1 이제 이것들이 다윗의 마지막 말들이라. 이새의 아들 다윗이 말하였으니, 높이 일으켜 세워진 남자요, 야곱의 하나님의 기름 부음 받은 자요, 이스라엘의 감미로운 시편을 짓는 시인이 이같이 말하였더라.
1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 “주의 영께서 나를 통하여 전하셨고, 그분의 말씀이 나의 혀 안에 있었노라.
2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3 이스라엘의 하나님께서 말씀하셨도다. 이스라엘의 반석께서 나에게 이야기하셨도다. ‘사람들을 다스리는 자는 반드시 공정해야 하며 하나님을 두려워함으로 다스려야 하느니라.
3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 그리하면 그는 해가 떠오르는 때의 아침 햇빛 같으리니, 곧 구름들이 없는 아침 같고 비온 뒤에 밝게 비침으로 땅에서 돋아나는 연한 풀 같으리라.’
4 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5 비록 나의 집이 하나님과 더불어 이와 같지 않을지라도, 그럼에도 그분께서 나와 함께 영원한 언약을 맺으셨고 모든 것들을 제정하시어 확실하게 하셨도다. 이는 그분께서 그것을 자라게 하지 아니하실지라도 이것이 나의 모든 구원이요, 나의 모든 열망이기 때문이라.
5 Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6 ¶ 그러나 벨리알의 아들들은 그들 모두가 내다 버려진 가시나무들같이 되리라. 이는 그들이 사람들의 손으로 잡힐 수 없는 자들이기 때문이라.
6 ¶ But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7 다만 그들에게 손댈 사람은 반드시 철과 창 자루로 방비가 강화되어야 할지니라. 그리고 그들은 같은 곳 안에서 불로 모조리 태워져야 하리라.”
7 But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
8 ¶ 이것들이 다윗이 보유한 막강한 남자들의 이름들이라. 대장들 가운데 우두머리로서 자리에 앉았던 타크몬족, 바로 그가 에젠족인 아디노였더라. 그가 팔백 명을 대적하여 자기 창을 들어 올렸으니, 그가 그들을 한 번에 살해하였더라.
8 ¶ These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 그리고 그의 뒤를 이어 도도의 아들 엘르아잘이 있었으니, 아호아족이요, 다윗의 막강한 세 남자들 중 한 명이었더라. 전투하러 거기에 함께 모였던 필리스티아인들에게 그들이 싸움을 걸었는데 이스라엘 사람들이 떠나 버리자,
9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10 그가 일어나 그의 손이 지쳐서 그의 손이 칼에 달라붙을 때까지 필리스티아인들을 쳤더라. 그리하여 주께서 그날 위대한 승리를 이루셨도다. 그러자 백성이 그의 뒤를 따라 되돌아오면서 노획만 할 뿐이었더라.
10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 그리고 그의 뒤를 이어 하랄족 아게의 아들 샴마흐가 있었더라. 이후에 필리스티아인들이 함께 모여 군부대를 이루었으니, 그곳은 렌틸콩들로 가득한 한 필의 경지였는데 백성이 필리스티아인들로부터 도망쳤더라.
11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 그러나 그는 그 경지의 한복판에 서서 그것을 방어하며 필리스티아인들을 살해하였더라. 그런즉 주께서 위대한 승리를 이루셨더라.
12 But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13 그리고 삼십 명의 우두머리 중에서 세 명이 내려가 수확하는 시기에 아둘람 동굴로 다윗에게 이르렀는데, 필리스티아인들의 군부대가 르파임 골짜기 가운데 진을 쳤더라.
13 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14 그리고 다윗은 그때 한 요새 안에 있었으며, 필리스티아인들의 주둔군은 그때 베들레헴 안에 있었더라.
14 And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15 그런데 다윗이 애타게 바라며 말하기를, “오, 누군가 베들레헴 성문 옆에 있는 우물물을 내게 마시도록 준다면 좋겠노라!” 하였더라.
