1 그러고 나서 그분께서 올려다 보시어 성전 금고에 자신들의 예물들을 던져 넣는 부유한 사람들을 보셨더라.

1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

2 이어서 그분께서 그곳에 이 마이트¹¹를 던져 넣는 어떤 가난한 과부 한 명도 보셨더라.

2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

3 그러자 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “내가 너희에게 진실되이 말하노니, 이 가난한 과부가 그들 모두보다 더 많이 던져 넣었도다.

3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

4 이는 이들 모두가 자신들의 풍요함 가운데서 하나님께 드리는 제물들로 던져 넣었으나 그녀는 자신의 빈곤함 가운데서 그녀가 가진 생활비 전부를 던져 넣은 것이기 때문이라.”

4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

5 ¶ 그러고 나서 어떤 이들이 성전에 관하여 그것이 얼마나 근사한 돌들과 예물들로 단장되었는지 말하고 있을 때, 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

5 ¶ And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

6 “너희가 보고 있는 이것들로 말하자면 그날들이 오리니, 그때는 돌 하나도 다른 돌 위에 남겨지지 아니하리니, 무너뜨려지지 아니할 돌이 없으리라.”

6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

7 그런즉 그들이 그분께 여쭈며 말씀드리기를, “스승님, 그러나 이런 일들이 언제 있겠나이까? 그리고 이런 일들이 일어날 때는 어떤 표적이 있겠나이까?” 하였더라.

7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

8 그러자 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희는 속지 않도록 주의하라. 이는 많은 이들이 나의 이름으로 와서 말하기를, ‘내가 그리스도라. 그런즉 그때가 가까이 다가왔도다.’ 하리라. 그러므로 너희는 그들을 따라가지 말라.

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

9 그러나 너희가 전쟁들과 격동들에 관하여 들을 때 공포스러워하지 말라. 이는 이런 일들이 반드시 먼저 일어나야 하나 바로 끝은 아니기 때문이라.”

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

10 그때 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “민족이 민족을 대적하고, 왕국이 왕국을 대적하여 일어나리라.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 그리고 커다란 지진들이 여러 장소들에 있을 것이요, 기근들과 역병들도 있을 것이라. 그리고 두려운 광경들과 대단한 표적들이 하늘에서부터 있을 것이라.

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

12 그러나 이 모든 것에 앞서 그들은 나의 이름으로 인하여 왕들과 치리자들 앞에 끌려온 너희에게 자신들의 손을 댈 것이요, 너희를 박해할 것이며, 회당들에 너희를 넘겨 버릴 것이요, 감옥들 안에 집어넣을 것이라.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

13 그런즉 그것이 너희에게 간증을 위한 계기로 변하리라.

13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14 그러므로 너희가 무엇을 답변할지 미리 고심하지 않도록 너희 마음속에 이를 다짐하라.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

15 이는 내가 너희에게 너희의 모든 대적들이 논박하거나 저항하지 못할 한 입과 지혜를 줄 것이기 때문이라.

15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

16 그리고 너희는 부모와 형제들과 육친들과 친구들 모두에 의해 배반당하리라. 그리고 그들은 너희 중 일부를 사형에 처해지게 하리라.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

17 그리고 너희는 나의 이름으로 인하여 모든 사람들에게서 증오를 받으리라.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

18 그러나 너희의 머리에 있는 머리카락 한 올도 상하지 아니하리라.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

19 너희는 너희의 인내로 너희의 혼들을 소유하라.

19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

20 그리고 예루살렘이 군사들에 포위당한 것을 너희가 볼 때면 그때는 그것의 황량함이 가까이 있는 것을 알라.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21 그때 유대에 있는 자들은 산들로 도망할지니라. 그리고 유대의 한가운데 있는 자들은 떠날지니라. 그리고 지방들에 있는 자들은 유대 안으로 들어가지 말지니라.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 이는 이날들이 복수의 날들이기 때문이니, 기록된 모든 것들이 성취되게 하려 함이라.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 그러나 그날들에는 아이 밴 자들과 젖 먹이는 자들에게 화가 있으리로다! 이는 그 지역 가운데 크나큰 괴로움이 있을 것이요, 이 백성에게 임하는 진노가 있을 것이기 때문이라.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 그런즉 그들은 칼날에 쓰러질 것이요, 모든 민족들 가운데 포로 되어 끌려가리라. 그리고 예루살렘은 이방인들의 시대들이 차기까지 이방인들에게 짓밟히리라.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 ¶ 그리고 해에 표적들이 있을 것이요, 달에도 표적들이 있을 것이며, 별들에도 표적들이 있으리라. 또한 땅 위에는 민족들의 괴로움이 당황함과 함께 있으리라. 바다와 파도들에는 포효함이 있으리라.

25 ¶ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 사람들의 마음이 두려움으로 인하여 그리고 지상에 임하고 있는 그 일들을 예의 주시함으로 인하여 그들을 쇠하게 하리라. 이는 하늘의 권능들이 흔들릴 것이기 때문이라.

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 그리고 그때 그들은 인자가 권능과 대단한 영광과 함께 구름 가운데 오는 것을 보리라.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 그런즉 이런 일들이 일어나기 시작하면 그때 올려다보고 너희의 머리를 들어 올리라. 이는 너희의 구속이 가깝게 다가오기 때문이라.”

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

29 이어서 그분께서 그들에게 한 가지 비유를 말씀하셨느니라. “무화과나무와 모든 나무들을 보라.

29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

30 그것들이 이제 새싹을 틔우면 너희는 이제 여름이 임박하여 가까운 것을 너희 스스로 보고 아느니라.

30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

31 그렇기에 너희도 이와 마찬가지로 이런 일들이 일어나는 것을 너희가 볼 때면, 너희는 하나님의 왕국이 임박하여 가까운 것을 알라.

31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

32 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘모든 것이 성취되기 전에는 이 세대가 없어지지 아니하리라.’

32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

33 하늘과 땅은 없어질 것이나, 나의 말들은 없어지지 아니하리라.

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

34 ¶ 그런즉 너희의 마음이 어느 때나 폭식과 술 취함과 이생의 염려들로 과도하게 채워지지 않도록 스스로 주의하라. 또한 그렇게 하여 그날이 부지중에 너희 위에 임하지 않게 하라.

34 ¶ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

35 이는 마치 올무처럼 그날이 온 땅의 표면에 거하는 모든 자들 위에 임할 것이기 때문이라.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 그러므로 너희는 깨어 있고 항상 기도하라. 이는 너희로 하여금 일어나게 될 이 모든 일들에서 벗어나기에 합당한 자로 여겨지게 하려 함이요, 인자 앞에 서기에 합당한 자로 여겨지게 하려 함이라.”

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

37 그리하여 낮 시간에는 그분께서 성전에서 가르치고 계셨다가 밤에는 그분께서 나가시어 올리브산이라고 불리는 산속에 거하셨더라.

37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

38 그런즉 모든 백성이 성전에 계신 그분께 아침 일찍 나아왔으니, 그분의 말씀을 듣기 위해서였더라.

38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
