1 이 일들이 있은 후에 주께서 다른 칠십 명도 임명하시어 그분께서 친히 가려고 하시는 모든 도시와 장소마다 그들을 자신의 면전에서 둘 둘씩 보내셨더라.

1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

2 그러므로 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “참으로 수확할 것은 대단히 많으나, 수고하는 자들이 거의 없도다. 그러므로 그분께서 자신의 수확물에 수고하는 자들을 파송해 주시도록 너희는 수확의 주께 기도하라.

2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

3 너희 길들을 가라. 보라, 내가 늑대들 사이에 있는 어린양들같이 너희를 파송하느니라.

3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

4 지갑도 지니지 말고, 보따리도 지니지 말며, 신발들도 지니지 말라. 그리고 도중에 아무에게도 문안하지 말라.

4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

5 또한 너희가 어느 집으로 들어가든지 먼저 ‘이 집에 화평이 있기를 기원하노라.’ 하고 말하라.

5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 그리고 만일 화평의 아들이 거기에 있다면 너희의 화평은 그 집 위에 안식할 것이라. 만일 그렇지 않다면 그것은 너희에게 다시 돌아오리라.

6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

7 그리고 바로 그 집에 남아 있으면서 그들이 주는 대로 그러한 것들을 먹고 마시라. 이는 수고하는 자들은 자신의 품값을 받을 자격이 있기 때문이라. 이 집에서 저 집으로 다니지 말라.

7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

8 그리고 너희가 어느 도시로 들어가든지 이에 그들이 너희를 영접한다면 너희 앞에 차려진 대로 그러한 것들을 먹으라.

8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

9 그리고 그곳에 있는 병든 자들을 치유하며 그들에게 ‘하나님의 왕국이 너희에게 가까이 왔느니라.’하고 말하라.

9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

10 그러나 너희가 어느 도시로 들어가든지 이에 그들이 너희를 영접하지 아니한다면 바로 그 도시의 거리들로 나와서 너희의 길들을 가라. 그리고 이같이 말하라.

10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

11 ‘너희의 도시에서부터 우리에게 붙어 있는 바로 그 먼지조차 우리가 너희를 대적하여 닦아 내노라. 그래도 너희는 이것을 확실히 알지니, 하나님의 왕국이 너희에게 가까이 왔다는 것이라.’

11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

12 그러나 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 소돔이 그날에 그 도시보다 더 버티기 쉬우리라.

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13 코라진아, 너에게 화가 있기를 바라노라! 벧새다야, 너에게 화가 있기를 바라노라! 이는 만일 너희 안에서 행해진 그 막강한 역사들이 티레와 시돈에서 행해졌다면, 그들은 아주 오래전에 굵은 베와 재들 속에 앉아서 회개하였으리라.

13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14 그러나 심판 때에 티레와 시돈이 너희보다 더 버티기 쉬우리라.

14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

15 그리고 하늘까지 크게 높여진 가버나움아, 네가 지옥까지 쫓겨 내려가리라.

15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16 너희의 말을 듣는 자는 나의 말을 듣는 것이라. 그리고 너희를 멸시하는 자는 나를 멸시하는 것이라. 그리고 나를 멸시하는 자는 나를 보내신 분을 멸시하는 것이라.”

16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17 ¶ 이후에 칠십 명이 즐거움으로 제자리에 다시 돌아와서 말씀드리기를, “주여, 심지어 마귀들까지도 당신의 이름을 통하여 우리에게 굴복하였나이다.” 하였더라.

17 ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “사탄이 하늘에서부터 번개같이 떨어지는 것을 내가 보았노라.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 보라, 뱀들과 전갈들을 밟고 원수의 모든 권능을 제압할 권능을 내가 너희에게 주노라. 그리하면 어떤 방식으로든 너희를 다치게 할 것이 아무것도 없으리라.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 그래도 영들이 너희에게 굴복하는 이것으로는 크게 기뻐하지 말라. 그러나 오히려 너희의 이름들이 하늘에 기록되었으므로 크게 기뻐하라.”

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21 ¶ 그 시각에 예수님께서 영 안에서 크게 기뻐하시며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “오, 하늘과 땅의 주이신 아버지여, 제가 당신께 감사드리나이다. 이는 당신께서 이런 것들을 지혜롭고 총명한 자들로부터 숨기시고 아기들에게는 그것들을 계시하셨기 때문이니이다. 아버지여, 정말 그러하나이다. 이는 그렇게 하심이 당신의 목전에 보기 좋으셨기 때문이니이다.