15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16 그러자 막강한 남자들 세 명이 필리스티아인들의 군대를 뚫고 들어가서 성문 옆에 있던 베들레헴의 우물에서 물을 길어다가 그것을 취하였으니, 다윗에게로 그것을 가져 왔더라. 그럼에도 불구하고 그는 그것을 마시려 하지 아니하고 오히려 주께 그것을 부어 드렸더라.
16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17 그러면서 그가 말하기를, “오, 주여, 제가 결코 이런 일을 하지 아니하리이다. 이것은 자신들의 생명의 위험을 무릅쓰고 간 사람들의 피가 아니니이까?” 하였더라. 그러므로 그가 그것을 마시려고 하지 아니하였더라. 이 막강한 남자들 세 명이 이러한 일들을 행하였더라.
17 And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 그리고 요압의 형제요, 스루야의 아들인 아비샤이가 세 명 중에 우두머리였더라. 그런즉 그가 삼백 명을 대적하여 자기 창을 들어 올려 그들을 살해하였으니, 세 명 가운데 이름을 얻었더라.
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19 그가 세 명 중에 가장 존귀하지 아니하였느냐? 그러므로 그가 그들의 대장이었더라. 하지만 그가 처음 세 명에는 미치지 못하였더라.
19 Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20 그리고 여호야다의 아들 브나야, 곧 어느 용맹한 남자의 자손이요, 캅즈엘 출신이요, 많은 행적들을 이룬 자, 그가 사자 같은 두 명의 모압 남자들을 살해하였더라. 그는 또한 눈이 오는 시기에 구렁 한가운데로 내려가서 사자 한 마리를 잡아죽였더라.
20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 그리고 그가 이집트인인 훤칠한 남자를 살해하였는데 그 이집트인은 자기 손에 창을 가지고 있었으나 그가 그에게 방망이를 가지고 내려가서 그 이집트인의 손에서 창을 빼낸 뒤 그가 소유한 창으로 그를 살해하였더라.
21 And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 이러한 일들을 행하여 세 명의 막강한 남자들 사이에 이름을 얻었더라.
22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23 그는 삼십 명보다 더 존귀하였으나 그가 처음 세 명에는 미치지 못하였더라. 그런즉 다윗이 그를 자기 경호대를 통솔하도록 세웠더라.
23 He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24 요압의 형제 아사헬은 삼십 명 중에 한 명이요, 베들레헴 출신 도도의 아들 엘하난,
24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
25 하롯족 샴마흐, 하롯족 엘리카,
25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 팔티족 헬레즈, 트코족 익케시의 아들인 이라,
26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 아네돗족 아비에젤, 후샷족 므분나이,
27 Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28 아호아족 잘몬, 느토팟족 마하라이,
28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 느토팟족이자 바아나흐의 아들 헬렙, 베냐민 자녀들에 속한 기브아에서 나온 리바이의 아들 잇타이,
29 Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30 피라돈족 브나야, 가아시의 시내들에 속한 힛다이,
30 Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 아르밧족 아비알본, 바르훔족 아즈마웻,
31 Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32 샤알본족 엘리아바, 야셴의 아들들 중 하나인 요나단,
32 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33 하랄족 샴마흐, 하랄족 샤랄의 아들 아히암,
33 Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
34 마아캇족 사람의 손자이자 아하스바이의 아들인 엘리펠렛, 길론족 아히도펠의 아들 엘리암,
34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35 칼멜족 헤즈라이, 아랍족 파아라이,
35 Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36 조바흐 출신 나단의 아들 이갈, 갓족 바니,
36 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37 암몬족 젤렉, 스루야의 아들 요압의 병기 드는 자, 곧 브에롯족 사람 나하라이,
37 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38 이델족 이라, 이델족 가렙,
38 Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
39 히타이트족 우리야니, 총 삼십칠 명이더라.
39 Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
