1 이후에 그분께서 그분의 열두 제자를 자신에게로 부르셨을 때, 불결한 영들을 대적하여 그들을 쫓아내고 온갖 부류의 병과 온갖 부류의 질병을 치유할 수 있는 권능을 그분께서 그들에게 주셨더라.

1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

2 이때 열두 사도의 이름들은 이러하니라. 첫째, 베드로라 불리는 시몬과 그의 형제 안드레요, 세배대의 아들 야고보와 그의 형제 요한이요,

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3 빌립과 바돌로매요, 도마와 세리 마태요, 알패오의 아들 야고보와 다대오란 이명으로 불리는 렙배오요,

3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

4 가나안족 시몬과 유-다 이스카리옷인데 그는 또한 그분을 배반한 자더라.

4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 예수님께서 이 열두 명을 파송하셨으며 그들에게 명령하며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희는 이방인들의 길로 들어가지 말며 사마리아인들의 어떤 도시로도 진입하지 말라.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 오히려 그보다는 이스라엘 집의 잃어버린 양들에게로 가라.

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 그런즉 너희가 가는 동안 선포하며 말하기를, ‘하늘의 왕국이 가까우니라.’ 하라.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 병든 자들을 치유하라. 나병 환자들을 정결하게 하라. 죽은 자들을 일으키라. 마귀들을 쫓아내라. 너희가 값없이 받았으니 값없이 주라.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

9 너희 지갑들에 금도 마련하지 말고 은이나 놋도 마련하지 말라.

9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

10 너희의 여정을 위한 짐 보따리나 두 벌의 웃옷도, 신발들도, 또한 지팡이들까지도 마련하지 말라. 이는 일하는 사람은 자신의 음식에 대한 자격이 있기 때문이라.

10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

11 그리고 너희가 어떤 도시나 마을로 진입하게 되든지, 그곳에 합당한 자를 알아내라. 그리하여 너희가 거기에서 나갈 때까지 그곳에 거하라.

11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

12 또 너희가 어떤 집 안으로 들어갈 때면 그곳에 문안하라.

12 And when ye come into an house, salute it.

13 그리하여 만일 그 집이 합당하다면 너희의 화평이 그 집에 임하게 하라. 그러나 만일 그곳이 합당하지 아니하다면 너희의 화평이 너희에게 되돌아오게 하라.

13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

14 그리고 누구든지 너희를 받아들이려 하지 않거나 너희 말들을 들으려 하지 않으면 너희가 그 집이나 도시에서 떠날 때 너희 발에 있는 먼지를 떨어 버리라.

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

15 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘심판의 날에 소돔과 고모-라 지역이 그 도시보다는 버티기 더 쉬우리라.’

15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16 ¶ 보라, 내가 너희를 늑대들 한가운데 있는 양들같이 파송하노라. 그러므로 너희는 뱀들같이 지혜롭고 비둘기들같이 무해하라.

16 ¶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

17 다만 사람들을 경계하라. 이는 그들이 너희를 공회들에 넘겨 버릴 것이요, 그들은 자신들의 회당들에서 너희를 채찍질할 것이기 때문이라.

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 그리고 너희는 나로 인하여 지배자들과 왕들 앞에 끌려 가리니, 그들과 이방인들을 대적하는 간증을 위함이라.

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 그러나 그들이 너희를 넘겨 버릴 때 너희는 어떻게 혹은 무엇을 말할지 전혀 걱정하지 말라. 이는 너희가 말할 것이 바로 그 시각에 너희에게 주어질 것이기 때문이라.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20 이는 말하는 것이 너희가 아니요, 다만 너희 안에서 말씀하시는 너희 아버지의 영이시기 때문이라.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 또한 형제가 형제를, 그리고 아버지가 자식을 죽음에 넘겨 버리리라. 또 자식들이 자기 부모를 대적하여 일어날 것이요, 그들로 하여금 사형에 처하게 하리라.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

22 그리고 너희는 내 이름으로 인하여 모든 사람들에게 증오를 받으리라. 그러나 끝까지 견디는 자는 구원을 받으리라.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

23 그러나 그들이 이 도시에서 너희를 박해하면 너희는 또 다른 도시로 도망하라. 이는 진실로 내가 너희에게 이같이 말하기 때문이라. ‘인자가 올 때까지 너희가 이스라엘의 도시들 전부를 다니지 못하리라.’

