1 그때 슈아족 빌닷이 대답하여 이같이 말하였더라.
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 “얼마나 오랫동안 있어야 너희가 말들을 끝마치겠느냐? 주목하라. 그리하면 이후에 우리가 이야기하겠노라.
2 How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
3 어찌 우리가 짐승들같이 여겨지고 너희 목전에 하찮다는 평을 받느냐?
3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?
4 그는 그의 분노 가운데 자신의 몸을 찢는도다. 너를 위하여 땅이 버려지겠느냐? 또 반석이 그의 처소에서 옮겨지겠느냐?
4 He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?
5 진정, 사악한 자의 빛은 꺼뜨려질 것이요, 그의 불에서 나오는 불티는 빛나지 아니하리라.
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
6 그 빛은 그의 장막 안에서 어두워질 것이요, 그의 불빛은 그의 곁에서 꺼뜨려질 것이라.
6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.
7 그의 힘의 발자취들은 협소해질 것이요, 그 자신의 계획은 자신을 넘어뜨릴 것이라.
7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
8 이는 그가 자기 자신의 두 발에 의하여 그물 속에 던져졌고, 그가 올무 위를 걷기 때문이라.
8 For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.
9 덫이 그를 발꿈치 쪽으로 잡을 것이요, 강도가 그를 대적하여 승리하리라.
9 The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.
10 올무가 그를 노려 지면 위에 놓여 있으며, 그를 노리는 함정이 길 위에 놓여 있도다.
10 The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
11 공포들이 사면에서 그를 무섭게 만들 것이요, 그의 두 발 쪽으로 그를 몰아내리라.
11 Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.
12 그의 힘은 허기로 쇠약해질 것이요, 멸망이 그의 측면에서 준비되어 있으리라.
12 His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.
13 그것이 그의 피부의 힘을 집어삼키리라. 바로 죽음의 첫 태생이 그의 힘을 집어삼키리라.
13 It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.
14 그의 확신이 그의 장막에서 뿌리 뽑힐 것이요, 그것이 그를 공포들의 왕에게 데려가리라.
14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
15 그것이 그의 장막 안에서 거하리니, 그의 것이 아무것도 없는 까닭이라. 유황이 그의 거처 위에 흩어지리라.
15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16 밑으로는 그의 뿌리들이 말라 버릴 것이요, 위로는 그의 가지가 잘려 나가리라.
16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
17 그에 대한 기억은 땅에서 멸절될 것이요, 그는 거리에서 이름을 갖지 못하리라.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
18 그는 빛에서 어둠으로 내몰려 세상에서 축출되리라.
18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19 그는 그의 백성 가운데 아들도, 손자도 없을 것이요, 누구도 그의 주거지들 안에 남아 있지 아니하리라.
19 He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
20 앞서 간 자들이 겁에 질렸던 것처럼, 그를 뒤따라오는 자들은 그의 날을 보고 당혹스러우리라.
20 They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.
21 확실히 사악한 자들의 주거지들은 그러하나니, 이것이 하나님을 알지 아니하는 자의 처소니라.”
21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
