1 이후에 예수님께서 다시 그들에게 대답하여 비유들로 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.

1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

2 “하늘의 왕국은 마치 자기 아들을 위하여 혼인 잔치를 마련한 어떤 왕 같으니라.

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

3 그리하여 그가 자기 종들을 파견하여 결혼식에 초대받은 자들을 불렀는데 그들은 오려고 하지 않았느니라.

3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

4 또다시 그가 다른 종들을 파견하며 말하기를, ‘초대받은 자들에게 알리라. ‘보라, 내가 나의 정찬을 차려놓았으니, 나의 소들과 살진 짐승들을 잡았고 모든 것들이 준비되었노라. 혼인 잔치로 오라.’’ 하였더라.

4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

5 그러나 그들이 그것을 가벼이 여기고 자신들의 길을 갔으니, 하나는 자기 농장으로 가고, 또 다른 이는 자기 상품으로 향하였느니라.

5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

6 그리고 그 남은 자들은 그의 종들을 잡아들여 그들을 악독하게 다루었으며 그들을 살해하였느니라.

6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

7 그러나 왕이 그것에 대하여 들었을 때 그가 진노하였느니라. 그리하여 그가 자기 군사들을 파견하여 그 살인자들을 멸망시켰으며 그들의 도시를 모조리 태워 버렸더라.

7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

8 그때 그가 자신의 종들에게 이같이 말하니라. ‘결혼식은 준비되어 있으나 초대받았던 자들은 자격이 되지 않았도다.

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

9 그러므로 너희는 대로들로 가라. 그리고 너희가 발견하는 자들은 다 혼인 잔치로 초대하라.’

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 그렇게 하여 그 종들이 대로들로 나가서 그들이 발견하는 자들은 모두 나쁘든 선하든 다 한데 모았더라. 그러자 결혼식이 손님들로 채워졌느니라.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 ¶ 그런데 왕이 손님들을 보려고 들어왔을 때, 그가 거기서 결혼식 의복 한 벌도 갖추지 않은 남자를 보았노라.

11 ¶ And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

12 그리하여 그가 그에게 말하기를, ‘친구여, 그대는 어찌 결혼식 의복 한 벌도 갖추지 않은 채 여기로 왔는가?’ 하니라. 그러자 그는 말문이 막혔더라.

12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 그때 왕이 그 종들에게 말하기를, ‘그의 손발을 묶고, 그를 데리고 나가서 바깥 어둠 속으로 그를 던지라. 거기에는 울며 이를 가는 일이 있으리라.’ 하였더라.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 이는 부름을 받은 이들은 많으나 선택된 자들이 거의 없기 때문이라.”

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

15 ¶ 그때 바리새파 사람들이 가서 자신들이 어떻게 하면 그분을 그분의 말로 옭아맬 수 있을지 의논하였더라.

15 ¶ Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.

16 그리하여 그들이 그들의 제자들을 헤롯 당원들과 함께 그분께 보내며 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “스승이여, 당신께서는 진실하시며 진리 안에서 하나님의 길을 가르치시고 또한 당신께서는 어떤 사람도 개의치 않으시는 줄을 우리가 아나이다. 이는 당신께서는 사람들의 외모를 중요시하지 않으시기 때문이니이다.

16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

17 그러므로 우리에게 알려주소서. 당신께서는 어떻게 생각하시나이까? 카이사르에게 공세를 내는 것이 합법적이니이까? 아니면 그렇지 않나이까?”

17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

18 그러나 예수님께서 그들의 사악함을 아시고 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희, 위선자들아, 너희는 어찌하여 나를 시험하느냐?

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

19 나에게 그 공세 화폐를 보이라.” 이에 그들이 일 페니¹²를 그분께 가져왔더라.

19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

20 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “이 형상과 상부 표기는 누구의 것이냐?” 하시니라.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “카이사르의 것이니이다.” 하니라. 그때 그분께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “그러므로 카이사르에게 속한 것들은 카이사르에게 돌려주고 하나님께 속한 것들은 하나님께 돌려드리라.” 하시니라.

