1 이러한 이유로 욥이여, 내가 당신에게 간구하오니, 나의 이야기들을 들으시고 나의 모든 말들에 경청하소서.
1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
2 보소서, 이제 내가 나의 입을 열었고 나의 혀가 내 입 안에서 이야기하였나이다.
2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
3 나의 말들은 나의 마음의 올바름에서 나올 것이요, 나의 입술은 지식을 분명하게 발설할 것이니이다.
3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
4 하나님의 영이 저를 만드셨고 전능하신 분의 호흡이 저에게 생명을 주셨나이다.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
5 만일 당신이 나에게 답할 수 있다면 당신의 말들을 내 앞에 질서 있게 정리하고 일어서소서.
5 If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
6 보소서, 내가 당신의 소원에 따라 하나님을 대신하나이다. 나 또한 진흙에서 형성되었나이다.
6 Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
7 보소서, 나의 공포가 당신을 무섭게 만들지 아니하리이다. 또한 나의 손이 당신 위에서 무거워지지 아니하리이다.
7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
8 확실히 당신은 내가 듣는 데서 이야기하였고 나는 당신의 말들의 음성을 들었나니, 이같이 말하였나이다.
8 Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
9 ‘나는 불법과 무관하며 정결하도다. 나는 무고하도다. 또한 내 안에는 죄악이 없도다.
9 I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
10 보라, 그분께서 나를 대적할 계기들을 찾으시는도다. 그분께서 나를 그분의 원수로 여기시는도다.
10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
11 그분께서 나의 두 발에 차꼬들을 두시는도다. 그분께서 나의 모든 행로들을 유의하시는도다.’
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
12 보소서, 이 점에서 당신은 정의롭지 아니하나이다. 내가 당신에게 답하겠나니, 하나님께서는 사람보다 더 위대하시나이다.
12 Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
13 어찌하여 당신은 그분을 대적하여 분쟁하나이까? 이는 그분께서 그분의 사정들 중 어떤 것도 설명하지 아니하시기 때문이니이다.
13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
14 이는 하나님께서 한 번 말씀하시고, 진정 두 번 말씀하시나 그럼에도 사람이 그것을 알아차리지 못하기 때문이니이다.
14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
15 꿈속에서, 밤의 현시 가운데서, 깊은 잠이 사람들 위에 엄습할 때, 침상 위에서 선잠들을 잘 때 그러하나이다.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16 그때 그분께서 사람들의 귀를 여시고 그들의 교훈을 인 치시나니,
16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17 이는 그분께서 사람을 그의 목적에서 물러나게 하시고 사람에게서 교만을 숨기려 하심이니이다.
17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18 그분께서 그의 혼을 구렁에 빠지지 않도록 막으시고 그의 생명을 칼에 의하여 멸절되지 않도록 막으시나이다.
18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19 그가 또한 자신의 침상 위에서 아픔으로, 그의 많은 뼈들이 강한 통증으로 징계를 받나이다.
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
20 그렇기에 그의 생명은 빵을, 그의 혼은 맛 좋은 음식을 혐오하나이다.
20 So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
21 그의 살은 소멸되어 버리나니 그것이 보여지지 못하게 되는도다. 또 보이지 아니하던 그의 뼈들은 툭 튀어나오나이다.
21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
22 진정 그의 혼은 음부에 가까이 다가가며, 그의 생명은 멸망시키는 자들에게로 가까이 다가가나이다.
22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
23 만일 일천 명 가운데 한 명인 해석자, 곧 전령이 그의 곁에 있어서 그분의 올바르심을 사람에게 보이신다면,
23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
24 그때는 그분께서 그에게 은혜로우시어 말씀하시기를, ‘구렁으로 내려가는 데서 그를 구출하라. 내가 속량 값을 얻었도다.’ 하시나이다.
24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
25 그의 살이 아이의 것보다 더 생기 있게 될 것이요, 그가 그의 젊은 시절의 날들로 되돌아가리이다.
25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:
26 그가 하나님께 기도할 것이요, 그가 그분께 호감이 되리이다. 또 그가 그분의 얼굴을 즐거움으로 보리이다. 이는 그분께서 사람에게 자신의 의를 돌려주실 것이기 때문이니이다.
26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
27 그분께서 사람들을 바라보시나니, 만일 누군가 말하기를, ‘내가 죄를 지었고 옳은 것을 그르쳤나니 그것이 나에게 유익하지 아니하였도다.’ 한다면,
27 He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
28 그분께서 그의 혼을 구렁으로 내려가는 데서 구출하실 것이요, 그의 생명이 빛을 보리이다.
28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
29 보라, 하나님께서 빈번하게 이 모든 것들을 사람과 더불어 수행하시나니,
29 Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
30 그의 혼을 구렁에서 데리고 나가시고자 함이요, 산 자들의 빛을 받게 하려 하심이니이다.
30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 잘 유의하소서, 오, 욥이여, 나에게 경청하소서. 당신의 침묵을 지키소서. 그리하면 내가 이야기하겠나이다.
31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
32 만일 당신이 무언가 말할 것이 있다면 나에게 답하소서. 이야기하소서. 나는 당신의 정당함을 입증하기를 열망하기 때문이니이다.
32 If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
33 만일 없다면 나에게 경청하소서. 당신의 침묵을 지키소서. 그리하면 내가 당신에게 지혜를 가르치리이다.”
33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
