1 그때 이스라엘의 장로들 중 어떤 사람들이 나에게 와서 내 앞에 앉았더라.
1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
2 그러자 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
3 “사람의 아들아, 이 사람들은 자기들의 마음속에 자기들의 우상들을 세우고, 걸려 넘어지게 하는 자기들 죄악의 장애물을 자기들 얼굴 앞에 두었도다. 내가 그들에게서 조금이라도 문의를 받아야겠느냐?
3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
4 그러므로 그들에게 전하여 그들에게 이같이 말하라. 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 이스라엘 집에서 자기 마음속에 자기 우상들을 세워 두고, 걸려 넘어지게 하는 자기 죄악의 장애물을 자기 얼굴 앞에 둔 채로 예언자에게 나아오는 모든 개개인, 그 나아오는 자에게 나 주가 그의 우상들의 허다한 수에 따라 응답하겠노라.
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
5 이는 내가 그들 자신의 마음속에 있는 이스라엘 집을 취하고자 함이니, 그들이 전부 그들의 우상들을 통하여 나로부터 소원해진 까닭이라.
5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
6 ¶ 그러므로 이스라엘 집에 이같이 말하라. 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 회개하라. 그리하여 너희의 우상들로부터 너희 자신을 돌이키라. 너희의 모든 가증함들로부터 너희 얼굴들을 돌리라.
6 ¶ Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
7 나에게서 자신을 분리시키고, 자기 마음속에 자기 우상들을 세워 두며, 걸려 넘어지게 하는 자기 죄악의 장애물을 자기 얼굴 앞에 두고, 나에 관하여 예언자에게 물으려고 그에게 나아오는, 이스라엘 집의 모든 이나 이스라엘에서 체류하는 타국인의 모든 이에게는 저마다, 나 주가 그에게 친히 응답할 것이기 때문이라.
7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
8 그리하여 내가 그 사람을 대적하여 나의 얼굴을 고정시킬 것이요, 그를 표적과 속담으로 삼겠노라. 그리고 내가 그를 나의 백성의 한복판으로부터 끊어 버리겠노라. 그리하면 너희는 내가 주라는 것을 알게 되리라.
8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
9 그리고 만일 그 예언자가 어떤 것을 말하였을 때 그가 속아서 그리한 경우, 나 주가 그 예언자를 속인 것이니, 나는 나의 손을 그의 위에 뻗을 것이요, 그를 나의 백성 이스라엘의 한복판으로부터 멸하겠노라.
9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
10 그리하여 그들은 그들의 죄악의 형벌을 짊어지리라. 예언자의 형벌은 그에게 구하는 자의 형벌과 똑같으리라.
10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
11 이는 이스라엘 집이 더 이상 나를 떠나 길을 이탈하지 아니하게 하려 함이요, 그들의 모든 불법들로 더 이상 오염되지도 아니하게 하려 함이라. 오히려 그들이 나의 백성이 되게 하려 함이요, 내가 그들의 하나님이 되려 함이라. 주 하나님이 말하노라.”
11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.
12 ¶ 다시금 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
12 ¶ The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
13 “사람의 아들아, 그 지역이 심각하게 범법을 저지름으로써 나를 대적하여 죄를 짓는 그때는 내가 나의 손을 그곳 위로 뻗겠으니, 그곳의 빵의 버팀대를 꺾겠고, 그곳 위에 기근을 보내겠으며, 그곳으로부터 사람과 짐승을 끊어 버리겠노라.
13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
14 만일에 노아, 다니엘, 욥, 이 세 사람이 그 지역 안에 있다 할지라도, 그들은 자신들의 의를 통하여 그들 자신의 혼들만 구출하리라. 주 하나님이 말하노라.
14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
15 ¶ 만일에 내가 고약한 짐승들로 하여금 그 지역을 지나다니게 하고 그것들이 그곳을 해치게 하여, 그곳이 황량해지고 그 짐승들로 인하여 아무도 지나다니지 못하는 경우,
15 ¶ If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
16 만일에 이 세 사람이 그곳 안에 있다 할지라도, 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 주 하나님이 말하노라. 그들은 아들들도, 딸들도 구출하지 못하리라. 오로지 그들만 구출될 것이요, 반면 그 지역은 황량해지리라.
16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.
17 ¶ 또는 만일 내가 그 지역 위에 칼을 가져오고 말하기를, ‘칼아, 그 지역을 관통하여 가라.’ 하여 내가 그곳으로부터 사람과 짐승을 끊어 버리는 경우,
17 ¶ Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
18 만일에 이 세 사람이 그 지역 안에 있다 할지라도, 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 주 하나님이 말하노라. 그들은 아들들도, 딸들도 구출하지 못하리라. 다만 그들은 오로지 그들 자신만 구출되리라.
18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
19 ¶ 또는 만일 내가 그 지역에 역병을 보내고 나의 노여움을 피 가운데서 그곳 위에 쏟아부어서 그곳으로부터 사람과 짐승을 끊어 버리는 경우,
19 ¶ Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
20 만일에 노아, 다니엘, 욥이 그 지역 안에 있다 할지라도 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 주 하나님이 말하노라. 그들은 아들도, 딸도 구출하지 못하리라. 그들은 그들의 의를 통하여 오직 그들 자신의 혼들만 구출하리라.
20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
21 이는 주 하나님이 이같이 말하기 때문이라. 하물며 내가 나의 네 가지 극렬한 심판들, 곧 칼과 기근과 고약한 짐승과 역병을 예루살렘 위에 보내서 사람과 짐승을 그곳으로부터 끊어 버릴 때는 얼마나 더 그러하겠느냐?
21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
22 ¶ 그럼에도 보라, 그 안에는 밖으로 꺼내질 남은 자, 곧 아들들과 딸들 모두가 남겨지리라. 보라, 그들이 너희에게 나아올 것이요, 너희는 그들의 길과 그들이 행동하는 것들을 보리라. 그리고 너희는 내가 예루살렘 위에 가져온 해악, 곧 내가 그곳 위에 가져온 모든 것에 관하여 위로를 받으리라.
22 ¶ Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
23 그리고 너희가 그들의 길들과 그들의 거동들을 볼 때 그들은 너희를 위로하리라. 그리하면 너희는 내가 그곳 안에서 행한 모든 일을 내가 까닭 없이 행하지 아니한 것을 알게 되리라. 주 하나님이 말하노라.”
23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