21 ¶ In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

22 모든 것들이 나의 아버지께로부터 나에게 넘겨졌나이다. 그런즉 아버지 외에는 아들이 누구인지 아무도 모르나이다. 또한 아들과, 아들이 그분을 계시할 자 외에는 아버지가 누구신지 아무도 모르나이다.”

22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

23 ¶ 그러고 나서 그분께서 자신의 제자들에게 몸을 돌리셔서 은밀하게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희가 보는 것들을 보는 눈들은 복되도다.

23 ¶ And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

24 이는 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 많은 예언자들과 왕들이 너희가 보고 있는 그것들 보기를 열망하였으나 그것들을 보지 못하였으며 너희가 듣고 있는 그것들을 듣기를 열망하였으나 그것들을 듣지 못하였기 때문이라.”

24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

25 ¶ 그런데 보라, 어떤 율법사 한 명이 일어나서 그분을 시험하며 말씀드리기를, “스승이여, 제가 영생을 상속받으려면 무엇을 해야 하리이까?” 하였더라.

25 ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 그분께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “율법 안에 무엇이라 기록되어 있느냐? 너는 어떻게 읽느냐?” 하셨느니라.

26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 이에 그가 대답하며 말씀드리기를, “너는 너의 마음을 다하고, 너의 혼을 다하고, 너의 힘을 다하고, 너의 생각을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑할지니라. 그리고 너의 이웃을 너 자신과 같이 사랑할지니라.” 하였더라.

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 그러자 그분께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “네가 옳게 대답하였도다. 이것을 실행하라. 그리하면 네가 살리라.” 하셨느니라.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29 그러나 그는 스스로를 정당화하려고 예수님께 말씀드리기를, “그런데 저의 이웃은 누구니이까?” 하였더라.

29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30 이에 예수님께서 대답하며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “어떤 남자가 예루살렘에서 예리코로 내려가다가 도둑들을 만났느니라. 그들은 그에게서 그의 의상을 벗기고 그에게 상처를 입히고 그를 반쯤 죽은 상태로 남겨둔 채 떠났느니라.

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 그런데 우연히 어떤 제사장 한 명이 그 길로 내려갔느니라. 그러다가 제사장이 그를 보자 그는 다른 쪽으로 비켜 지나갔느니라.

31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 그리고 마찬가지로 어떤 레위인이 그 장소에 있었는데 가서 그를 바라보았다가 다른 쪽으로 비켜 지나갔느니라.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33 그러나 어떤 사마리아인 한 명이 자신의 여정 중에 그가 있는 곳에 당도하였느니라. 그리고 그가 그를 보자 그는 그에게 연민을 가졌느니라,

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34 그리하여 그에게 가서 기름과 포도주를 부어 그의 상처들을 싸매고, 자기 자신의 짐승 위에 그를 태워 그를 여관으로 데려다주고 그를 돌보았느니라.

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 그리고 이튿날 그가 떠날 때 그는 이 펜스⁴를 꺼내서 주인장에게 그것들을 주었고 그에게 말하기를, ‘그를 돌보아 주라. 내가 다시 돌아올 때 네가 얼마를 더 쓰든지 간에 내가 너에게 다시 지불하겠노라.’ 하였느니라.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36 네가 생각하기로는, 이 세 명 중 누가 그 도둑들을 만났던 자에게 이웃이었느냐?”

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 그러자 그가 말씀드리기를, “그에게 자비를 보인 자이옵니다.” 하였더라. 그때 예수님께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “가라. 그리고 너도 이와 같이 하라.” 하셨느니라.

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

38 ¶ 이때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그들이 가는 동안 그분께서 어떤 촌락 하나로 들어가셨더라. 그리고 마르다란 이름으로 불리는 어떤 여자 한 명이 자신의 집 안으로 그분을 받아들였더라.

38 ¶ Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 그리고 그녀에게는 마리아라 불리는 자매가 있었으니, 마리아도 예수님의 두 발 앞에 앉아 그분의 말씀을 들었더라.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40 그러나 마르다가 많은 섬김에 대하여 심란하게 되어 그분께 나아가 말씀드리기를, “주여, 저의 자매가 저를 홀로 섬기도록 내버려 두었는데 당신께서는 개의치 아니하시나이까? 그러므로 마리아가 저를 도울 것을 그녀에게 분부하여 주소서.” 하였더라.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 그러자 예수님께서 그녀에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨더라. “마르다야, 마르다야, 네가 많은 일들에 대하여 염려로 가득하고 불안해하는도다.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 그러나 필요한 것은 한 가지뿐이라. 그런즉 마리아는 그 좋은 편을 선택하였으니, 그녀는 그것을 빼앗기지 아니하리라.”

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
