게서 취하여 그가 봉헌한 은과 금과 더불어 그것들도 주께 봉헌하였으니,
11 Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
12 곧 시리아와 모압과, 암몬의 후손들과 필리스티아인들과 아말렉에서 취한 것들이며, 르홉의 아들이자 조바흐 왕인 하닷에젤의 노획물에서 취한 것들이라.
12 Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 그런즉 다윗이 소금 골짜기 가운데서 일만 팔천 명의 시리아인들을 치고 되돌아왔을 때 그가 이름을 떨쳤더라.
13 And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
14 ¶ 그리고 그가 에돔에 주둔군들을 두었더라. 에돔 전체에 걸쳐 그가 주둔군들을 두었으니, 에돔에 속한 모든 자들이 다윗의 종들이 되었더라. 그런즉 주께서 다윗이 어디로 가든지 그를 보존하셨더라.
14 ¶ And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
15 그리고 다윗이 온 이스라엘을 통치하였으니, 다윗이 그의 온 백성에게 공의와 정의를 집행하였더라.
15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
16 그리고 스루야의 아들 요압이 군대를 다스렸으며 아힐룻의 아들 여호샤팟은 역사 기록관이었더라.
16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17 그리고 아히툽의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장들이었고 스라야는 서기관이었더라.
17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
18 그리고 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 크렛족들과 펠렛족들 모두를 다스렸으며 다윗의 아들들은 최고 치리자들이었더라.
18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