21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22 그들이 이 말씀들을 들었을 때 그들은 놀라워하였고 그분을 떠나 자신들의 길을 갔더라.

22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

23 ¶ 같은 날, 부활이 전혀 없다고 말하는 사두개파 사람들이 그분께 왔더라. 그러고는 그분께 여쭈며

23 ¶ The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

24 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “스승이여, 모세가 말하기를, ‘만일 어떤 남자가 자식들이 없이 죽으면, 그의 형제가 그의 아내와 결혼하여 그의 형제에게 씨를 일으킬지니라.’ 하였나이다.

24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

25 이제 우리와 함께 일곱 형제가 있었는데 첫째는 그가 한 아내와 혼인한 후에 소생을 갖지 못한 채 세상을 떠났고 그의 아내를 그의 형제에게 남겼나이다.

25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

26 둘째 역시 이와 같았고, 셋째도 그리하였으며, 일곱째까지 그리하였나이다.

26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

27 그리고 최후에는 그 여자 역시 죽었나이다.

27 And last of all the woman died also.

28 그러므로 부활 때에는 그녀가 일곱 중에서 누구의 아내가 되리이까? 이는 그들 모두가 그녀를 취했기 때문이니이다.”

28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

29 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희가 성경 기록들도 모르고 하나님의 권능도 모르므로 잘못을 범하는 것이라.

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

30 이는 부활 때에는 그들이 장가가지도 시집가지도 않으며 오히려 하늘에 있는 하나님의 천사들과 같기 때문이라.

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

31 그러나 죽은 자들의 부활과 관련하여 하나님으로 말미암아 너희에게 언급된 것을 너희는 읽어 본 적이 없느냐? 말씀하시기를,

31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

32 ‘나는 아브라함의 하나님이요, 이삭의 하나님이요, 야곱의 하나님이라.’ 하신 것이라. 하나님께서는 죽은 자들의 하나님이 아니시요, 오직 산 자들의 하나님이시니라.”

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

33 그러자 그 무리가 이 말씀을 들었을 때, 그들은 그분의 교리에 깜짝 놀랐더라.

33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

34 ¶ 그러나 그분께서 사두개파 사람들을 잠잠하게 하셨다는 것을 바리새파 사람들이 듣자 그들이 한데 모였더라.

34 ¶ But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

35 그때 그들 중 한 명인 어떤 율법사가 그분을 시험하고자 그분께 질문 하나를 여쭈며 말씀드리기를,

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 “스승이여, 율법에서 위대한 명령은 어떤 것이니이까?” 하였더라.

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 예수님께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너는 너의 마음을 다하고, 너의 혼을 다하고, 너의 생각을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑할지니라.

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 이것이 첫째요, 위대한 명령이니라.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 그리고 둘째도 그것과 같으니, ‘너는 너의 이웃을 너 자신과 같이 사랑할지니라.’ 한 것이라.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 이 두 명령에 율법과 예언서들 전체가 달려 있느니라.”

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

41 ¶ 바리새파 사람들이 한데 모여 있는 동안에 예수님께서 그들에게 물으시며

41 ¶ While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 말씀하시기를, “너희는 그리스도에 대하여 어떻게 생각하느냐? 그가 누구의 자손이냐?” 하셨느니라. 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “다윗의 자손이니이다.” 하니라.

42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

43 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하시니라. “그렇다면 다윗은 영 안에서 어찌 그를 주라고 부르며 말하기를,

43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

44 ‘주께서 나의 주께 말씀하시기를, ‘너는 내가 너의 원수들을 너의 발등상으로 삼을 때까지 나의 오른편에 앉아 있으라.’ 하셨나이다.’ 하느냐?

44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

45 그렇다면 다윗이 그를 주라고 부르는데도 어떻게 그가 그의 자손이 되느냐?”

45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

46 그러자 아무도 그분께 한마디도 대답하지 못하였으며, 또한 그날 이래로 누구도 감히 그분께 더 이상 질문들을 하지 못하였더라.

46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