23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 제자가 자신의 스승보다 높지 않으며, 종이 자신의 소유주보다 높지 않으니라.

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25 제자가 자신의 스승과 같아지고 종이 자신의 소유주와 같아지면 그에게 충분하도다. 만일 그들이 그 집의 주인을 베엘제붑이라고 불렀다면 하물며 그의 집안사람들은 그들이 얼마나 더 심하게 부르겠느냐?

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

26 그러므로 그들을 두려워하지 말라. 이는 덮어진 것 중 드러나지 않을 것은 아무것도 없고 숨겨진 것 중 알려지지 않을 것은 아무것도 없기 때문이라.

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

27 내가 어둠 가운데서 너희에게 알려주는 것, 그것을 너희는 빛 가운데 말하라. 그리고 너희가 귓속으로 듣는 것, 그것을 너희는 옥상들 위에서 선포하라.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

28 그리고 몸을 죽여도 혼을 죽일 수 없는 자들을 두려워하지 말라. 반면 혼과 몸 모두를 지옥에서 파괴시킬 수 있으신 그분을 오히려 두려워하라.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

29 참새 두 마리가 일 파딩⁸에 팔리지 아니하냐? 그리고 너희 아버지 없이는 그것들 중 한 마리도 땅바닥으로 떨어지지 아니하리라.

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30 오히려 너희 머리에 있는 바로 그 머리카락들까지도 전부 계수되느니라.

30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 그러므로 너희는 두려워하지 말라. 너희는 여러 마리의 참새들보다 더 귀중하니라.

31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

32 그러므로 누구든지 사람들 앞에서 나를 시인하면, 나도 그를 하늘에 계신 나의 아버지 앞에서 시인하겠노라.

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 그러나 누구든지 사람들 앞에서 나를 부인하면, 나도 그를 하늘에 계신 나의 아버지 앞에서 부인하겠노라.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

34 내가 지상에 화평을 보내러 온 것으로 생각하지 말라. 나는 화평을 보내러 온 것이 아니요, 다만 칼을 보내러 온 것이라.

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 이는 남자가 그의 아버지를 대적하고, 그 딸이 그녀의 어머니를 대적하고, 그 며느리는 그녀의 시어머니를 대적하여 적대하게 하고자 내가 왔기 때문이라.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 그런즉 사람의 적들은 자기 자신의 집안사람들이 되리라.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 아버지나 어머니를 나보다 더 사랑하는 자는 나에게 합당하지 않으니라. 그리고 아들이나 딸을 나보다 더 사랑하는 자도 나에게 합당하지 않으니라.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 그리고 자기 십자가를 지지 않으면서 나를 뒤따르는 자도 나에게 합당하지 않으니라.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 자기 생명을 찾는 자는 그것을 잃을 것이요, 나를 위하여 자기 생명을 잃는 자는 그것을 찾을 것이라.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 ¶ 너희를 받아들이는 자는 나를 받아들이며, 나를 받아들이는 자는 나를 보내신 그분을 받아들이느니라.

40 ¶ He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41 예언자의 이름으로 예언자를 받아들이는 자는 예언자의 보상을 받을 것이요, 의로운 사람의 이름으로 의로운 사람을 받아들이는 자는 의로운 사람의 보상을 받을 것이라.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42 그런즉 누구든지 제자의 이름으로 이 작은 자들 중 하나에게 단 한 잔의 냉수라도 주어 마시게 하면, 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 그는 자신의 보상을 절대 잃지 아니하리라.”

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
